Bonefish Grill

This was my first outing to Bonefish Grill being a Valentine’s treat for my wife. First of all the positives. This is a beautiful restaurant, good service, good bread and water. Now the negatives. My wife got the grilled tilapia, fries, and slaw. She said the tilapia was just ok, the fries soggy, and the slaw tasted terrible. I got the fish & chips. After I got through the heavily breaded layer to the fish, I found it to be tasteless and mushy. The fries were soggy with what seemed like an awful, overpowering blend of seasoning. Within a couple of hours I was sick. I am one who can eat just about anything with no problems, but I can assure you this will be my first an final time to Bonefish Grill.

Bonefish Grill is a safe option, and by safe I mean the food is predictable and generally good. And if you’re trying to be heathy, you’ll have options here.
I am getting over a horrible cold and didn’t feel like cooking, so we tried to find a place to please the family and isn’t too much of an investment in time. We are also trying to eat healthier and with a good seafood menu and options to customize… it works.
For appetizers we elected for the ceviche and seared ahi tuna. We got the large tuna since there were 3 of us. Everything was exactly what we expected.
For entrees my husband elected to polish off the appetizers and share my salmon with pan-​Asian sauce (aka teriyaki) with spinach and broccoli. It was plenty of food for us to share.
For drinks we made it in time for happy hour. He had a draft beer, I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, which was okay but I didn’t love it. So I ordered a stoli and soda and passed the wine to my husband. He was happy to finish it off.

Customer service is excellent! Food is just NOT good quality! Save your money and support a solid local restaurant!

Love bone fish! If I went off my last experience it’d bring it down to a 4 starred but all the other times makes up for it. The food is ALWAYS great, and my service has been good. Place is always clean my only complaint if I had to really pick one is the parking. Otherwise love it and will continue to come back.

I love this place. My husband and I would be content with just Bang Bang shrimp. The entrees are good too. I like fish and my husband got the Kobe beef burger which he deemed great! Adam, our server was superlative. He had to put up with my wicked sense of humor and he did so with kindness and gave us a little back. He is an asset to the restaurant and as it is one of our favorites, we will be back and hope to have Adam as our server!

Worst meal in memory. The shrimp appetizer and the crab chowder were good. Our entrees were a disaster. My wife ordered the salmon special and it was cold and very dry. It came with spaghetti squash (which had not been ordered) and what was supposed to be pumpkin ravioli. The ravioli was wilted, dry and pale. I ordered the lamb chops. They also came cold with the spaghetti squash, not the vegetable sides ordered or shown on the menu. The meat was ordered medium rare but delivered well done. When I inquired about the missing vegetables I was brought, what I would only describe as, day old, dried out potatoes and some broccoli that looked like the cook staff had spilled something on it. Both meals looked as if they had been played by a three year old. The only redeeming part of the meal was our trainee server who did a very nice job. Run away!

First timebat a bonefish grill. Ive heard great things, but i only saw some of those things there. Our waitress was very god and knew her stuff and the drinks were on point. I ordered my steak well done but the whole center was still pink, looked presentable though I’ll give it that. But also loved the bang bang shrimp i highly recommend. Overall with the noise down to the food i give it a 3 star rating.

Mom got the crab cake sandwich was the lunch special. Good portion and tasty. I ordered the pad thai. Good portion but spicier than usual. Had to ask the waiter for a slice of lime because it wasn’t included.

I am giving this rating based of the service. One of their managing partner, Krista reached out to me and sent us two $ 25 gift cards. We went to eat there two weeks ago. Since we went there on a Saturday, the bang bang shrimp deal wasn’t available. I think that is a really good dish. Our server on that day was great. My husband ordered the grilled bass and I ordered the trout. We also ordered two cocktails. Again, the food was just mediocre. We would have been very disappointed if we didn’t have the gift cards. I’ve only been once, but after staying in a local hotel much of last year, I am kicking myself for not trying this place sooner. I had a very late dinner (10:00 pm) and the service was excellent — with the exception of the bartender shutting the TVs off early as if to say «please go home.»
The wild coho salmon (a special) with mango salsa sauce was very good and was cooked perfectly at medium to medium rare. The glass of Charles and Charles cabernet blend was peppery and nice too. I will be back to try more.

First time at Bone Fish and I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the food was great. Service was excellent, you know… at the table right when you need something but not every 5 min «can I get you anthying?» Just enough attention to keep you straight. I had the Bang Bang shrimp, surf and turf and key lime pie. They have happy hour until 6:30. Portions are small, that’s the ONLY thing I can knock them on. But I will definitely go back.

This place is awesome. The ambience is amazing. The staff is incredible wit their reviews and recommendations. Great fir date night. Bit pricey but well worth it. We got appetizers. Highly recommend the
bang bang shrimp, the mussels were amazing, lobster flatbread was yummy too. They have great fish, lobster and any kind of seafood your little heart desires. Can’t recommend this place enough. We went to the short pump location in case you were wondering and loved it. I’d go back everyday if I could afford it.

My boyfriend and I LOOVVEE Bonefish Grill! We have been there MANY times and get great food and service everytime! We always order the Bang Bang Shrimp as an appetizer (its great!!) and today I ordered the Lobster Roll. I wasnt a huge fan of it but it was presented well. I decided to change my side of fries to mashed potatoes and those were average. I would recommend the Lilys Chicken! I have gotten that a couple of times and love it! The fish and chips are also great as well! Our waitress was super friendly and took great care of us. Even though I wasnt too impressed with the food this particular time, my opinion does not change of Bonefish Grill. Its worth the try!!!

Service was pretty decent. Food was ok. 2 of my coworkers had their shrimp salad and had mild food poisoning for the next couple of days though … You have been warned.

I really wanted to be more impressed. The server was great too, but the wait for grilled chicken for a toddler and our food was close to and hour each. By the time the food had gotten to the table I must say I lost my appetite to eat.

Food is consistent because it is a chain restaurant but at this location on this night the service was ridiculously bad. Nice guy but we had to ask for everything and for the most part he was no where to be found. There was an abundance of waitstaff but they seemed much more concerned with each other as they huddled on one corner of the restaurant and socialized, our waiter included. Who manages the floor?

My better half and I are both fairly anti-​chain restaurant, but he had a gift card to use so off to Bonefish we went. I was pleasantly surprised overall by the food and service, though I probably wouldn’t come back here if I were paying myself. I can turn far superior food out of my own kitchen for a quarter of the price.
PROS:
–Our server was excellent, polite and attentive without being overbearing
–Despite being PACKED on a Friday night, the noise level wasn’t too bad
–Nice décor and ambiance, the location seemed clean and well-​kept
–The ceviche — decently fresh, tasty, and abundant for the $ 8.50 price tag
–The wood-​grilled rainbow trout with lemon butter and garlic mashed potatoes — mmm!!!
–The ciabatta-​esque bread with pesto oil for dipping
MEHS:
–Our table was ready about 10 minutes past our 7:30 reservation time (for the love of Pete, do not come here on a weekend night as a walk-​in)
–My pecan and parmesan-​crusted trout. My dining companion loooved it, though.
–The «gratin,» which is more of a «potato chunks in salty mac-​and-​cheese sauce WOO ‘MERICA» situation
–My $ 9 glass of Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
CONS:
–Background music choices were kinda bizarre (clubby Top-​40 stuff)
–I’d like to know about the sustainability of some of their seafood offerings; the information should be right on the menu

They forgot to serve my daughter’s meal. After reminding our server, it came after everyone else was done.
Friendly service. But, skip dining here when they’re busy.

The service is hit or miss at this location. The Midlothian is much bigger to serve the area. Considering that people come all over Richmond and out of state to Short Pump, this location should be much bigger.
While this location does take reservations, not all employees that answer the phone know this which is a fail for this location.
I’d love to see his location take some tips from some of the other larger locations (or other locations in general) to enhance their customer service. Undercover Boss would be a great idea for this location.
