I am sad if this location has shut it’s doors. It was always delicious. The Glendale chapter was special to me. I must not live in the past though. There will be another best fish taco in my future.

WHATTHE !!! REALLY !!! OHCOMEON !!! Well this was suppose to be my go to place after or before KP visits, oh well, it happens. Does not surprise me though, that little plaza looks forgotten, the time i visited I was surprised to find parking on a saturday evening. Anyhow, The tacos I had here were pretty good, i got two free tacos since they gave me the wrong order, a plus in my book, free tacos, well YES! Staff was attentive and friendly, service was OK, but then again I was one of three people in there, sat at the counter and sorta chatted with the staff for a bit, young people tend to be funny to me, no care in the world. They did have a few options on salsa’s from mild to hot & spicy, crema and guacamole was OK too. Sad that they closed, but I will be visiting their other place off Hillhurst soon.

This is not Ensenada so they can claim anything their heart desires. The tortillas they use are not good. The options they have for me to dress my taco are cool looking but don’t provide a tasty fish taco. I’ll just keep looking for a positive fish taco experience around the LA area. Until then I’ll hold out for when I’m in La Jolla to eat at Bahia Don Bravo.

You have to love BFTIE’s simplicity. Fish tacos. Shrimp tacos. Drinks. When you’re longing for the days you spent spring break in Ensenada, Mazatlan, Cabo or Cancun — waking up at 1pm hungover as all hell and heading down to the beach for some fresh tacos. Now the ambience probably isn’t the same, but the food is — to me. I ordered two fish, two shrimp and a drink. I preferred the shrimp, but then again, who doesnt. And the salsa bar gave a good selection. I’m not sure I’d call it the greatest fish tacos I’ve ever eaten — in Mexico or stateside, but its close, its quick, its cheap and its good. sidenote: I’ve seen some reviews mention its cash only. They had Visa/MC stickers on the register so that might be a new development

Perfect place for a starved piscivore: Fish tacos! You’ll want three or more. No whistles, no bells – If you crave something else Don’t bother to walk in the door.

It’s difficult to accept this place as authentic Mexican when the guy(manager, owner, cashier?) complains about the Spanish speaking employees. I’m not easily offended but this guy had me fuming! It doesn’t really matter how the food tasted(I already forgot) I wouldn’t visit this place for anything.

It’s a simple place. Judge it on that premise, people! I like that it’s simple. I like that it’s cheap. I like that it’s just off the freeway and fast. I like the variety of salsa(radish & pineapple my favs). Warning: hot means mega-spicy here, so salsa-with-caution.

A pescetarian’s dream come true. With only three items to choose from(all pescetarian friendly), there isn’t much to mess up. Tip #1 — The fish tacos are WAY better than the shrimp ones. The shrimp were a bit mushy in their breading and were just«meh»(if not a bit gross), so their fish tacos are your best bet, in my opinion. Tip #2 — The white cream sauce is awesome. So is the relish. Don’t let its«stink» fool you… it’s amazing! Tip #3 — If you only want to drink water, make sure you ask for it in a cup. Otherwise, you pay for water bottle. Tip #4 — Bring cash. The place itself is hidden on Kenilworth & Glenoaks(across from the Christiskirche). If you miss turning in to their parking lot, just turn right on Pacific, turn right on the first street after the HK Market, and turn right on Kenilworth where you can then turn left into their parking lot. Outside seating is great.

I sincerely hope this place succeeds at this location.(I say this ONLY because the little plaza it’s nestled in has been bad luck for businesses in the past… not to be negative!) Simple, straightforward menu. I got one of each: fish and shrimp, accompanied by some tamarind juice to drink. My first fish taco ever. Both were awesome, but I totally loved the shrimp. Coming back for more for sure… I made the mistake of letting them sit for a minute after putting the cabbage, hot guac, salsa, and magica crema, and the tortillas fell apart. Now I know better for next time. Super friendly service and totally reasonable prices. I live way too close for my own good and totally plan to make Taco Tuesdays/Thursday runs to this joint.

Same food as the Hillhurst location, but 1 star less for cash only and tax added. This location was empty! I love the fish tacos and the fact that you can add as many toppings as you want. Crème sauce, cabbage, hot guacamole & hot mango-less salsa is how I make mine. 3 things on the menu: $ 1.50 fish taco $ 2.00 shrimp taco $ 1.00 drinks If you live nearby or can find this location(close to Americana at Brand) try it!

I’m so happy this place has opened near me. It has already become a once-a-week lunch spot, and I could even eat there more often. It’s a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. I like both the shrimp and the fish tacos, and the salsa bar is great. Service is fast and friendly and they seem to have adequate space to sit and eat. The only thing that keeps me from giving them 4 stars is that the food is overly salty, for no reason I can tell.

Fresh, tasty and cheap! Great local place to grab a bite to eat, a good alternative to other«fast» food. I like it that you get to put the condiments on the taco yourself, usually places put too much salsa on tacos for my preference so this is ideal for me. They should add some cut limes to their salsa bar though! If you are planning on eating alot of tacos, I recommend only ordering 2 at a time so that you can get them fresh out of the fryer(they cook them to order).

When I lived in Los Feliz he opened one right down the street from my old apartment… I WASGOINGTHERETWICE A DAY3TIMES A WEEK… It was so good, I had one of my first foodie events for my food blog( ) there. A year later I move to Glendale and BAM! He opens one directly across the street from my new place! I love it, the service, the tacos and the atmosphere! Because I am allergic to shellfish they even offer to fry the fish in a separate vat for me! Lightly fried fish with Fresh Salsas and Hot Guac is simple enough for me… and if you want… BRING A 6PACKOFBEERANDSAVEONEFORTHEOWNER… I LOVETHISPLACE!!! NILE

I used to make the 15 minute drive to Los Feliz for these Fish Tacos and now it’s literally a one minute walk for me! Glendale needs more hip, Unilocal-ish type restaurants like these and I’m happy it’s here. Although, I’m a bit worried of it’s convenience, because I don’t want to lose control and go on a fish taco binge :/ The fish tacos are great and cheap! Their menu consists of… — Fish Tacos — Shrimp Tacos — Soda …that’s it! I would stay away from the hot salsas, it could get a bit overwhelming(and I like spicy foods!). CASHONLY!!!

I will keep this short and sweet. I happen to be in the area so I stopped by. You really can’t beat the simple menu and cheap prices so I can’t judge too harshly but the salsa bar was unkept and the sour cream’s temperature was questionable. If you wanna check out what the big hubaloo is all about, stop by. It won’t hurt!

Best fish tacos in MYBELLY!!! Found out about this place on the Hidden Los Angeles website. Since I love fish tacos AND nice people, I decided to try them out! I’ve since been back to this location twice, and have been to the other location once. Menu is simple: Fish, Shrimp, Drink. Fish taco is $ 1.50, Shrimp taco is $ 2, Drink is $ 1. For drinks they have a cooler with some sodas and waters, as well as some jugs of homemade horchata, tamarind, and jamaica. The tamarind isn’t super sweet, neither is the horchata, which i like. In fact, the horchata is reminiscent of cashew juice, if you’ve ever tried it.(i’m looking at you, brasilians!!) It has a bit of a bitter bite. It can be off-putting if you are used to super sweet horchata. As for the tacos, the fish and shrimps are dipped in a homemade batter, deep-fried, and then put on to a single grill-toasted corn tortilla. They hand you the taco just like that. You then take it for a walk to their salsa bar. There you will find shredded lettuce that has always looked green and fresh the couple times I’ve been there, an off the charts delicious guacamole, a pump of crème, and about 7 different flavors of salsa, which also range in spiciness. I enjoyed all of them but the mango, but give it a try. I’m noticing a little goes a long way on the salsa front. If you are here to get a bunch of tacos, I’d recommend ordering two at a time. That way, the liquid from your salsa doesn’t bleed through and make your corn tortillas soggy. Boo. No one likes a tortilla falling apart on them. Also, if you order in twos, you’ll get hot, fresh fishies every time. The owner, Joe, is a cool dude. Really nice. We came to Glendale for our first experience, and he gave us a few«free taco» coupons. We’ve since been back twice, and I have a feeling we might come here more often than not. Yes, cash only. Plan accordingly.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for opening in Glendale. These are the Best Fish Taco’s in LA, get your bum to the store and enjoy the crunchy, fresh flaky goodness that is Best Fish Taco in Ensenada. The salsa bar is top notch — you decide mouth-burning super hot, or lovely and mild. Whatever salsa you choose — may I suggest not leaving without trying the hybrid-guacamole! Again, Glendale we are lucky to have this place — go — get a taco or three and imagine Glenoaks Blvd is the warm pacific lapping at your feet. {{{CASHONLY}}}

The menu is as delicious as it is wonderfully simple: Fish — 1.50 Shrimp — 2.00 Drink — 1.00 After ordering a taco, you’ll get it barebones, just meat and soft taco shell(corn); then it’s self service, load em’ up with a variety of salsas(from mild to AMAZING&HOT), ‘magic’ cream, lettuce, and radish. Back to the table, two final options — salt and hot sauce(tapatio I think) Then, the most delicious, fast, & cheap taco is complete and ready to eat. The charm of this place is evident, even though it is still practically under construction! Joseph and the rest of the staff is very nice and friendly, and usually up for good conversation! I never feel alone when I eat at BFTE, even if I go there by myself.
