We have always loved Robinson’s. Ate with friends out on the deck. Very slow service. We spent almost three hours eating lobster dinners and dessert. But service was extraordinarily slow. Friends had to drive an hour and a half home so they were anxious to leave. Check was not forthcoming so we went into the restaurant and asked for our check which was not done by couple so we had to figure out how to split it. Then there were charges that we did not owe. Finally figured it out and noone around. Soft-shell lobsters didn’t have much meat in them. Tiny amount of cole slaw plus corn on the cob. Should have had some bread or something. All had dessert as we were all still hungry. Not going again soon.

Hit this place up several more times since my review. They now how cider on tap. Its one I havent had before and the name escapes me. Their foods is always really good. Do yourself a favor and have the fried green beans. I have no clue whats in the breading, but its AMAZING! We are addicted and order every time. Great place for lobster and to hang with your friend or family. My son, wanted to go there after graduation and it was a great time! Great little bar and grill. Best part, it’s open year round. They have cider and are working on getting it on tap. When you sit at the bar you get a wonderful view of the harbor. Watching harbor seals play while you get a drink is awesome. Tried the mussels appetizer. Very good and freaking huge! Hubby and I really enjoyed the place and the locals at the bar were fun to chat with. Definitely give the a try.

Food was all right. I had grilled fish and my company had the fresh lobster. They enjoyed their meals but mine seemed to be underwhelming and a bit bland. Stick to the lobster and enjoy the views outside

Spending a weekend in Boothbay Harbor. We read the reviews and headed over to Southport for a nice seafood dinner tonight at Robinsons. Nice to go a bit off season to miss the crowds. My husband had the lobster roll with a bit of mayo, lots of fresh lobster. Our server, Kristen, suggested the Seared Tuna appetizer with seaweed salad. It was seared well and a good sized portion as she promised. He also had the calamari which was crispy and crunchy. Yes, he has a «good appetite». Attentive and pleasant service from Kristen. Thank you.

Best lobster restaurant ever!!! Lobster boats were literally unloading lobsters right on the dock where we were eating. Lobster roll was soo fresh and full of lobster meat. Roll was grilled and nice tasting. Portobello mushroom sandwich was excellent. Fries and rings were nicely fried and not greasy. Great seating outside on lobster dock. Friendly host and waitress. Host actually came and got us in our car when our table was ready outside. Covered outside seating under umbrellas or shading. Huge menu with something for everyone. Fast service. Bar and interior seating. Live lobster tanks, gift shop, ice cream parlor. Been going here for generations and it is always excellent and better than the time before.

The wife and I along with friends ate here last July(2014) and again just last week. A really nice place, with a great view! I can’t say the food is «awesome» but it is very good and very reasonably priced. The staff is great and always politely helpful. Our favorite place to sit is on the upper outside deck. One friend had her usual lobster, which she raved about. I had a cheeseburger, that was nice and juicy, cooked perfectly(medium well for me). The fries, and other side dishes were very generous in their portions. All six of left quiet satisfied! We plan on comig back again year!

Sad to say that our meal at Robinsons Wharf was a disappointment. We have been coming to the area for years and dining at Robinsons was one of the highlights. After a two year absence the food was not the amazing fresh lobster and seafood served in years past. Tonight’s shrimp cocktail seemed to be made from defrosted supermarket grade product that was on its last legs served with a clearly bottled cocktail sauce. The mussels were just ok. The clam chowder was not the rich creamy chowder with lots of sweet clams and freshly cooked potatoes. This chowder almost seemed canned, a tremendous sin for any self respecting waterside restaurant. Finally, the steamed lobsters were missing the sweet essence of the sea I’ve come to love and expect in Maine. The flavor was watered down and a bit off… Not awful, but far off the mark for what should be the highlight of the meal. In Robinsons favor, the food is priced fairly reasonably and our server was attentive and tried her best to please. Overall, a disappointment, especially given some of the delicious meals we’ve had in years past.

Went there on the recommendation of a local. My maine dinner was great BUT my friend’s meal was really bad. He had the fried scallops and they were so greasy he couldnt eat them. Change the fryolator oil! Waitress was good & gave us some $ off. Very comfortable & picturesque atmosphere. Pinic benches out on deck right next to dock & on the water.

Maine Shore Dinner consisted of a lobster, chowder, steamers, and slaw+corn. Oh, what a delight. The clam chowder is seriously divine. The lobsters were being loaded off the boat and into the tanks while we ate. This is fresh seafood! We also thoroughly enjoyed the blueberry pie. It was really really tasty.

Unbelievably good food. Good service, best prices in the Boothbay area. Went there for dinner last night, going back for lunch today.

Staff is very friendly, We ate here each night of our 7 nights in Boothbay. The brownie desert was the only letdown as it was stale. Still the dinners were so outstanding we just loved this place.

Went in July of 2014 and there was a deal for 21lb lobsters, great corn and good cole slaw for $ 18.95. Great deal for the area. The portion of steamers weren’t great, but they were very tasty. Great blueberry pie!

Thank you Robinson’s. My mother-in-law had 50 people scheduled for a clambake and boat tour for a wedding party. The boat cancelled 3 hours before the trip and we were left scrambling. Robinson’s was able to fit us all in, and serve a great shore dinner of lobsters, steamers, and corn on the cob to everyone. The food was great and the service outstanding. Thank you again for the great meals.

This is a great place! If you want a really good Maine dinner, order the morning Maine Shore dinner. The best clam chowder you will ever taste starts the meal, followed by delicious corn on the cob, steamed mussels, and lobster. The waitstaff is extremely friendly, efficient, and makes sure that you are well served. Make sure to get there a little before 6PM on Friday night. There is always a great local band playing in the main dining room.

Went back after several years(we’re frequent Summer Boothbay residents) based on friend’s recommendations and were very disappointed in the size of our lobster — we ordered one and a half pounders — believing we’d get large hardshells — and what we got were puny soft shells with hardly any meat. Our wait person semi apologized for not clarifying our order. Corn on the cob was not sweet and juicy. Cole slaw was good. You’ll do a lot better at Lobster Dock or Lobster Wharf in East Boothbay. We’ve(again) crossing Robinson ’ s off our list. Over rated by others we think.

Been summering on Southport for 40 years and have seen all the iterations of Robinson’s, but was really let down – the food was slow(1 hour from order to table), cold, and underwhelming. They are understaffed with empty tables – on July 1??? My stuffed haddock was not stuffed, just overcooked with a sauce on top. The twin lobsters were cold and undercooked – how do you mess up lobster? I will go back in five years or so – the next iteration. Until then I will drive to the harbor.

Started off with slow service, but waiter was really friendly. They forgot to put their beverages on the menu, but they serve Pepsi products. This place has a great atmosphere and a beautiful view and the outdoor seating was amazing. Waiter was extremely slow and brought drinks out 2 at a time. His excuse was they were slammed, but he was seen hanging out by the restrooms doing nothing. Took forever for him to take our order, but food came out pretty quick. Food was great, but service was slow and that’s why I didn’t give them 5 star
