This location is more updated than the other one on staples mill rd. The food is the same, but the newer building, cleaner dining area made it seem so much better. Its a perfect quick seafood spot after the movies across the street if your not wanting to go to a big restaurant but not have to wait to get your food. Th one thing I always appreciate about capn ds is the foods always hot and fresh.

I was so disappointed by the kitchen here. Capt D’s was one of my first jobs and I love taking a trip down memory lane but when you offer me 5 shrimp for $ 1.29, YES I expect all 5. When I noticed I was shorted I went back up to the counter and I don’t fault the front of the house because they didn’t prepare the meal but I could see the individuals from the back look up at me as if I had done something. Then the other individual that I was with received a total of 7 french fries as her side. I don’t know if they were running low or had new people working but I hope that everything improves. The restaurant did appear clean so that was a plus but it was extremely cold in the dinning area.

My rating is more of a 2.5 star than a 3. The restaurant itself is nice, especially on the outside. They ever have a drive thru and a nice outdoor dining area. The inside is quite spacious and clean. The staff is always friendly and the prices are great! Most dishes are between $ 5 and $ 8. I’ve been here a few times and I have absolutely no problem with low priced, low quality food, but certain dishes that they offer just taste horrible. I don’t know if it’s their recipe or maybe there’s too many preservatives in some of the pre-made stuff, but there were a few dished that we’re hard for me to finish. For example, their bread sticks, french fries, and shrimp scampi all had a slight chemical taste. And a lot of the other dishes simply didn’t taste fresh at all. I have not been to any other Captain D’s, so I have nothing to compare this location to. But they definitely have something going on with their food. So with that said, I’d hate to say it, but you’d probably be better off going to Long John Silvers.

Surprisingly good service for captain d’s. Good food and sweet tea. It’s a captain d’s so you know everything is going to be pretty consistent. I can’t complain about this visit. Four stars for the food and staff!

The staff was friendly. The area was clean. Service was prompt and food came out quickly. But, it’s a Captain D’s: lots of fried bland seafood.

I’m sad to say that last visit wasnot the best. I hope it’s because someone that normally does a good job went on vacation or was sick but my fish came out over battered, the meat was thin, and anything that was fried was too greasy. I hope this location returns to the way it was, otherwise I won’t be coming back.

Loved the chicken strips, shrimp and fish strips. Enjoyed very much. The service and ambience is good at this place. Ordered the okra fries as sides and they are very crunchy.

Captain D would have made a lot more money if it were in Santa Monica in LA, Fisherman Wharf in SF, or Mukilteo in Seattle. This type of food is better to have them by the beach so that you feel less guilty eating the fried stuff. I like the lobster balls and seafood gumbo! 4-Star. Hello Ocean!

Not the best seafood place in the west end. My food sadly was a greasy box of mess. I made the mistake of going through the drive-thru. However, I had ordered the grilled tilapia with rice and rolls. I was hoping for a better meal — as I had chosen items on the menu that were healthier options. It is probably better for seafood meals to be handled by restaurants, rather than fast-food joints. The place as moderately clean– with the exception of the bathrooms. The staff were friendly — however, most were occupied with side conversations that it was not professional. And the music was something the older generation would appreciate. Not a first date spot.
