I am so going to miss them, what a great place! The crowd was very pleasant, the mood was great for romantic evenings, live jazz, the waiters very friendly, excellent food, divine deserts and great deals some nights too. So sad they closed.

THEYARECLOSED as of 6⁄2011!!! I only ate there once and loved it. I work right across the street and unfortunately they have shut their doors. They were in a tough location that has constant turnaround for restaurants. Sad to see them go.

Lets get something straight right here… I give this restaurant a 4 and a half stars but there’s no option for that. Going into the restaurant I knew exactly what I wanted and it was everything and more of what I wanted and expected. I had gone to the website and checked out the menu and saw they had Linguini Fra Diablo which worked out perfectly cause it was a Friday during lent. The bowl of pasta was huge and it came with three large scallops, four clams and four shrimp and a bunch of mussels. My friend got a dish of scallops that only came with 5 scallops so I feel I got the better deal, as long as you’re ok with a little spice. The sauce was very good and I enjoyed eating some bread with it that they gave free with the meal. The soups looked very good and were big as well. Everything is pretty expensive but I believe it’s worth it due to the portion size. Some of the sides for my friends meals were not so good so that’s why it doesn’t get a five. I’d go back if people wanted to go with me. Service was good by my standards, they spaced out the food well to give us time to talk and digest.

Stopped in here for a business dinner on a Monday evening(yes, I know not the best night). First impression was — hey, they didn’t change the Bennigan’s décor — ATALL. Second, they staffed the restaurant with only 1 waitress. While not all that busy, and she was very competent, service was VERY slow. Wine selection was pretty good, antipasti was great. I chose the Paella and found it to be surprisingly good. Prices were a bit high, I thought. I know Agelico’s from their East Hampton location(Angelico’s Lake House), which has a similar un-focused broad-brush menu as Angelico’s on the Boulevard. I’d say once they get the kinks worked out, this place might be ok in the long-haul. It’s convenient for out-of-towners staying at one of the hotels across the street, though you also have Max Fish and Max Amore to choose from — which in my book offer high quality than Angelico’s on the Boulevard.

CLOSED:( I’m a fan of Angelico’s happy hour. I haven’t been for any other meal, but the $ 3 happy hour quesadilla is better than most happy hour quesadillas around! Also a good house Pinot Noir.

We had a very nice experience. We were there at 7:00 on a Friday and it was very dead in there, which had us concerned. The service was very prompt and attentive. I ordered the scallops with a carrot and potato purée with a touch of raspberry. It was delicious. My husband ordered the lasagna, which he loved and he normally doesn’t like meat in his lasagna. The meat wasn’t overpowering. I think they must’ve changed the look of their menu, because it wasn’t a sheet of manila. It was a very pretty orange portfolio. The menu selection was very good. I’m a little concerned on how long this place will be around, because a Friday night should be full in Glastonbury. I’ll definitely go back, assuming it’s still there.

We’ve only been there once so perhaps it has improved since opening, but we had a few issues with it: — the service was less than stellar, — the menu seemed to try to be fancy, but the resulting food was a C at best and very salty, — & the décor was nothing special. All-in-all, it has the feel of a standard family chain-restaurant, which is very different from Angelico’s on the Lake in my opinion. I hope they get better because I love supporting family-run businesses in the area.

Overall — can’t imagine I’ll go back. Not terrible… but where to start… First appearances are pretty good. Nice outward appearance, nice wood-grained classy-ish look to the inside. But wait… is that a band in this relatively open place? Menu — The menu,(which is a cheap single-sheet manila paper — I realize this is becoming a common style, but I hate it) doesn’t match the feel of the place or the items listed, and at first glance had too many complex dishes but very few simple/comfortable ones. Bouillabaisse, Cassoulet and Paella immediately stood out. That’s rarely a good sign. Combine that with there being multiple menus and the ability to choose from the lunch menu after 8pm for some reason(both on that 11×17 card-stock)… Food — The food was mediocre. The pork sandwich’s focaccia was a rock, the pork itself was too sweet, and the plantain was undercooked and green. The paella, which I was also lucky(?) enough to try was not good either. Pricing — Pricing would be fine in my book if the food was better. I don’t expect a meal in Gbury to be a steal, esp. with some of those menu selections. The entrees average $ 21 approx. Service: The service was spotty. The girl was very sweet, but either new or overworked. Missing silverware, delayed drinks, etc. . At the end the feel is kind of like they couldn’t decide if they wanted a sports bar or a restaurant — either class the place up more(increase the quality and dump the band), or class it down to more of a casual night out place by dropping the menu complexity and fully embracing the live band /sports bar feel.

We finally got around to trying Angelicos on the Boulevard the other night. I didn’t know whether to expect that this would be a fancy restaurant or casual. Overall I’d liken it to Max Amore just down the road — it’s generally business casual type attire. The night we were in the bar had some live entertainment. Unfortunately the separation between the bar and the dining area is almost non-existent so it was a bit noisy. Actually, it was a bit of a shock to walk into the restaurant and be standing almost in the bar(there’s a small area that separates the bar from the entrance) — but holy cow it was noisy. As soon as we sat down my girlfriend remarked about the loudness as well. I’d have concerns about dining here if you were looking to have a quiet business meeting or romantic evening. Perhaps when we return we’ll find it a bit quieter(and we do intend to go back). The food was excellent. I had a caesar salad and the scallops. Great combination that I loved. My girlfriend had the chicken which she also gave two thumbs up. Service was prompt though we were in on a snowy night so there were a few less people than might normally stay there. Another question that we had before trying Angelico’s is whether this is a place you could take the kids. My guess is probably not. While I didn’t specifically look for a children’s menu just by looking around I saw that it was all adults and older teenagers dining with parents. There’s literally been about a half dozen restaurants to open and close in this building. I for one hope that Angelico’s stays around because I’d like to keep going back. We received a voucher for a free drink at brunch which we probably will redeem for a soda while we try out the brunch menu sometime soon. The food was very good. Service prompt. Total bill was about $ 60 for the two of us which is a bit on the high side for an everyday place to eat out but about what I’d expect for a more formal night out.

Went to Angelico’s on the Boulevard for lunch. I wanted to try a range of menu items so I ordered three appetizers — the onion tart(sweet onions, calamata olives, & anchovy finish), gratin of polenta(with spinach and goat cheese, with red wine reduction), and the jumbo lump crab cake(with three pepper coulis). My dining companions ordered the soup sampler, the roast turkey sandwich(with cranberry and brie) and the lime marinated chicken sandwich(with jalapeño, cilantro, bermuda onion, avocado, and corn succotash). Their sandwiches came with the dieter chips. I’ll start with the good. Our waitress Rachel and her trainee Nicola(or Nicolette?) were very gracious and helpful. The restaurant was very clean. My friends both enjoyed their sandwiches and the small cheesecake with cherry jelly(yes, actual jelly) they split for dessert. I didn’t taste their sandwiches or the dessert but did taste one of the soups — the lobster bisque — which I thought was very tasty. I was pretty disappointed with my order. The crab cake was a little too fried and mayonaisse-y. It might just be personal preference, but in a hot crab cake, I don’t think you should be able to see the white creamy mayo — it should just serve to help bind the ingredients together. It was otherwise flavorful. One of my companions tasted it and thought it had a little«kick» to it, though I didn’t really get any heat. The polenta was fine — a little lumpy but for the most part good. The spinach atop the polenta was also fine, as was the goat cheese. The three didn’t seem to complement each other though. Also, the wine reduction was very unappetizing. A good third of it had dried and become sticky on the plate(how far in advance did they ladle it on there?), and the rest had a «skin» on it(as did two of the three soups in the sampler). It tasted just like warm red wine — if it was seasoned, I couldn’t tell. The onion tart(which is more like a flatbread) was piled with onions, mostly soft and mushy — not quite carmelized enough for my taste. There were a couple of olives and a couple of pieces of anchovy — maybe one fish in total — tossed on top(this is an «anchovy finish»?). The whole thing needed salt, and the«tart» was greasy on the bottom. The dieter chips that came with my friends’ sandwiches were okay — as a previous reviewer wrote, they were a little greasy and the gorgonzola on top reminded me of the grated cheese they serve in shakers at pizza joints. So, I probably wouldn’t go here again. If I did, I might order the roast turkey sandwich one of my friends ordered — it looked very good, the turkey, cranberries, and brie all looked fresh and delicious.
