Sorry to say but a horrible experience(despite a great waiter). 1:15 minutes to get our food — after 30 minute wait to get in. And the food was just horrible. Wilted lettuce and coal(fried potatoes from bottom of the fryer?) on one entre and omelet seriously burnt(on one side — hidden). N/C as we left(did tip the server) but a horrible waste of our time and no manager to offer explanation or apology. Guess they were short staffed in the kitchen and others covering. Doubt the managers/owners even know.

Went today for the 2nd time. It was just two of us, we were sat right away. Yet we waited 50 minutes for a soup and ½ a chicken salad sandwich and a burger. No explanation nor apology for the wait. Sandwich was missing half of the requested toppings, but had no time to wait for a mulligan. I really, really, liked this place last time, but was very disappointed today. Probably won’t be back.

This place is really good. Just make sure if you plan on going for a weekend brunch or a time when it may be busy, prepare to wait. It isn’t very big inside, and people know it is good, so it has always had a line when I show up.

The menu is a bit overwhelming with so many choices but some people like that– I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. We tried the taco of the day with steak and peppers and sriracha sauce. Delish! The burger was amazing with jalapeño bacon and sweet potato fries. I was so full I couldn’t finish the burger but it makes for great leftover lunch. My son had Asian BBQ wings — will definitely be back for more.

Absolutely delicious. The staff was funny and courteous. Your food takes a little bit longer than most restaurants to get out, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. The menu is very unique and pairs flavors your wouldn’t always expect, yet it’s always delicious.

There is nothing on this menu that isn’t amazing. I always try to order something different and I’m never disappointed — even with the most basic items, the Spicy people know what they’re doing. If you’ve never been here before, beware: there WILL be a wait for a table(probably a line out the door if it’s raining or snowing, too) and you will wait for your food to be ready, too. This is one of the pro/cons about a good restaurant; they cook to serve, so everything is made fresh and that can take some time. Do not be discouraged — it will be more than worth the wait! This may come across as a hipster place. They’re effortlessly cool, with funky-named menu choices, some things a little off the beaten path, and so many different types of art on the wall that your head may spin. They do things like bourbon tastings and then serve omelettes the next day. They keep you guessing. But, oh, it’s so worth fighting for parking, waiting in line, and debating over which menu item to pick this time.

I like this place. Atmosphere/Décor: CUTE! colorful, fun and comfortable, Indoor and out door seating. Service: Wonderful! We had Jay I think.(Young, adorable with dark hair) Jay and the other services were attentive and super sweet. Food: I am an omelet fan! SO. I had to order their steak and cheese version. It was amazing. I had it with grilled croissant, and I believe the call it buffi potatoes(blue potato, sweet potato and regular potato) deep fried to golden perfection)!!! Finally, I breakfast/lunch place I can brag about with friends back home in RI!

We stopped by for take out this weekend. The atmosphere although compact is funky and cool. We started off with the Soft Shell Crab sliders. We ordered the Veggie Lovers and Tonight’s Catch dinners. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The Veggie Lovers dinner which is Vegan was very good as well. It does take awhile to get your food however it is worth the wait. We will be back…

I’ve had two recent and excellent breakfasts at The Spicy Green Bean. I’ll tell you all about it. First let me say that the staff is delightful and they treat everyone like a friend. The menu has something for everyone from savory to sweet. For my first breakfast we started out with the tiny donut appetizer. I’m always hungry and I was so happy to see a breakfast menu with 3 appetizers on it! The donuts were harder than I expected them to be but flavorful(like apple cider donuts). For my meal I ordered the Chicken in a Biscuit which was fried chicken, two eggs, a biscuit and sausage gravy. It was delicious and I was so full at the end of it, but barely made a dent in it. My wife had the roasted vegetable omelet and loved all of it. On our next visit the wife had the same thing as the first time(loving it all over again). This time I ordered the Down in the Bayou benedict but with scrambled eggs. This is a huge piece of delicious corn bread piled with tasty, lean pulled pork, two eggs, barbeque sauce and a cheesy sauce on top of that. Very, VERY good. Now, if you don’t know me personally you may not know that I can eat a lot. Both of the breakfasts I had here could seriously be on Man Vs. Food because I didn’t come close to finishing either of them. Not only did I not finish them but I was full until DINNER! That’s some filling stuff right there. The Spicy Green Bean is a gem. If you like good food and nice people, you will love it. I look forward to trying their lunch and dinner items in the near future.

So good! There were so many amazing options that I’m upset I don’t live closer to go back everyday! Only went for lunch but I’m sure lunch wouldn’t disappoint! Loved getting a table that had a view of the kitchen and watching the chefs work!

Let’s start from the beginning: I’ve been wanting to try The Spicy Greenbean for awhile now. But due to my hectic work schedule, it just never worked out. So this morning it finally works out and I call up for takeout due to it being peak Sunday brunch hours. The woman on the phone sounded as though she was going out of her way to take my order, and that I was being a nuisance for ordering takeout. I tried to not let this bother me, and ruin my first experience with them. I get there, and twice I almost get mowed down by the servers when I’m carefully trying to get to the back of the restaurant to pick up my to-go order. The gentleman that was cashing out my order was pleasant and nice, but that’s where it ends. I try to leave and again with the almost crashing into me by a server. I get home, which only takes 5 minutes, and the fries are lukewarm and soggy. The burger melt was delicious and the only thing that is saving this review from getting a lower score. This will be both my first and last time I visit The Spicy Greenbean. Thanks, but no thanks!

This place is amazing! We had a relatively short wait on a Sunday morning for a table for 2. We had been studying the menu trying to make decisions before waitress arrived and realized each of us had only managed to narrow it down to 4 dishes each. Both of us decided that we live close and could come back to try the rest of the menu so we ended up order the croque dish which was amazing! I also got a side of new ranch hollandaise sauce since I had chosen not to get an eggs Benedict dish. It was delicious. The cheese sauce and the over easy eggs were a Great touch on the dish! I would 100% get the same dish again, but first I have to try 3 different eggs Benedicts and at least 2 of the omelet dishes.

My husband was surprised, when he found out that I had never been to the SGB. Even though I was raised in Glastonbury, I hardly ever ate there. My parents always took us to far away restaurants. Who knew that this little restaurant, tucked between a Chinese restaurant and a wine shop, would boast so much pizazz? From the beautifully painted windows, to the eclectic wall art, to the crazy décor… it screams modern and fun. The waitstaff was super friendly and interacted with the customers, like they were family. The parking is a little tight, but what do you expect from a busy, well loved establishment? There is a narrow driveway, next to the building, but it’s safer to go down Concord Street, and pull in behind the building. We arrived 30 minutes after they opened, and the place was almost to capacity. We opted for the bar height tables, in the back by the kitchen. We loved our seats, we were able to see all the action, and it wasn’t as loud as the main dining area. The young man who seated us, quickly brought coffees and water to the table. Our waitress happily offered to put our son’s order in first, but we already had our sights on the fresh made donuts. Shortly after our orders were put in, the donuts showed up. Today’s version was drizzled with chocolate. Still hot from the fryer and rolled in cinnamon and sugar, my son grabbed one as soon as it hit the table! A smile covered in chocolate, cinnamon and sugar, was the seal of approval from my little guy. We ordered the silver dollar pancakes for our son. When they were brought to the table, they looked to be more like softball size! I ordered the Green Shroom, a sandwich on toast, made with spinach, mushrooms, egg, bacon and cheese. The sandwich was amazing, as were the multicolored potato homefries. My husband got the«Wrong Choice». This was the wrong name for this sandwich… because it was the right choice for him! I have never seen anything like this. A sandwich made between two crispy hashbrowns with a crazy mix of a burger, egg, cheese, jalapeño bacon, lettuce, tomato, pepper relish, banana pepper and Sriracha ketchup. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. There are so many interesting things on their menu, that I want to try!

I’ve been here twice now and have had a solid experience both times. The burgers are really out of this world, especially the Cuban burger. The soup I had(something Polish with cabbage) was good, not great, but good, and my sandwich(the house roast beef on sourdough) was exactly what I wanted it to be: piled high with meat and with fresh mozzarella! The French fries are also yummy. Skip the onions rings though, they were a disappointment. Overall, I like the cozy and eclectic atmosphere and the food combinations and choices. There’s definitely something new to try for every visit!

I came here with a friend at lunch time. We were here on lunch break and I really enjoyed the food I had here. Regarding the food, we each ordered a sandwich with a set of sides. I had a turkey dinner special, which was sliced turkey with cranberry sauce and stuffing on a sandwich. My sides were the potato salad and the mac and tuna. I enjoyed all of it. The turkey dinner special sandwich was so good that I was kind of sad to see it finished. I liked the sides, but they weren’t really anything to write home about. That said, what I really wasn’t a fan of was the wait. We got in at roughly 11:20 and didn’t leave until 1. Our order seemed like it took about 40 minutes to fill and we even noticed other tables that came after us getting their food before us. Overall, I found the food good, but the service slow. If I were to buy food from here again(which is actually really quite good), I would order take out.

I came for the duck rings, I had the duck rings, and they are the closest thing to heaven this side of poutine. My girlfriend had the popcorn soup and she will never make red curry the same way again. It’s a little on the salty side but the popcorn cuts it perfectly. Service was very personalized and reasonable for a crowded lunchtime. The atmosphere is cozy but everyone fits and there’s a back room that appeared to have more space. Maybe it doesn’t, I didn’t look too closely. Two negatives. Price is a bit high on some items. Duck rings are definitely worth the $ 12. The popcorn soup is good but iffy at $ 6. $ 3 for iced tea is way too high, even with refills. They use Newman’s lemonade so I understand the higher price for that. Price alone wouldn’t knock down a full star. In this case, it was my girlfriend’s chicken-topped loaded salad. It advertised as grilled chicken but came out as thick cut deli meat that may have touched a grill for 5 seconds. That was a surprising lack of quality in a place that produces such great food otherwise. Want that fifth star? Earn it with consistency. Match the quality of all of your food to the prices you charge and it’s yours. Judging from the number of customers, I’m sure your business model can support it.

It was very busy for Sunday Brunch; however, my party of three was seated fairly quickly. The service was great in the beginning, but after the food was served the server never came back to check on how we were doing or see if we were finished. I had to find another staff member to get boxes and the check. The portions were generous and the food was good. I will definitely be returning to see what else they have to offer.

Spicy Green Bean is a creative sandwich restaurant with offerings they refer to as «Koocky Konknoctions» made to order. As you walk in you’ll notice that the dining room is very eclectic and vibrant. The red paint and zest wall décor gives the place a cozy and fun vibe. I started with the Asiago Lemon Chicken and it was scrumptious! It was creamy, well cooked, and plentiful. The asiago cheese was not too powerful and blended well with the fragrant flavors of citrus and poultry. Great start to my meal. I then tried the Wing it Melt from the Kooky Konkoctions menu and it was good. It’s a grilled cheese sandwich with pulled chicken, wing sauce, and… ACOCADOS! Yum. My boyfriend got the Gobbler turkey sandwich and we both weren’t too impressed with it, but that’s also because we had high expectations(and were spoiled as undergrads by a great turkey sandwich at UConn). I liked the cranberry sauce but I didn’t think the bread held up the sandwich well and I couldn’t really get a taste of the herb stuffing. By the time we finished the soup and sandwich, we didn’t really have room for the sides that came with the sandwich. They are pretty basic sides(pasta salad, potato salad, Asian noodles, Tuna mac&cheese) but that’s okay because the show stopper is really the sandwich itself. What really blew me away about this place was the service. Tracy was such a doll!!! We came during an awkward hour between lunch and dinner so the place was empty and Tracy was busy sweeping and getting ready for the dinner crowd. But she just had soo much energy and we could tell that she really cared for the place and took pride in it. When a server displays that much love, how could you not give them 5 stars! I can’t wait to return for those BYOB dinners!
