My fiancé and I went to the Bernerhoff Inn last winter over the weekend of Valentine’s Day. We had just gotten engaged the night before we arrived and Steve helped my fiancé to pull all the stops so I was surprised with champagne and strawberries and other little decorations when we went up to our room. Upon meeting him, you instantly feel like you know Steve! He’s a very welcoming Innkeeper and makes you feel right at home. The inn is cozy and relaxing and when you walk into your room initially there is quiet music playing and a fire going. We had massages at the spa and they were super relaxing and felt great! We had breakfast on site both mornings and it was so great from the self-serve coffee to the snowy view out the window — it was perfect! At night we hung out with other guests as well as Steve and had drinks by the fire and played various games such as Cards Against Humanity and just laughed all night :) We loved it so much we’re going back next month. Totally recommend it for a weekend getaway, we didn’t want to leave!

I can’t say enough good things about the Bernerhof Inn! This was my first time staying at a B & B and wasn’t sure what to expect. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the Innkeepers Katey and Steve, who were awesome. Katey gave us a tour of the place and showed us to our room. My fella and I reserved a room which has a private entrance and porch which was a great option for us as we tend to be night owls and out late. The room was perfect… huge tub, comfy bed, it was fantastic. They have a small, cozy pub right onsite which was perfect. Right at the pub is a small common area with a fireplace, tv and board games. The entire place is cozy and warm, but spacious. The breakfast area was nice and sunny and bright and the cooked to order breakfast was delicious. The work that goes into the details is amazing. You can tell how hard Steve and Katey work and how much they love what they do. Steve was never far if we needed anything and they are both so friendly and were around during the evening chatting with the guests and making everyone feel very at home. The prices for the rooms were incredibly reasonable with everything that you get for it and the experience. The Inn is in a great location. A nice ride from Mt Washington, close to plenty of pubs, restaurants and things to do. Honestly the inn is a destination in itself with their cooking classes, murder mystery weekends, and other events. or even just a weekend away relaxing. I can’t wait to go back!

Had a great romantic summer stay at this inn nestled in the White Mountains. The drive through the national forest on the way in is breathtaking and prepares you for a relaxing weekend away. We were upgraded to a nicer room upon arrival with a jacuzzi tub and electric fireplace. Even though it was 80 out the night was cooler and we turned on the fireplace just for the novelty. They offer a range of services from cooking classes to massages; none of which I took advantage of. The rustic charm of this B&B is of course the second B(breakfast)! Before heading out to explore the outdoors we fueled up on a great home cooked meal. The special was Texas french toast with ricotta cream. The view of the gardens from the shuttered windows gave me more than I have ever gotten from a chain hotel for less than the cost.

We’re delighted to join the crowd of happy Unilocalers who’ve stayed here. Our visit could scarcely have gone better, thanks to the Innkeeper’s hospitality and a very welcoming atmosphere. The Bernerhof is a classy place, and its reputation among the finest inns in the White Mountains is well deserved. And it boasts some very special attractions, too. Foremost among them from our point of view was«A Taste of the Mountains,» a cooking class that is offered intermittently during the year. It’s a hands-on class led by experienced chefs that winds up with the participants(and their non-cooking spouses) enjoying the delicious just-prepared food. Ours featured seafood including mussels, lobster bisque, crab cakes, cod and … well, you get the idea. Just yummy! The Inn offers a dinner on many other nights when there’s no class, and they are popular with folks staying in the area. Our room(the Fryeburg Suite) was very roomy and had a wonderful hot tub. The bed was comfy, and we couldn’t have asked for more. Well, you should know our room was next to the kitchen, and during the class a bit of noise leaked through. It was never a bother, and if it had been the innkeeper, Steve, provides a neat set of earplugs. There’s a warm, friendly bar and bartender, lots of places to sit and read or enjoy a libation, and the Bernerhof dog, Holly, is eager to escort guests on a nature trail around the inn. And one more thing — the breakfasts are quite appealing, freshly prepared hot and cold dishes with coffee available any time. Highly recommended.

Our first trip to New England and had to do the White Mountains of NH! The Inn is convenient right off the highway so it’s easy to find. Lots of great local places to eat. Steve the host is wonderful, there are a lot of thoughtful amenities from rubber duckies to beer and wine that is available for a relaxing evening. There is a spa on site which unfortunately we didn’t get to experience. It’s an old inn but they have done lots of upgrades and the breakfast is to die for. With cooking classes on site it’s obvious that it’s something they love to do. Would recommend! Thanks for everything.
