The hot dogs are perfect!!! All-The-Way(mustard, very small diced onions, and subtly spiced chili) is the way to go and will not overpower the flavor of the hot dog. Just wish there was a Joey’s in Fredericksburg.

OK. So I love Joey and Joey. And they make good hotdogs. Particularly the hot sausages. YUM!

Meeeh… good but not great. Had heard great things about joeys and always wanted to try it. Not sure I would come back. Loved the old timey feel and servers behind the counter were very friendly but these dogs could use some bite. The«snap» factor is there for traditional dog lovers, but honestly they are so small that you need two or three just to make a meal. And almost three bucks a pop, that’s not an inexpensive meal! The menu only has three items. No other hot options besides the dogs. so no hand cut fries, no onion rings, just chips, popcorn which is kind of random, and potato salad. Like the fact that the onion doesn’t overwhelm, it’s small enough that it adds flavor without taking over. Chili was decent enough BUT the dog itself was NOTHING to write home about. I’d much rather go up broad street a few blocks and get a ¼ pound kosher all beef dog at Costco for a buck 99. In fact since I’m still starving, I probably will. Do not get what all the hype is about…

Stopped in with my fiancé last week. I got a hot dog«all the way» and it was excellent. The chili had a little kick to it, which was a nice surprise. My fiancé got a veggie dog and said it was good, though he was jealous of my chili! We’ll be back.

Drove down from Massachusetts with my wife and son for vacation and to visit family, figured we would stop in for some dogs. Guys behind the counter seemed disinterested in our presence. The young man who took my order said«I suppose you’re a Patriots fan.» I said yes, and he said«I don’t know why I’m even serving you.» I was put off by this but I shrugged it off and smiled. But it was very uncomfortable as the guy never cracked a smile or even made eye contact. Whatever… The chili sauce tasted strange, had to scrape it off and eat the dogs plain. Maybe it was just a bad day?

5 stars may seem a bit… ambitious for a hot dog joint, but hear me out: Joey’s is the kind of throwback establishment our grandparents talked about — a simple, family owned and operated local staple, serving simple food from fresh, good quality ingredients. The layout has that 50s diner charm without being a cheesy imitation, it’s completely authentic top to bottom. Is a Joey’s hot dog haute cuisine, blazing the culinary trail? No. It’s a natural«snap» case(also available is a veggie dog, turkey dog, NY hot sausage, and all beef, which I had), grilled juuuuuuust long enough to get that perfect amount of char without sacrificing texture or juciness. They have an excellent selection of «normal» and real cane sugar glass bottle sodas as well as some side dishes that just scream«Classic Americana.» For $ 2.75-$ 3 you get a dog loaded with whatever toppings you want(the typical to-do is chili), even ketchup though it might get you a funny look(hot dog aficionados and fellow Chicago transplants know what’s up). A beef dog with onions and kraut, a macadamia nut cookie, and a cane sugar bottle soda ran me $ 6. Service is great and chances are the owner himself(son of the original owner) will personally make your meal. This place is definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through or a place in your regular lunch lineup if you’re a local.

Joey’s is definitely a great place to fulfill that hot dog craving. He cooks on a grill right in front of you and he is such a nice guy. The place is clean and welcoming. You can get whatever kind of hot dog you want however you want it. They also have extras like cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni salad. They even have cheer wine to wash it down. They have a truck that pops up at events, that was the first time I had a joey’s hotdog and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Small shop, all about the hot dogs, as it should be. Sadly, they don’t have French fries. Their potato salad is okay for an alternative. And they offer bottled Nehi sodas. Classic.

I decided it was a good day to try a fun new spot(to me) place like Joey’s Hot Dogs. The place was crowded at Noon on a Saturday, telling me I was not alone with my desire to eat here. Service was lightning fast and before I could even think about it I was holding a plate with two dogs w/mustard heading for the first open seat I could find. My personal taste is that I hate using styrofoam cups for drinking, but i let that go when I saw they had Cheerwine on the self serve fountain Fun vibe and nice Jazz pumping on the sound system! The dogs rocked! I’m coming back Joey!!!

Joey’s is refreshingly unpretentious with their delicious classic dogs and friendly staff. Great for a quick bite, but be warned – this place gets packed at lunch time during the work week! And it’s no wonder, those chili-cheese dogs are stellar! This place has a dedicated crowd of regulars who are in the know when it comes to this place, but I’ve found that for the most part, this place has been a well-kept secret. So i’m sharing the secret – go here, grab a dog or two, and relish the experience.(Whomp, whomp!)

If your looking for a good quick lunch Joeys hotdog is your place. Im a simple kind of gal, so. I kept my hotdogs simple… Just mustard on a bun… and it hit the spot. The store is small but cozy. There was a steady pace of customers in and out. No one hung out, they came, they ate and left. You can see the owner, Joey at the grill smiling and friendly. I wasn’t in the mood for chips as a side and was pleasantly surprised to find they had some other options as sides. There was pasta salad and potato salad. I chose the pasta salad, and it was delicious. I will be back Joey.

Do one thing and do it well. If we’re going to do it, let’s be excellent. Great hotdogs at a great price in a nice setting. The regular dogs have the required snap. The chili is homemade with the slightest heat. The sauerkraut is mild with the slight back-of-the-tongue tang that goes with the chili. If you only go once, get a New York sausage with chili mustard and sour kraut. They are a bit spicy so get one with a regular dog. Don’t miss the potato salad, which is amazing but hard to find on the menu. The pasta salad is really good too. The owner is a great guy. Sit at the counter and listen to him tell stories. Great lunch place.

I have 49 Unilocal check-ins??? Holy crap! The crazy thing is that I didn’t even check-in every visit… could it be 75? 80? I know that someone else in Unilocal-land is close because we’re in a battle for the Duke crown. I think I have a problem, but this is a problem I can live with. The more I think about it, those are 49 proud check-ins, damnit! Do you ever have those days at work where everything is urgent, everything is chaotic and everyone is looking to you for solutions? I do, and my sanctuary is Joey’s Hot Dogs. Within 5 minutes after arriving, I have my hot dogs and soda and am sitting down, usually with a co-worker. I feel like I’ve left the stress far behind. We moved our office last year so visiting Joey’s is now a 15 minute drive, but it’s always worth it.

Instant, delicious chili cheese hot dogs. Run by two friendly gentlemen. Try the Becky’s lemonade! It’s located right outside of Innsbrook, so it’s a great option for a quick lunch break if you work nearby.

We were driving around after looking at furniture all morning and were starving. We saw this place and came in. We were greeted quickly and not rushed to order. While looking at the menu all the other patrons were getting hot dogs with everything on it but sauerkraut. Now I think it is a travesty not to get sauerkraut as that is one of my favorite things in the world. So we decided to also get all beef hot dogs with everything on it PLUS sauerkraut, mine excluding cheese for allergy reasons, to go. Once we got home and ate the hot dogs we realized we ate them in like two bites. Yes, we were that hungry and the hot dogs were that good. The chili was perfect, I like my chili not to have huge chunks of meat in it and the chili was made just the way I like it! This place also has some cool Unilocal deal that we didn’t see until after we left but when we come back we will do a deal.

Let me tell you about my crazy first dining experience at Joey’s. I went in with the goal of just using my $ 5 gift certificate. When I got there, I preceeded to check-in on my phone app. Upon doing so, I noticed that there was a «Yelp deal» of two hot dogs and a drink for just $ 5. There was also a check-in offer of a free half-gallon of iced tea. Joey, being the awesome man that he is, let me use all three. But just so I didn’t walk out having gotten two hot dogs, a drink, and a half-gallon of tea paying nothing out of pocket, I ordered a side of potato salad. My total bill for lunch that day was only a little over $ 1. Truly though, the hot dogs are great, the restaurant is very inviting with a few counter seats(like a diner), and the service can’t be beat. When I told my preceptor after lunch where I had eaten, he said Joey’s used to be out of a gas station right next to his group’s practice in the same parking lot. He said he and his fellow coworkers often walked over for some hot dogs back in the early days of Joey’s. =) What a small world!

It’s not often that I get in the mood to eat cylindrical shaped meat, but when that mood comes around, there’s no stopping it. I could have went to a 7 – 11 or somewhere nearby, but decided to give Joey’s a try. –Food: Alright, so the hotdogs are delicious. I got two hotdogs«All The Way», which is Joey’s signature combination of mustard, onions, and a special chili. The hotdogs have a lovely snap to the casing, which is something I’m not all that used to. I’m no wiener expert so I don’t know if that means anything, but the overall hotdog itself had a much better taste than most hotdogs I’ve tried. The chili is very pleasant, isn’t overly meaty, and has a nice complementary taste to the dogs. As someone else mentioned in a review, they aren’t greasy or heavy either, and I didn’t walk out feeling gross. Truthfully, the hotdogs are a touch on the small side. I wasn’t expecting a gigantic 1⁄3 pounder or anything, but they’re not overly long(not longer than a standard hotdog bun) and not overly wide in diameter(less than, say, a Food Lion standard hotdog). I don’t feel that they’re overpriced necessarily, given that they are delicious, but you need to eat 2 – 3 to feel full. Another thing to mention, the menu is extremely small. Again, not a bad thing. They have about 6 toppings to choose from including mustard, ketchup, onions, sauerkraut, cheese, and chili. They also have a few different varieties of dogs to choose from including all beef, turkey, and hot sausage. For sides you can get chips, potato salad, and macaroni salad. They do have a wide beverage selection. And that’s about it. It’s a hotdog shop, so that’s fine. While I would have liked french fries, they probably don’t have need for a deep fryer given their menu, so I can understand the lack of them. –Cost: The above mentioned All The Way dogs are $ 2.25 each. A cup of water and two dogs came to under $ 5. I left fairly filled. I probably could have eaten a third one, but didn’t want to try in the case I couldn’t finish(I don’t like to waste food). I’ve had larger hotdogs for less than $ 2.25 and less tasty dogs for more than $ 3, so I feel that the price is right here. –Service: I’m almost tempted to give Joey’s a 5 star rating on service alone. Joey and the other staff member there were completely amazing. You can tell that Joey takes pride in the business and I’d far choose this kind of dedication over any chain restaurant. There’s a difference between someone coming to work to get a paycheck and someone working because they enjoy it, and the latter seems true here. –Atmosphere: The place has an old school vibe to it, and I can appreciate that. The interior isn’t huge but has adequate seating for a couple dozen people probably. –Overall: I’ll settle with a 4.5. The hotdogs are delicious and the staff is wonderful. I don’t really have a good reason for not giving it a 5 other than falling short of being«wowed». I was almost there though, and the hotdogs are definitely good enough that I’ll be returning.

I had Joey’s Hot Dogs for the first time at Unilocal Burstday Party. The owner was really nice and gave out coupons. I stopped by Joey’s Hot Dogs for a quick bite to eat after shopping in Short Pump one day. The restaurant was laid back(late evening).I ordered two hotdogs«all the way» with chips(chili, cheese, kraut, mustard, and ketchup). The hotdogs had a good snap .I thought the toppings added good flavor to the hotdogs. I decided to get a root beer float to drink which was good. Joey’s Hot Dogs is located in a strip mall in Innsbrook. The restaurant has an old school feel with some cool décor. Service was excellent. I give Joey’s Hot Dogs a 3.5 rating rounded up to a 4 because of the customer service. Joey’s Hot Dogs is a good choice for a quality hotdog.
