I wish there was a way to give this a higher review! Everything I’ve tried has been really good! Plus the owner is very friendly. His son and daughter are very attentive to your needs as well.

Meh. Came here for breakfast. Biscuits are flavorless, ham wasn’t very tasty, potatoes were good but no seasoning, bacon was good. Average value. Not sure I would come here again. To many better choices.

Wait was not too bad! The food was well worth the price! I loved my breakfast BLT! The home fries were NOT good and would not recommend them! My husband had the French toast special and he loved it! I will definitely go back!!!

Slow service. Sandwich, chips, pickle were OK, nothing to brag about. I came in for a quick lunch on my break and it took 40 minutes to get out of there. The place is busy so I must be missing something.

Must love a non-chain local joint that offers the usual American brunch/lunch fare, but in a delicious way! The atmosphere is laid back and casual. A jeans and tee-shirt kind of place. Great for families. You might observe regulars coming in and out for their usual orders. Service is fast despite a good crowd, and always a friendly experience. I love their sandwiches! Delicious, good quality Boars Head meat and bread to go with it. I’ve had several, including the cracked pepper turkey and the corned beef. Portion sizes are healthy/filling, and you might expect to take some of your meal to go. A solid menu option is the half sandwich special, which comes with soup and potato salad(yummy). Boxed lunches are great a option too. Really can’t go wrong at Boychiks!

Boychiks is a great spot for quick service breakfast and lunch. I’ve been on multiple occasions and all at varying times. The place can get crowded during lunch on weekdays because it’s right in Innsbrook so many people are on their lunch break, but like I said«quick service» so they are really aiming to get you in and out to free up the tables for more customers. Sunday breakfast also tends to draw a nice crowd. I would describe the food as a step above diner food and I mean this as a compliment. Since the menu includes pretty standard sandwiches and breakfast foods, there isn’t a whole lot to be special about it. But when you add the small family owned friendliness, you can count on a nice meal with a little extra in the customer service department.

This is a good lunch spot, they are normally really quick getting your order ready. It’s not a fancy place, more like quick and pretty tasty sandwiches that you could and probable should have made at home. Prices seem to go up more than I would like but I will probably still frequent Boychik’s if not just for the convenience and the nice people that work there.

Great food, tastes and feels like I am back home in NY. Service is fast, and they always get my order correct. Service is spotty some of the staff are really nice while some are really gruff and unfriendly. Our favorite is Michelle! Highly recommend

One of our favorite casual brunch places. The layout allows them to pack an unexpectedly huge number of tables and booths in the place. Even so, there is frequently a short wait for a table or booth during peak times, and the entire party has to be present to get a table. Other guests are always close by but not so close as to be part of your conversations. Lots of families with high chairs, couples sharing a sandwich, etc. Suits and dresses, sweats and sneakers all fit in well. There is an outdoor /overflow area on the back patio for pleasant days, so request it if the weather is nice. Sunday is their regular, expansive menu — numerous egg, pancake, waffle, French toast(on challah bread!) variations; deli sandwiches, burgers, kosher dogs, etc. Service is friendly across the board — they seem genuinely NICE even when slammed — and the food comes quickly, allowing the tables to turn over at a rapid rate without ever seeming rushed. Tweaks on orders are accommodated with a smile(ask for potato salad instead of chips or fries if you like) and beverages never run dry. More unusual items are found on the menu, including shrimp salad, latkes, chopped liver, etc. let you know that you are not in one of the cookie cuter lunch spots in the area. The front of the house has a working deli counter and a selection of midrange candy bars that are not found in every grocery(Ritter sport, halvah, necco, etc.) are available if you want a parting shot of sugar. A nice neighborhood lunch spot that has never failed to please.

I recently visited Boychiks Deli for lunch with a friend… the service was incredible! I always worry about restaurants at lunch time and being able to get my order in a little less than 10 minutes was awesome! I had the turkey sandwich with a side of the chicken noodle soup and it was awesome. The soup had big chunks of chicken in it! I had the turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and a little bit of mayo and it was the perfect lunch, great price, and fast service. The place was very busy and obviously does a lot of business at lunch time. As Jess S. said it was packed at lunch so getting there early is a great idea! I will definitely back… I want to try their breakfast menu. I have heard good things about that!

The food was good, and I like the variety of unique items on the menu. The service was great. What I didn’t like was that the décor, and the grapefruit juice I had came in a plastic bottle and wasn’t the 100% fresh squeeze that I prefer in the morning. For being my first time I think I would come back to check this place out again.

This is a particular favorite of my family’s! Good food with especially and notably great customer service. You really can’t go wrong here, the service is always friendly, and the coffee is always hot. Worth noting that the place is packed at lunch time – so get there early!

Ordered the«Sailor» sandwich(knockwurst, pastrami, swiss on rye) and it was okay. Just with the combination of ingredients, the sandwich is pretty salty and it’s not really my thing to cross a certain threshold of saltiness, but there wasn’t anything wrong with it besides my personal preference against it. Since this is the second place I’ve seen the«hot dog** in a meat sandwich» theme in a restaurant here, I would maybe guess that this is one of those cool local goodies that you can only get at a certain place(cuz we dont have this in Cali~), but I could be wrong. I’m probably wrong. **- If you’re not from here and ordered this like me, you likely assumed that knockwurst=bratwurst, and were confused when you found a hot dog-like item instead. After some light googling, I wanted to share some notes on the subtle differences between the three: Knockwurst: Similar in appearance as a hot dog, but with about 30% less fat and higher quality, fine ground beef/pork. Is pink due to light smoking. Bratwurst: Less ground veal, beef, and/or pork, is white when cooked. Hot Dog: «No one knows…». Sidenote: The potato salad is awesome.

A few years ago I learned some interesting trivia – after Virginia, the state that supplies the most students to the University of Richmond is … New Jersey. As a born and bred Jersey girl, the prevalence of citizens from my native land in the RVA pleases me for three reasons: 1. I can get a decent sub(bless you, Wawa expansion) 2. I can buy pork roll at Martin’s 3. I have access to Boychik’s Deli To me, Boychik’s is a nice mix of Northeast deli and diner. No, you won’t find ridiculously high-piled sandwiches or a four-page menu as you will in the Garden State, but sometimes a Jersey girl just has to get a breakfast of salami and eggs with French fries – any good Jersey diner will offer fries with breakfast – and a good cup of coffee. Deli purists can get pastrami, corned beef, novi, lox and whitefish with their eggs as well. The sandwiches are fat and tasty and you can wash them down with a Dr. Brown’s cream soda as God intended. Boychik’s is pretty insane on the weekends but I’ve never had to wait more than ten minutes to be seated. The servers are friendly and efficient. I don’t get why so many people whine about the ads on the wall – you’re there to eat, not to admire the décor. Now that one of my sisters-in-law lives in the West End I find myself scouring for independent places, and Boychik’s was a nice discovery. Forgo the highly overrated Silver Diner and hit your Boychik up!

I have to say that I’m not a big fan of Innsbrook in general. Boychik’s fits in perfectly with the mindset and culture of Innsbrook — they provide good food and service in a vapid and sterile atmosphere. Boychik’s is an excellent deli — not a New York deli, but a good local deli. The food is well-prepared and generally served with a smile. I like the Reuben and any sandwich with pastrami or corned beef. The fries are good too. I don’t like the ubiquitous billboards and advertising found on the walls and place mats. I like to escape from the incessant call of business when I eat, but Boychik’s feels like the Innsbrook cafeteria full of folks saying business words to each other, loudly. It tends to overshadow the good food and service. It’s suffocating. A decent place — perhaps better at the weekend.

I was introduced to Boychick’s Deli about 2 years ago, and I can’t stop going back. Everytime I go in there is someone there welcoming you with a smile. What’s better than going to a resturaunt that is packed, extremley busy, but you still get greeted with a smile from each person, every single time. I typically go for brunch on a Saturday or Sunday morning, but lately I have been going for the lunch special at least once a week. Lunch special for them is typically one of their grilled sandwiches on rye bread with fries and a pickle. The sandwich is nothing but delicous. Comes out very quick and hot each time. The service from the wait staff is wonderful. They always make me feel at home. They all make sure that you are taken care of when you are there. Never have I sat at a table for more than 2 minutes before I have someone come over and ask what would I like to drink. This place is just always great. By far one of my favorite places to eat here in the RVA.

Let’s be honest. There are few breakfast spots in the west end. And for someone like myself that needs a go to spot for morning meetings you want something that gives you enough privacy for a good conversation in addition to evaluating the food. And to top it off, in RVA we know you always go local when you can. For me, Boychiks checks a lot of the boxes. You’ll see everyone from businessmen to families to senators in this local dive. The place has been around forever so it has become part of the community. They have both tables and booths so a conversation can easily be had, even though the place is busy at every meal of every day. The food is very typical diner food offering little in regard to healthy options and the tables are littered with advertising mats. But that’s what you’ll come to love. Greasy food, awesome coffee and everything else youd want and expect.
