Once you leave the road well traveled, you will be able to find the gems, such as the Opatz’s Route 128 Winery tasting room. Situated in the village of Geyserville next to an antique shop and directly across the street from a REAL old fashion mercantile. Lorna will warmly welcome you and after a your first taste of her wine, you will have already become friends and you will begin to wonder why you ever visit those snooty, pretentious, over priced wineries. There is even a regulation shuffleboard for your enlightening entertainment. Do yourself a big favor the next time you are in Healdsburg– drive the 8 miles to Lorna’s and tell her I sent you.

Lorna and Pete are the BEST!!! The newly remodeled tasting room is large and beautiful! The shuffleboard table is a great addition and every wine is perfect especially the Viognier and the Petite Sarah — a great name for their Petite Syrah. Love love love these people and this place! And the wine!!!

Big fan of this little winery’s tasting room tucked in off the“main drag” in Geyserville. Lorna who operates the tasting room is so friendly and knowledgeable. The wines are delicious and very reasonably priced for this Alexander Valley gem.

THEBESTOFTHEBEST. Route 128 is not only has the best wine, but also the best wine tasting experience you can find! If you are looking for a small, personal tasting where you feel right at home, this is the place to go. I’ve sent many co-workers, friends and visitors here, all who come back with rave reviews on both the wine and the overall experience. Just beware, if you stop by Route128 tasting room, you may never want to leave…

Really nice people! I’ve been here a few times, and I have to say that the owners are great. They are often behind the bar and will take their time to talk to you about the winery, the vineyards, and the process that goes into their wine. It really makes you feel like you get to know the history behind what you are drinking. They try and answer any question you have, and trust me, I had a few! As for their wine, I like their Syrah, and get a few bottles every time I go. If you are in the area, it’s worth a stop by!

Small, friendly wine tasting room. Lulu was great and knows a lot about the area having grown up in Sonoma. Wines are grown by her husband who also worked at St. Francis winery for many years.

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting this unique and friendly tasting room on multiple occasions. I find the staff(particularly Lorna and Pete) extremely helpful and knowledgeable. These people know their wines, and know how to retain the essence of locality and family that I’m afraid is lost nowadays in the wine business. I recommend their red blend«Petelu» i believe… an extraordinary mix. With their charming tasting room, Route 128 should definitely be on your wine stop list if your in the Healdsburg/Geyserville areas. Did i mention their wines are award winning… need you more reasons.

Route 128 is unprecedented in wine and hospitality. The small and cozy tasting room in Cloverdale should be your first stop on a day of sightseeing and sipping. Pete & Lorna are the best hosts in the Valley and the wine is yumm-o!

The viogner and the people are exceptionally nice. The tasting room is small, but the owner kept walking around and refilling my glass no matter where I ended up. Well worth getting off the beaten path.

Great wines. Really personable owners. We bought 2 bottles: one zin(which I love) and one syrah — we’ll be back for sure. Great addition to Geyserville. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!

I had a delicious bottle of the Route 128 Viogier and the Rose while i was having a great time at the Geyserville friday Night Market in downtown Geyserville. The folks who own the tasting room/winery are so wonderful; I just love going and visiting with Pete and Lorna! Stop by, they are open Thursday through Sunday until 6! It’s easy to miss them so be sure you watch for Aj’s market and turn in, there is plenty of parking.
