Went for the Fish Fry on 12÷18÷15 at 1pm. This was a 1rst visit… we both ordered the 3 piece cod for $ 12…the fish was over fried and the french fries were cold and hard. The coleslaw was in a small plastic cup. three mouthfuls & a half slice of rye bread I sent mine back… they did redo it… but it just came back with the cod & fries… Too little food/not good/too much $$$

The Brick is in the old Mini’s. And having frequented Mini’s, let me say, there is nothing remaining of Mini’s but the parking lot. Amazed by the transformation. This is a beautiful venue. Two dining areas, plenty of tv’s, few games, dartboards, but nothing over done. You can tell that the owner put a great deal of thought into this. Know how you go to some bar/grills and the waitresses have to come up to the bar to pick up drinks, between the seated customers? Nope, they have a separate spot, away from customers for this. I have to chuckle that they got my favorite bartender from the Silver Spring House! That’s a plus. But Nate who was bar tending last night was very pleasant. We just had a couple beers. You could tell the waitstaff/bartenders/owners knew many customers but not in that way that as a new customer you are annoyed that they are preoccupied with their friends/buddies. Now to the food. The menu was full of options from burgers, sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, and build your own pasta. We both opted for a cup of soup and build your own grilled cheese, cuz that is my favorite and I do judge a place on their grilled cheese(see one of my last reviews!) so you get your choice of 2 cheeses(pepper jack, cheddar, Swiss, & ?)and 2 toppings(tomato, bacon, avocado, & ?) clearly I knew what I wanted immediately since I can’t recall the other selections. Came with choice of side, veggie, shoe string fries, tarot tots. Fries n tots were okay, nothing that jumped off my plate bite served their purpose. You can upgrade for additional cost. The sandwich was great! You could tell it was grilled. Loved it! The soup was delicious! Cup of soup, sandwich, 2 beers, about $ 24 with tip(20%). Well worth it! Service-the owner stopped by and asked how things were, and we could see him in the kitchen helping getting plates out. The cook/chef came thru twice and asked how things were. Nate was very pleasant. And when Tyler came on(yep the bartender from down the street) he also asked how things were. Now this was not In an annoying sort of way at all. We were seated at the bar so it was nice. The Brick was pretty busy but we still received great service and good food. Newly opened but you could see the enthusiasm on the owner’s and the staffs’ faces… I look forward to my next visit. Exactly what Glendale needed! Very fresh! 11÷28÷15 Well I eagerly looked forward to my second visit, and to bring my BF. Well, sadly, I can not say it was worthy of the original five stars. Just average. The waitress was sweet, not overly outgoing and definitely not intrusive. She did get our first drink order mixed up, brought a High Life instead of GD, not a big deal. She accommodated moving us up to the bar when seats opened. Very long wait for our meal. I ordered the grilled cheese again, and though I’d like more cheese, it was good. BF ordered the Billy, medium well. Unfortunately he was unable to eat all of it. Was cooked well done and thought that maybe it was just a really bad cut of meat, said he couldn’t even bite into the center part of the sandwich. Our waitress didn’t check back with us until we were nearly finished for additional drinks. This time she brought me a soda instead of a Miller Lite. She probably should have double checked what I had. Also, not a big deal. As we sat at the bar eating our meal, the bartender spoke to us once. The owner however did check in with us. Not a horrible dining experience, just not worthy of the original 5 stars. Also, I was aware that there were dart boards in the bar area and thought we might be able to shoot a few games. Unfortunately, they now have a table set up in such a way to shoot darts is impossible, that disappointed. I think there will need to be additional tweaking. I do believe a positive is that the owner appears very engaged in running the establishment and less interested in sitting drinking with the patrons. This will go a long way towards the success. 12÷1÷15 The Brick just added a star because the owners followed up and responded to my review. To me, concerned establishment owners seeking more information on how to better their business deserves an additional star and another visit. And no, this is not a case of free dinner. It’s that the owners respect their patrons. I look forward to a return.

I love that this place is trying to hold to the history. Big bar area, so can accommodate bigger groups. Not a big place overall, so a large group could overtake it easily. This was my first visit and I was concerned o was underdressed(wearing torn jeans and sweatshirt and ball cap). I wasn’t underdressed. Very casual place. The menu is light on dinner items, unless your looking for sandwiches. This is fine because they do the sandwich thing well. They have a fish fry too on Fridays. The service was friendly, though our drink order and food order wasn’t correct on a few items. Maybe they should write down the details of the order and not try to memorize yet. The big competition for this place is the bar at the intersection nearby, which has amazing burgers – or so I’m told. The atmosphere at the other place is very outdated and icky, so this place has a chance of stealing customers. I’ll be back to give it another try. For now, I give it 3 stars for being ok.

Wow. Still a young establishment but what a great first impression. The menu seems like it could be rife with trite Sysco pub fare, but the experience was anything but. Front of house staff was patient and engaging with our kids and shepherded them through ordering with ease. Atmosphere is new and clean with plenty of TVs. If they had a few more games for the kids, they would have taken an extra $ 10 out of my wallet. The app pretzel was great! Warm and soft unlike some other places where it seems to come out cold and dry. The Reuben was close to perfect. Hot, good grain and texture. The meat, not swimming in dressing and just the right balance of kraut and cheese. Salads were relatively basic but that’s not what you’re there for. The French onion soup was very well balanced(according to the owner… made in-house). It shows. Great ratio of onion to broth, cheese and bread. You could actually taste the onions, broth and the cheese… not your usual salt bomb in a bowl… actual nuanced flavors. We’ll be back for sure. Hope they can keep up the quality of the food delivered to-table and the clean atmosphere as they settle in. As they evolve, would love to see some adventurous specials and a few signature dishes to balance out the more recognizable fare. A welcome addition to the neighborhood. They could make a killing offering WFB families an entertaining dining experience they’ve been craving for some time.

The Rueben was excellent. Served on a marbled pumpernickel, sauerkraut with a nice kick, tender corned beef, ample cheese for a California cheesehead, classic thousand island, good pickle on the side and crispy onion strings. There’s a lot to love there. A good Rueben has the power to draw me back, and not a lot of things do that. It was a late lunch, a corner booth, and three sisters and me. Everybody went for something different: the Original Timmy, which was a chicken wrap with choice of wrap flavor, Pulled Pork Panini, and Specialty Salad. We had sides of tater Tots, Waffle Fries, Onion Strings, and drinks. The Stella Artois was served in the Chalice with the gold rim. With lots of dark wood paneling and booths, nice open look, good service, and decent menu, this place should do well. We enjoyed it. The place has a bit of a backstory, and an owner on duty, which makes this venture rather unique from the get go. We are in an unfortunate era where so many businesses are operated by folks with no skin in the game and the real owners are large corporate entities located on the 135th floor of a midtown Manhattan business glass box with no heart and certainly no soul and no real product.

We were at the Brick on Friday November 13th. My husband is a vegetarian(a very picky one), I am not, so sometimes it’s hard to find a place where we can both enjoy a meal together. While not a vegetarian place it is vegetarian friendly. The place was packed but for two people the wait was not that long(20 min). The owner is very hands on and came over and chatted with us for a bit. Once seated service was prompt and friendly. The food was great. I had the perch with potato pancakes and my husband had the grilled cheese. We are musicians so the addition of live music on Wednesdays(soon to start) is of interest to us. We can’t wait to check it out.

I live near this place, and was super excited when I saw that something was happening in the old Mini’s building. The place has been remodeled very nicely and is PACKED practically every night, so good for them. The staff and owner are are totally engaged with their customers and the owner really seems to care. He came around to every table and bar patron even though it was busy. I notice he(or someone) is also responding well to complaints on their Facebook page, so A+ for customer service. So why only 3 stars? The food just wasn’t that great. Best thing was the potato pancake with the fish fry, which was homemade and delicious. The cod was average at best, and breaded, not battered. It just wasn’t very flavorful and a little overcooked. It seemed like a frozen product, so maybe next time I’ll try the perch or walleye instead. The portion of food was small for $ 9.50, though I am glad I didn’t pay more for another piece of fish. The burger had a great charcoal grilled flavor, but it was a little overcooked and again, pretty bland. Not much cheese on it, and the bottom bun kind of disintegrated. It was pretty mediocre, as were the frozen thin fries(you can’t get tots on Fridays). We also weren’t aware that there’s an abbreviated menu on Fridays, and were hoping to get cheese curds and tots, which weren’t available. I understand many places do the Friday-only menu, but I didn’t see anything about that on their website of Facebook before going. So maybe just give people a head’s up on your sites. Overall the food didn’t seem worth the price, and to be honest, the rest of the regular menu seems quite boring and standard. They are brand new, so likely things will change, and I hope they get a little more creative with it. Nothing makes me go «wow, I need to try that!» especially for the prices. They are working on a happy hour and specials during Packers games, so that’s promising. I hope you succeed! I guess I was just hoping it was less North Shore and more ‘Stallis. We will be trying you again, hopefully for some drink specials.

While The Brick has transformed tremendously from the old Mini’s, I feel I can’t give it all 5 stars. And purely for my own reasons. The menu is awesome and I had a really hard time deciding on what I would try on my first visit. We started out with the cheese curds and I was extremely impressed. White cheddar my favorite! Our bartender was great. She had just started, but was extremely fun. The only reason I feel I can’t give it 5 stars is because I had ordered a medium burger and it came out well done. It was a little dry considering the avocado, cheese, dressing, and onions that came on it. I will definitely be back!

I tried the fish fry last night — it was by far the best that I’ve had in years! Lightly breaded cod, perch or walleye. Delicious!

Stopped in early on The Brick Pub and Grill’s opening night for a light meal of soup and salad. The homemade tomato basil soup was the best I’ve ever had — better than my own homemade recipe. My husband loved his chicken noodle soup as well. Beautiful place, great atmosphere. Looking forward to going back again to try some of the other menu items! Note to vegetarians like myself: This restaurant is vegetarian friendly(unusual in a pub and grill)! All of their many burger selections can be ordered with a veggie burger substituted for the meat. There are also additional meat free options on the menu.
