Spinach sweet crisp salad is terrific! I was a little pit off by the foul smell on the lobby but the rest of the place seems clean. Good food, and service!

So here the thing: the food is nominal. Not wicked good but not terrible. The biggest drawback is that the customer service is wretched. Not only is the customer always wrong but the snarky comments and constant employee bickering and fighting makes it really very uncomfortable to sit and enjoy the«meh» level food. The place is decently clean but don’t worry the assflap employees make it stink plenty.

I love the cheddar broccoli soup. I wish the bowl was bigger but oh well. Favorite Asian wonton but it has since been taken off the menu. Have to find a new favorite now.

3.5 stars. Not sure why this location has such a low rating but I’ve come here a few times and am always decently happy with the service and speed at which the food comes out. They serve breakfast all day which is a HUGE plus to me over Panera. The price is very reasonable and in line with the portion sizes. The food also tastes fresh and I have not experienced any issues with receiving the wrong order. Definitely a go-to for breakfast when I’m feeling too lazy to wait for brunch.

Please … Please get your orders right. I shouldn’t have to tell you guys how to do your job. If I wanted an all tomato sandwich, I would have made it myself. Very disappointed

The food at Corner Bakery is great, but the kitchen staff at the Germantown location are completely incompetent and the service sucks! The girl working the register didnt know what food was on the menu, it took us 25 minutes to get our 2-person order, and even then they forgot one of the salads in my salad Trio! The manager was standing there behind the counter and didnt even acknowledge or apologize for the long wait. We’ll go to Panera from now on.

I went here today for lunch. The food was good. I had the combo half sandwich and potato soup. I didn’t have any complaints about my meal. My main complaint was about the Manager. His name was JK and he was EXTREMELY rude. I held open the door for him and he told me to get out of his way and shewed me away. I was completely appalled. I thought he was a customer until I saw him go in the back. He was rude to a couple of customers. I actually wrote to corporate about him. If I knew he worked there, I would have walked out. The staff was very friendly but I will NOT return if I have to deal with someone so rude and uninviting. Update: I spoke to corporate and he was very nice. He reassured me that my next visit would be better and I agree it was. The manager that was rude to me was surprisingly pleasant and the food was good! They did not wait to settle matters. I appreciate that!

Two friends and I met at the Germantown Corner Bakery this morning for breakfast. We will not be going back. The woman taking our order was unaware of what we wanted even though it was on the menu. Our meals never arrived and another customer overheard us talking about it. We started comparing notes and found that she’s had terrible experiences at this location but was giving it one last try. Her meal finally arrived — cold to the touch. She went to find out about getting fresh hot meals and talked to someone on our behalf. Our meals finally arrived but with no silverware and missing items. Asked for skim milk and got soy. I could go on and on but you get the idea. One employee tried to help us so I’m giving one star.

Good customer service but terrible management and food. Took about 20 minutes for a panini in an empty store and received a piece of bread with two slices of tomato in it. Save your money and go elsewhere it is a waste of time here

I actually like Corner Bakery, but just not this location. Two big reasons: 1) The Euro Coffee(dark roast) — I came here back to back days and both times the coffee wasn’t even close to dark roast. In fact, we gave the regular coffee a try and it was darker. I’ve had the euro coffee at other locations and have always said Corner Bakery has the best coffee. Not the case at this location. 2) Breakfast — We came here at noon and understandably there was no breakfast items available on the menu. At other locations, they still serve you certain breakfast items. At this location, they do not. In fact, they unnecessarily lie about why they can’t serve you breakfast. «We ran out. we got raided this morning». So you mean you guys were so busy you guys don’t even have an egg or a slice of rye? A bit confused with the explanation. Do you mean to say«we do not serve breakfast after 11:30am at this location»? This location obviously needs some additional training. =(

I regularly get breakfast here. Consistently good, friendly service, and reasonable price. I suggest downloading their app for free stuff. Some of the older posts knock them pretty hard but I’ve always been satisfied.

We’ve now been waiting 40 minutes for two breakfast sandwiches. This place has a great location that they are squandering. I actually feel bad for them – the staff are in need of training and better management. Husband is now on his way on to get a refund and we’ll go somewhere else. (The iced tea is good and quick because we got it ourselves)

–I had the spinach salad and had to go back to ask for the accompanying crisp –My daughter had the BBLT sandwich and didn’t get ANY side(I think it should have come with a pickle and a choice of chips or carrots) –My other daughter had the scrambled eggs and said they were cold and the toast was too ‘chewy’ –The cashier was neither friendly, nor cooperative The Corner Bakery in Rio Washingtonian Center recently got renovated/renewed and last time I was there, the staff was almost TOO friendly, but the Germantown staff can learn something from them!

I am not sure why they only have a 2.5 rating? I came in and was greeted promptly and pleasantly. I placed my order for a BBLT and a strawberry banana smoothie. The cashier smiled and handed me my number, I sat down, the restaurant is very clean and nicely appointed. One of the 3 servers brought my lunch to me with in 10 minutes and she was very nice. The BBLT was very good, the bacon was cooked crisp but not overly, the lettuce and tomatoes tasted fresh. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to everyone, at least for lunch.

We were really excited to try this place for the first time. The menu was appealing, and there was a line to the door(which can be a good sign, if people are willing to wait!). I will note that the options are limited if you are vegetarian, and nill if you are vegan. After we ordered, we found a(clean?) table. There were a number of tables waiting to be bussed. The condiment containers were all gross, and a lot of things needed to be restocked on the condiment/drink/silverware counter. Our food came out cold, and my «side of potatoes» was teeny tiny(about 10 home fries total). Needless to say, we were disappointed.

I used to frequent panera bread until I stumbled across corner bakery. Food is absolutely amazing, establishment is always clean and staff are super friendly. There are a variety of things to choose from – I advise everyone to try their green tea tropical, it’s very refreshing. My only complaint is that food is a A bit pricy.

Ordered pancakes and they tasted like onions and other spices. The only other time I’ve been to one of these was at Montgomery mall years ago. I had a similar experience with a sandwich that had an odd flavor. The people here are nice but the quality going into cooking needs some«advise» or other.

Good food, nice kid’s meals, friendly service, fast prep, but the ordering can be slow. The grilled shrimp option in the evening is excellent. For $ 4 they add two flavorful grilled skewers(8 shrimp) to your entrée. The current version of Corner Bakery(CB) isn’t what it used to be. They are a less appealing Panera but with an an attempt at more home cooked menu items. I remember the first time I went to a CB15 years ago… it was the one down at Rio, man that was good. It was like an American version of La Madeleine… shelves of delicious fresh backed bread, excellent side dishes and a chow line that let you look at it all and point at what you wanted. It was great. I suppose the competition from the more efficient Panera was too much and they re-invented themselves, to our loss. The charm used to be that you could smell the fresh baked items and see the food being prepared, that’s gone. That bit of nostalgia aside, the food is good! They also make a nice latte(ask for it in a mug, instead of a to-go cup, and it is much more enjoyable). The pastas are good, the salads are very large and flavorful, and the service is quick. The ordering, as I mentioned, is always kind of slow in the evening. The place isn’t crowded but there is always only one person working the register who never seems to really know the menu, so it takes longer than it should to place your order. I’m not sure if it does enough business to pay the rent at this prime location, but I hope it lasts. At least until the next time CB re-invents itself. It’d be nice if they could bring the bakery back to the front of the restaurant. It’s what brings us in!
