This is about their new location in the Festival shopping center on Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg. They make the best Samosas I have ever eaten anywhere, any place, anytime! So often, samosas are oil-laden, heavy, and the fillings are dry and lumpy, like the chef got bored cutting potatoes and said«Hey, giant chunks are just as good as smaller ones, so what if they are as big as people’s mouths!» At Curry Place in Gaithersburg, they aren’t oily at all, the wrapping is tender and delicious and the filling is well spiced and flavorful. The Mo: Mo are fabulous, love the sauce, love the steamed version best. The curry and butter chicken were really tasty too. They also have brown rice, which I really like. This restauraant is a hidden gem. Try it soon!

Let it snow let it snow let it snow. Damn today was a sick day. I didn’t want to go to work so I told em I’m taking the day off. Then I took a four hour nap, ran 6 miles, and did 2 hours of yoga. Now I’m catching up on Unilocal reviews long overdue. Then I’ll catch up on some books and hit the sack. Alright this place is okay. Ugh I’m frankly tired of eating out at Indian restaurants because none of them are good enough for me. I need to go to Edison, New Jersey for sure. I got the aloo gobhi per usual, and my friend got some chicken swag. Blasé Blasé it was okay man. Not much else to say. You should make some Indian friends. GuLAB jaMUN

Prices are good, atmosphere is nice. Seems more like a takeout place to me. Not my favorite Indian restaurant but will do if you’re nearby!

Carry-out and delivery are my family’s go-to options for CP. BroS and the Nephew have been ordering from their menu ever since they first opened and now I’m a fan as well. Nephew has a favorite dish and they’re familiar w/his request — aloo mutter only w/potatoes and peas, no paneer(cheese), and curry-style. Perfect every time. When he’s happy, so too are we. Thank ye for the accommodation. Two thumbs up for their hearty chicken soup. Lentil-based w/chopped chicken and herbs. Very pleasing. Repeat-worthy. Fangirl moment here. The bro and I as a duo pick chicken vindaloo due to the fiery yet comforting sauce. Ginger, garlic, and potatoes meld well in this tasty spicy entrée. For us, it’s a kick without numbing the palate. Timeless curry chicken is worth a try for those who prefer a more traditional«doesn’t-taste-like-burning» sauce. Nephew-approved. He’s partial to mild sauces. I really like their naan — really, really. The specks of black sesame seeds are fun to see while tearing through the fluffy flatbread. Our orders are always packaged securely and when delivering, they’re consistent within the estimated time of arrival. A worthy local casual eatery.

The place just isn’t very good. I just came back from living abroad and regularly eating Indian food and was desperate to find something to hold me over while I am back. I drove 30 minutes to get here. Good Indian food is colorful, vibrant, aromatic, and delicious. This place was bland and lacked most of those qualities. Despite its location, I was hoping for better.

There’s a lot of indian reataurants in Germantown, but my wife and I found this to be the best in terms of carryout. The prices are solid, the chicken lollipops are incredibly flavorful, the Naan is made fresh; can’t really ask for much else in the area. I would recommend(and have) this place to friends, family, and fellow Unilocalers. Do yourself a favor and grab a bite from this place!

Love this place. I actually came across this spot because of Unilocal. So to my fellow Unilocalers thanks! Food is amazing. And the garlic naan is to die for. This has definitely become a regular place for me whether it’s to dine in or take out.

This place was the best till they opened up spice grill and other restaurants. But this is a Nepalese cuisine and this is the only Nepalese cuisine around here. Certain dishes are good and those who love buffet, this is a good deal as others. I am not a big fan of buffet because sometimes I feel buffet food is not fresh. But I could be wrong on this. Also the manager Ashok knows how to treat his customers… 8 out of 10.

The second I walked in and didn’t smell that strong aroma of curry accompanied by other rich spices gave me the impression that to food wasnt authentic. The buffet is only open for lunch, which was a bummer, but understandable. I ordered the chicken tikka masala along with Vegetable Samosa, samosa chat and naan. The food arrived quickly. I think that the samosa appetizers tasted okay, but lacked spices. It tasted kind of sweet and the presentation was sloppy. The chicken tikka Masala tasted good, but reminded me more of just regular chicken in creamy sauce, hints of tomato and heavy with salt. It just didn’t remind me of the strong Indian flavors/spices I’m used to tasting at other Indian restaurants.

I’ve been a huge fan of this place since they opened. It’s hard to go wrong with the buffet, although the(slightly pricier) weekend version has a few extras you won’t find during the week(e.g., gulab jamun). All of the buffet items have just the right amount of spice for the average person(I am not among this number– I prefer to nuke my tongue on a daily basis). The menu items don’t disappoint, either. I recommend the chili chicken and the ghost pepper curry. Despite the name, the latter isn’t actually all that hot. Maybe they’re just adding the ghost of a ghost pepper. The only negative thing I can come up with is the bones in the goat curry. The curry is delicious– maybe the best or second best thing they serve. The problem is that some of the bone fragments are on the smaller side, and you might mistake one for a tender morsel of sauce-covered goat. Umm, munch, slurp, crunch. Wait, crunch? OW!

The best kept secret in Germantown. No frills dining but the food is great. I suggest the lunch buffet that way you can sample several dishes. I’ve had the buffet before and everything was delicious. Their tandoori chicken is the best I’ve had. The chicken was moist and flavorful. Rosemary naan is exceptional also the butter chicken. Ample parking and easy to get to. A definite must try if you live Indian cuisine.

I love this place, it’s easy to get to and next to a wine store, so you can place an order for takeout and grab some wine. The food is great and the service is on point. So many good options, you can’t go wrong.

I’ve seen Curry Place while patronizing other shops in the shopping center but never bothered to stop in. What a mistake! My husband and I decided to treat ourselves after a hard week of work, and we both agree that the Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala dishes were among the best we’ve had. The wait time to receive the ordered meal items was was reasonable and not too long. The restaurant interior is on the small side, but there is plenty of room for couples or for larger families. Everything was clean and the staff was polite. We will definitely be going back for dinner again, and we look forward to trying the lunch buffet!

More 3.5 than 3. The food is good but my aunt says the quantity has gone down quiet a bit. We had the chilli paneer which was good but the panner was a little tough. The corn palak was great and they do give you a good serving of rice. The chole was good too and we asked them if they could tone down the garlic. They were very accommodating and did so.

I love the food, the buffet is awesome and at the price it is well worth it. This place is just to good to be true. Whenever I’m in the area and I’m craving Indian food, this is my first choice.

We were trying to avoid spicy-hot foods because our 7-year-old can’t handle it; do NOT believe your waitress if she tells you there are only 2 items that are spicy. We got mixed kebabs(which were delicious for the adults and older kid) but only the tandoori chicken wasn’t too spicy for the younger kid. The restrooms are immaculate. My kids were fascinated(?) by the Indian(?) music videos playing on the giant TV screen.

Very quaint restaurant in a storefront in a strip mall, and sparsely decorated inside. That said, the staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal, and the portion sizes are quite generous. As for the food, we started with the paneer tikka, which was very good– the yogurt sauce really made this dish. We ordered plenty of naan– the rosemary garlic naan sounded good, but you really couldn’t taste the rosemary. The garlic naan was prefect though. For my entrée, I decided to try something new, having never had Indo-Chinese before, and got the chicken hakka noodles. It was a great blend of ingredients, with just the right amount of kick to it without being overpowering. Its a good option in the area for Indian/Asian fusion cuisine.

One of my all time favorite places to get Indian take out. It’s one of those small, tucked away places with great food. I’ve tried several of their dishes, and amongst my favorites are the Chili Paneer, the spicy«Ghost» chicken and lamb curries(made with Ghost peppers, yum), the salmon tikki, the chicken tikki, and the staff chicken curry. Not only is the food reasonably priced and yum, they also customize it upon request. So if you want to increase or reduce the amount of spice in a dish, for example, they will be happy to accommodate you. Overall, this continues to be my favorite(and most frequented) indian restaurant in the Rockville/Gaithersburg/Germantown area.
