Hungry Howie’s Pizza

This shop is close to my house which makes it extremely convenient for me. I’ve had both good and bad experiences here, yet I keep coming back for the flavored crust and a large pizza with four toppings is$ 12. Can I ask for more? Yet, last time I came they were unprofessional. After ordering on the phone and coming to pick up, they looked confused when I said I was there to pick up my order. The guy asked for my name again and looked around then went to the computer. They hadn’t even stated on my order and about 30 minutes had passed since I placed it. I ended up waiting 20 minutes until they made my order. He didn’t apologize or attempt to make my order quickly. Let me mention that it wasn’t busy whatsoever, I mean the two workers were standing and talking rather than working.
I’m not sure how I feel considering they had forgot about my order entirely when I went to pick it up. I’m disappointed, this was always my go to pizza shop.

Glad to bump these guys up to a 4 star. Food is great .
Just make sure you guys order for pick up, or you physically go there and order !
Please keep in mind that they only have a few workers so deliveries take a long time. Especially when you’re in charge of taking orders, making them and delivering them .
Just avoid getting it delivered and you’re great.

We ordered a pizza once here and we were slightly late coming to pick up the pizza and and an older gentleman tells us he’s already sold our pizza to someone else. Then once at arrival we asked if we can order another pizza and he says no. So today we try ordering on the phone again and a man on the phone (who refuses to pick up my calls because of caller ID) says we can’t order through phone any longer because we supposedly didn’t pick up last time (which we did) also it’s Valentine’s Day and he refuses to give me his name but he’s working at the moment and hung up on me and said «oh well you can’t order a pizza» this place sucks.

I was so excited to try this place but walked out (without my order) when I saw a worker, possibly the manager because he did not have on the uniform, walk to the back from outside and start making pizzas without washing his hands! This is not okay and I couldn’t even complain because the worker in the front remained on the phone taking orders

My coworkers and I have ordered pizza several times from here to be delivered to our work place. Since we’ve always order way ahead of our lunch hour, the delivery never seemed to be an issue for us. The pizza is just okay, but I’m guessing because it’s never hot… just slightly warm. I wouln’t say it’s the best pizza I’ve had, it’s just okay. I’m wondering it with would taste better if I dined in. So I’ll have to drop by and check it out sometime instead of ordering for delivery. I won’t get into details of what type of pizza I ordered since you can imagine that would be a big list, and it’s not different from what I would order anywhere else…

After a long debate, my fiancé decided to order from Hungry Howie’s, and let me tell you, by the time we got our pizza, we were VERY hungry. We waited an hour and a half. We had to keep contacting eat 24 for updates. When the pizza finally arrived, it was lukewarm and the order was incorrect. Such a shame.

The pizza is excellent. Not the best, but not bad either. The flavored crust are good. I always get the buttered cheese. The ham with veggies is also good. I definitely would come here again.

The thin crust pizza is amazing. The veggie toppings are always so fresh. The delivery was really quick.

2 stars because I just wasted 8 bucks on frozen store bought boneless wings. Instead of tossing the chicken in the sauce, they very lightly drizzled it on top. I could have bought frozen chicken from Ralph’s down the street for much less and gotten the same result. Seriously disgusted and disappointed with this place. Lost its touch and I’m never going back.

Ok this is where i wish there was a zero star option! My younger brother kept talking about this place so i decided to call and place an order for delivery. The guy that picked up the phone, asked for my name and number, then had the nerve to tell me he cannot take my order because im calling with a blocked number and i am not in their system. So he asked me to call back with an unblocked number. Hung up called them back twice! They refused to pick up the phone. Excellent way to run a business. Keep it up you wont have any customers left!

The pizza is always made fast and isn’t too pricey. my friends and I always order from here and have never been dissatisfied. Great for any event. I would suggest take out though, because sometimes delivery takes too long

By far, the best pizza in town. My kids love it! Service is great and their thin and crispy crust is a must!

These guys are a joke. The driver can’t find my place when it’s on the corner of two well known streets. I try to tell the driver where to go but he’s literally not listening. The kid is walking around with the phone by his side. I can hear the phone rubbing up against his fat thigh. I had to call this kid three times and he’s at the apartment next door. He won’t listen to directions and when he finally gets to my place where I’ve been waiting on him outside – he just hands me my pizza. No apology or personality. Then he’s digging around in his pocket for the SQUARE to plug into his phone. He’s pulling crap from his pocket dropping everything on the ground while the entire time his MOM is standing next to him. Are you serious??? You’re a pizza delivery guy and your mom is driving you around?
Now here’s the real kicker, I get upstairs and the pizza is cold by now and I start eating it. It’s not a bad pizza but as I get to the second to last slice we find a hair in it.
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS?

Dropping my review to 2 stars. This location went downhill over the past year or so. They need to hire more workers. They always seem completely frazzled. I live literally around the corner and the pizza takes usually about an hour, whereas Pizza Hut comes in 30 mins.
They rarely remember the flavored crust now which is the whole reason I order from here. Wee went from ordered Howies once a week to maybe never again until things turn around.

Forget this place 1.30 min for delivery cold pizza not good at all
.they don’t have right customer service dancing on the phone with attitude and after all that work or Saiz 25 to 35 minutes to delivery and I get my pizza after one and half hour later

O.M.G. The best Pizza I have ever had.
My work just relocated me to Glendale, California and Hungry Howie’s is right down the street. This is by far the best Pizza I have ever had.
I recommend the DEEP DISH with Garlic Herb crust and any toppings go great with that.

Their bbq chicken deep dish pizza is THE best! Super cheesy with the perfect amount of bbq sauce. It has bacon, chicken, and red onions. The service was quick and friendly. One of my favorite pizza places!

I just went online to check out the menu for this place. Upon coming to the site there is a big special that says you get a free medium pizza if you order online. I was planning on ordering online anyway, so I went ahead and picked the store closest to me and TRIED to look at the menu. They only have two pizzas on their menu and when you click on specials/​deals there are none. To make matters even worse there’s not even an option to select one of the two pizzas that they have available. I spent about five minutes on the website trying to figure it out until I realized that it’s not even fully up. I wasn’t even able to order online.
I decided to call the store and ask about the website in case I was making a mistake. The guy that answered the phone had no idea about the special with a free medium pizza, and then he told me that I should order online if that’s what it says. I told him that I was trying to order online but there was no option to select an order, and then he said maybe it’s because they don’t honor that deal. I asked why it would say that then? And he said he didn’t know. I asked if I could speak to manager and he said there was no manager.
I mean really?! At least make sure your website is fully up and going before you start giving out deals for online ordering– and what’s with the no manager?

I feel so bad because I literally called to place an order for takeout an hour before they opened without knowing and picked up the pizza half an hour afterwards. I was checkin in on Unilocal and was like, what they’re not open yet?!
However they were so kind to us and didn’t even bother to mention that they were not open yet. The guy in the front was really chill and provided us with extra napkins and some pizza sauce that was really cheap for only 50 cents. I got an ad in the mail saying that they had large deep dish pizzas for ten dollars so I grabbed at the deal!
Turns out it was a great deal. I was surprised that the size I got was a large because I expected it would be bigger but I saw that they had an X-​Large size which i thought was reasonable. What I got as a «large» was a GREAT deal for the price though! I’m definitely not complaining here!
My boyfriend and I sat down outside of the place on the tables in front of the parking lot. The good thing about the valley area is that there’s not much wind to bother your outdoor eating unlike the beach area. My boyfriend and I, who I consider to be pretty heavy eaters, finished the whole thing and was satisfied. We also had a cherry pepsi to share and were very full. I was a little bit disappointed at the DEPTH of the pizza. The term «deep dish» might be a bit misleading because the orginal deep dish pizza is supposed to be very very thick, as many of you Unilocalers might already know. This one wasn’t close to resembling a Chicago-​style deep dish pizza. Maybe a little bit, regarding the fact that they did have a thicker style I noticed. I was a little bit disappointed because it didn’t have much of a crust, which I was excited for. My boyfriend took out pizzas from here a few times over the years and was raving about their flavored crusts especially their garlic herb crust, but I got a very little taste of it. The little taste that I got, however, satisfied me but I wish they had a bigger crust for the deep dish pizzas.
Very satisfied, will be back again, and probably soon!

Just got off the phone with Robert. He was extremely nice with great customer service!
I love their garlic crust and the garlic cheesy bread. Only thing that sucks is that there is one in the area but if they deliver to your house you should definitely try it!
