good service. but the portions are tiny. i got the special stir fry. there were three small shrimp and it tasted bad. my wife got blackened talapia and it too was small in size and not very twsty. i think this is a place to drink.

Great new owner (Henry is awesome)!! Bartenders are great for the local corner bar and it’s a nice place to listen to a local band and have cocktails. Food is just ok but it’s a nice and clean atmosphere with great service!

Great lunch. Oysters were perfect. Western chicken sandwich was awesome, tender chicken, fresh bacon & sauce was unique. Love the lobster bisque, it’s one of my favorites. Place was clean & friendly. Our waiter was fabulous.

Great little place. Service was fast and very friendly. We got the hot crab dip and two burgers, all of it amazing. the crab dip was delicious and burgers cooked perfectly. would definitely come back if I’m ever in the area again.

Was so bad!! Had my birthday dinner there last night was very dissatisfied. Cocunut shrimp had no coconut #2 got the special Taco salad and it was awful it had chili in it not taco at all! Tab was 41.00 for 2 people with no alcohol. Ruin birthday

This place used to be alot better, the drinks are good but the food was mediocre. the menu is now lacking in freshness. typical bar foods, they took their tuna off the menu, which was a favorite to my friends and I. The bands are pretty good, but this place needs a re –vamping!

Food is good once you get it. Service is VERY slow and they cater to a senior crowd. I keep going back thinking the last visit was just a fluke. No more.

Perfect place for he day after Thanksgiving and we don’t feel like eating let alone cooking!
As others have written, JJ’s is a local place. Nothing overly fancy but comfortable and friendly.
We all had sandwiches or burgers, although the menu was diverse and there were daily specials. I had the Hot Stuff burger with jalepenos, jack cheese and spicy mayo. It was cooked as ordered and although they did not leave off the mayo as I requested — it was a good miss. The little bit of spicy mayo was great.
I added a side salad with balsamic dressing — really fresh and crunchy.
Service was fast, attentive and very friendly.
If you are looking for a local joint with good, friendly service and good food — this may be for you.

Food is average and seems uninspired. But like another revier said, it’s good for a quick bite — like maybe a sandwich. They frequently have live music and people seem to like their bar. But if you’re looking for a great food/dining experience, you can do better.

We decided to give this place another try after not going for a couple of years and I’m sure it will be another couple years before we consider going back. My medium burger would have considered overcooked, even for a well-done burger.
I feel like this place might be OK for drinks and bar/snackfood, but if you are after a meal – walk down to nuevo mexico or tokyo sushi.

What a fun place to grab a quick bite and/or a quick drink. The staff is friendly & attentive. The live music is great for dancing or just listening. What it lacks in «fancy» ambiance it makes up in being a very comfortable place to dine and enjoy! Patty, Glen Allen, Va
