FYI, their tasty, fried bone-in chicken, makes for great leftovers the next day when you warm them up in the oven. Spending 40 bucks here at Popeyes, can feed 3 people for 2 days. I also believe that Popeye’s gets their chicken from a different supplier than KFC, or Church’s because they are tastier, and actually, perhaps a bit smaller, because they’re younger chickens. A special recognition for Francis, Aleecia, and Anthony. I take for granted sometimes the proficiency with which folks must execute their challenging job tasks and solve problems. My advice is keep on listening to your customers, and especially employees. Listening to me makes you better but you’re certainly doomed if you don’t listen to what employees on the frontline everyday have to say. I’m even more impressed than ever with the new completely remodeled from-the-ground-up Gladstone location on Antioch Rd that just grand re-opened. As always, it’s the best fried chicken breast you can get, & as far as fried chicken in general goes, for the money, it’s the most hunger-satisfying fast food for your money out there. I couldn’t even cook my OWN fried chicken at HOME, for that much money, can you?! Part of the Louisiana kitchen is all about making people happy with food. There is a special atmosphere in this environment when I eat-in where people really care about each other. It truly does warm my heart that I get to see we still have them in our community when I go eat Popeye’s! My advice is, to keep it up. It’s not easy, but anything worth doing rarely ever is. In the words of Master Yoda, «Try not. Do; or do not. There is no try.» Between you and me, if there’s anybody in fast food industry that deserves $ 14 an hour, it would be the people at Popeye’s Chicken. My logical reasoning is this, if I have to wait for food, at least that means it’s fresh. To some of the other commenters, I completely understand if you have waited for a half-hour for cold food, but when it comes to deep-fat-fried items, I’ve never minded the wait. Rationally, unless you call ahead with a heads up(they answer their phone by the way), you can’t expect to orderup 3 dozen spicy chicken legs and expect them to, either 1.) be fresh, ready AND waiting, or 2.) them to not have to drop them in the oil at least a few of them, and cook them for you, Right then and there. Another consideration, is, within the weeks following opening day, I had overheard a couple of gentlemen working at this location discussing how to reduce wait times, sitting down, talking, with pen and pad in front of them. They are aware of the logistics of it, and I’m glad. Marcus Limozian, the host, and investor from the MSNBC hit television show«The Profit,» puts an emphasis on the 3 P’s People, Process and Product. The biggest emphasis he puts, is on the people. Without people, you don’t have a business. There is no substitute for Customer Service. You have some customers who will never be satisfied — Let’s face it. However, many people will be the first to be quick with complaints, but I don’t want to hear them complain if it’s not accompanied with a solution. JFK said if you can create a problem, you can create a solution. We are all people here, and no one on earth wakes up in the morning wanting to do a horrible job. To quote one more movie, «Popeye’s Chicken is the ShizzzzzNit!” — –«Li’l Nicky,» starring Adam Sandler

It took 34 minutes from the time I paid for my order to the time I received my food for carryout. After 20 minutes(on a busy night so I wasn’t horribly unhappy about the first 20 minutes), my ticket number was called and I was informed the kitchen«hadn’t dropped» the spicy chicken fingers I had ordered and it would be another 5 – 10 minutes. Long story short… again 34 minutes to receive my food at a fast-food restaurant. No apology, nothing. Horrible service.

My first time coming here and never doing it again. I asked for the Cajun surf and turf and they ran out of shrimp so they so «kindly» gave me 2 extra chicken strips that were smaller than my pinky. They didn’t even bother telling me they ran out before I ordered it. I simply went up and asked about it nicely and the lady was kind of rude about. Definitely not worth it to come here. Maybe I’ll try a different Popeyes or just go to KFC. I actually decided to change my review to 2 stars because the food was still pretty good and my husband enjoyed his meal. They should probably just reconsider the workers here.

My husband, son and I went through the drive thru to get dinner this evening and were asked to pull forward. After 25 minutes and 4 other cars going through, a lady brought out our order, incomplete. So my husband went back inside to get the rest of our order which took another 10 minutes to get a large fry. By the time we got home our food was cold. Tried contacting the store and the line was either busy or no one bothered to answer. Tried the 24 hour Customer Service line and got put on hold for 23 minutes so I went online and sent message through their website. Horrible service, nonexistent management. Avoid this place at all cost. $ 40 down the drain for dinner. There are other Popeyes in the area, avoid this one at all cost.

I found myself at Popeye’s unexpectedly tonight. I was with a van full of family and had no desire to cook. When Popeye’s was suggested I was game. I hadn’t been to this location or any location in YEARS. We walked in and there was a bad odor. Was it dirty mop water? If it wasn’t, it was close. I went ahead and ordered the daily special for the kids(chicken strips, fries, and a biscuit for 2.99) and myself a 2 piece with mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was okay, the biscuit was okay, the instant mashed potatoes… were okay. See the theme? Mediocre food+bad smell= 2 stars

This was the first popeyes I ate at in the metro when I moved up from New Orleans. Surprisingly enough, this was the one institution that allowed me to survive my first year here in KC. For those that don’t know, Popeyes ISLIFE in New Orleans and I can’t stress enough how my fellow Louisiana folks and I are so attached to this bonanza of fried chicken. Let me also add that I appreciate the fact that this location also has a drive-thru which is pretty convenient.
