This place is great. My son loves the Mac and cheese. I love the brisket. Service fantastic. Try the snake pit sauce.

The brisket was melt in your mouth delicious– tender, flavorful, and just exactly the right consistency. We loved the ribs and TK’s special sauce pulls it all together with just the right taste and texture. My daughter loved the pulled chicken(which I did not try) and we were all quite happy with a great lunch on our return to this part of the country. We liked TK’s last year and we are equally satisfied this year on our return visit.

I’d like to support local business, but I have to say the ribs are just average. I don’t like fall off the bone ribs, I like ribs with a little grip left on the bite. Their snake pit BBQ sauce has a nice bite too it but that was the spiciest version they had. Their side of beans was really good, but unfortunately the corn pudding looked grayish and tasted mushy. I really don’t recommend it at all and yet it’s mentioned a lot. I think I might have had an old batch? I came in on a Saturday afternoon and there was no one else in the restaurant. Hmm…

Me & the wife went here on a whim. The place was clean, and the customer service was good. The price of the food does not match the quality of the food. I had the brisket sandwich, and my wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich. We noticed that no sides comes with these, that all the sides were sold separate. Not a hug deal, until we noticed the prices. Two sandwiches with not drinks were 19 bucks… kinda pricey for fast food. The brisket and pork were very dry and not seasoned at all. Not a good time.

I’m a huge pulled pork fan being from N.C., this is a major disappointment. They advertised a vinegar sauce that was sweet. And the pork was sadly just not good. I do a much better job with my slow cooker at home.

I hadn’t been here in a while and figured I’d give it another try. What a waste of money and taste buds. From the moment I walked in, I knew I would be disappointed. The server/cashier gave me that generic«hello, thank you for coming in» greeting. Proceeded by making sure he pointed out the tip portion of the bill after he swiped my card. How do you tip someone for services before they are rendered? I ordered the pulled pork with a side of Mac and Cheese and their frys. The pulled pork sandwich has been«redone» meaning they just removed a piece of bread to save money. The Mac and Cheese was burnt and those duck fat frys are disgusting. I think they’re under new ownership or management. Either way this place has gone down hill over the last year. Overall the food was gross and the service is crappy. $ 17 for a sandwich, frys and a drink… never again. Good riddance!

This place used to be great… Just ordered it for lunch, and all of us are in agreement. It sucked! The«duck fat» fries are awful. The cole slaw(if u can call it that) awful. The beans are from a can. The meat is real dry, and the BBQ sauce isn’t the same… And the side portions are a JOKE! I would go puke this up, but for what I paid I’ll try my best to keep it down… Idk what happened, but will never be back. Take a ride to T Bobs or Rub’s Backcountry Smokehouse and learn a thing or two!

Not too bad of a dinner. The service was good and nice. The food was average, the meat was dry and seemed quick cooked(not slow cooked). Still okay though, just wanted more for my money.

Walked in today and ordered their Burnt Ends Smokey Joe to go… First impression was that of a cashier/server that did nothing but complain about how they are short staffed today… There was 1 other take out customer there waiting for food with me… Food came out about 5 minutes after ordering. Meat was just short of being horrible… Meat had no flavor at all… Horribly tough, no tenderness at all. Sauce was disgusting — it tasted and looked like it was nothing effect hot sauce and fat… I will never be going back — you shouldn’t go either

This is one of the best BBQ places I have eaten at. Brisket is tender and moist. The service outstanding. I come here every time I come to Glenview.

The smoked brisket was moist and very lean. The chili was excellent. My husband describes the baby back ribs as meaty. More fall off the bone than chew off the bone. Sauce had a good flavor but was watery. Duck fat fries were delicious. The two people who worked here were very friendly and nice.

As someone who is picky about her barbecue sauce, I was extremely impressed with TK’s. The brisket is delicious, as is the pulled chicken. Never crowded, this low-key spot is great for families or groups. Great customer service, hostess gives her opinions if you ask for them!

Came here for dinner with my family. It was quiet, clean and welll kept. That’s about the best I can say. Food was so not worth the price. My brisket platter(sliced-moist) was DRY. It was like it had been sitting all day and then reheated until dried out. Burnt end baked beans were alright… Not great but not terrible either. The sauce that came with the meal was pretty sweet but the Carolina vinegar sauce was better. My kids did seem to like the Mac and cheese. Big disappointment were the duck fat fries. If they were even really duck fat fries, you wouldn’t know. Not only did they seem like frozen fries but they were so drowned in salt/seasoning you couldn’t taste anything else. The menu read well and I thought the place had promise, but I was quite saddened.

Walked in and this place was a ghost town. At 5:30 on a Friday night I thought there’d be a few people inside but no, now I see why. Asked the young lady behind the counter for a little help with recommendations. I was buying food for 4 people and wanted to make sure I ordered enough. They had platters but she said that a platter would only feed 1 – 2 people so I decided to order 21lb baskets, 1 pound of pulled pork and 1 pound of pulled chicken. She then told me they were out of chicken. Huh? I guess that all the customers must have made a run on chicken. Then she recommended instead of order 2 pounds of pulled pork I should order 1 pound of pulled pork and 1 pulled pork platter, that way I could get some cole slaw + 2 sides. So I went with her suggestion and asked for an upgrade of sides to larges. Here’s where the bad news starts. When I got home, the LARGE sides were a joke. The Mac & Cheese was 2 muffin tin size bowls of food that were not even enough for my 2 daughters. The LARGE baked beans would have not even been enough to fill a small container of KFC side dishes. And the cole slaw, well it wasn’t there. The sides were nothing special, what there was of it. The meat was OK but the BBQ was 1 small shot glass size container for all the meat. That lasted for about 2 helpings. What a disappointing meal! I asked the counter girl how long they had been open. She said 2 ½ years. After 2 ½ years, you’d think there would be a few customers inside. Not with this mess.

I tried TK’s last Thursday. It became my favorite place for Barbecue. The chili was amazing, ribs are great and their Brisket is awesome. Unlike some places that drown the meat in sauce, TK’s allows you to taste the meat. A little BBQ sauce was all I needed because of the rub and smoke flavor being so good. It is my choice for Father’s Day! My day, My choice :-)!

Server as the counter was friendly. Even was friendly and offered a sample when I inquired about the burnt ends. They weren’t traditional burnt ends but more made into a chili/sloppy joe hybrid concoction. I ordered the sliced brisket(moist). Well, i’m not sure how they cook it, but it was rather bland and almost tasted like it was boiled. The portion was a about 3 or so slices on a bun. The sauce was really fruity, like maybe peachy? The fries were okay, the duck fat was a selling point but they seemed to be frozen crinkle cut variety. I tried to ask for something other then coleslaw but they wouldn’t trade it out… so I can’t comment on that. Maybe i’ll return since there aren’t many bbq joints out in the burbs by my work, i’d try something pork.

I should preface this review with the fact that I am from Kansas City and a complete BBQ snob. My husband and I went to TK’s last Sunday evening around 7PM. We thought it might be closed because it looked empty but they were open. There was one other couple eating there. TK’s is an order at the counter and they bring it to your seat kind of place, which is fine by me but it definitely makes the restaurant seem not as nice when you do it that way. It feels like more of a fast food restaurant or a lunch joint. Maybe that’s what it is. The food was just okay. I mentioned when ordering how fancy«Duck Fat Fries» seemed but when I got them, they just tasted like normal fries. I couldn’t tell a difference at all. They were out of pulled pork(my favorite) that night so I got the burnt end sandwich, which was kind of mushy. Not at all the texture I would expect from burnt ends. But the thing I was most disappointed in was the sauce. They give you this tiny cup of BBQ sauce with your meal, rather than leaving a bottle on the table, and the sauce was super watery. I think they water it down to make it go farther(ie. save money). It was absolutely tasteless, no spice, just a tiny bit of sweetness. Basically, it tasted like water on my mushy burnt ends. Their cole slaw was awful as well. The prices here just don’t match the food offered. If the setting was nicer, if they served you at the table, if the food was higher quality, I could see the higher prices. But even for Glenview, this is a little bit too much. I’d go back if they served better food.

I had never heard of this place until my husband suggested going there for a late lunch. I read a couple of reviews and thought it sounded pretty good. Walking in I quickly realized it wasn’t a sit down restaurant but more of a fast food type place where you order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. There wasn’t a single diner in the place which struck me as a little odd. When asked what we’d like to order I mentioned that it was our first visit and we needed a minute to look over the menu. I tried to ask her a question about one menu item but she seemed preoccupied with two co-workers and didn’t hear me, even though I asked my question twice. We decided on two different meals with different sides so that we could share and try more things. The meat is served with just a dry rub on it and the bbq sauce on the side. We both noticed quickly that the dry rub was incredibly salty and the bbq sauce was way too sweet for my taste. The brisket was good but the ribs were very fatty. Each meal is served with cole slaw that was way too dry and way too vinegary. Not good at all. Sides were decent — nothing fabulous. Overall the meal was passable but nothing we will return for. Too many other options that far exceed this place.

I first have to say that I have eaten at a lot of BBQ joints around the country like gates in Kansas City to Lou’s in Nashville. So I know my Barbecue. ordered from TKs last weekend and I was very very disappointed. We ordered the brisket sandwich and st louis ribs. I ordered the brisket chopped and was very disappointed it was so chopped to death that I needed a spoon to eat it. There was a plain price of bread packed with it but there was no way of eating it like a sandwich. Plus it was very salty. We also ordered the St. Louis ribs. Those were dried out. Did fall off the bone. But reluctantly. I don’t think I’ll return based on this experience. I don’t see how others didn’t experience what I did.

Wow TK’s totally took me by surprise! If I had known the food was this good I would have come earlier, especially since its located around the corner from me. I would give service, food, and atmosphere all 5 stars. This space used to be an Egg Harbor Café back when I was in high school but TK’s is an awesome change/addition to the small strip mall. The layout of the restaurant is typical bbq style where you order at a counter and then they bring the food to your table. This was mine and my friends’ first time here so we took awhile looking at the menu trying to decide what to order. Since we couldn’t decide what we wanted, the owner was so pleasant he let us sample some food. We tried the burnt ends since he overheard me say I love burnt ends to my friends. He then let me know that they prepare their burnt ends sandwich a little differently from other bbq places. They add some diced pepper and other flavors where it tastes more like a stew than normal burnt ends. The burnt ends sample was yummy but not the exact taste I was in the mood for. I ended up ordering the sliced brisket sandwich and a strawberry cider. One friend ordered the half slab of ribs and the other had the pulled pork sandwich. All of us were extremely happy with our choices. My brisket was juicy, flavorful, and had a great smokiness. The sauce came in a little cup on the side so you could control how much or any sauce you wanted on your sandwich(which is a plus for me!) My strawberry cider was yum-my! It basically tasted like juice but I felt like trying a girly beer. I tried a sip of my friend’s shandy which was very light and refreshing. One cool thing they do here if you get your beer in a cup is that they fill the beer from the bottom up through a hole to decrease the foaming at the top. The top of the hole is magnetized and they seal it with a little magnet. Tip: If you bring in 20 magnets, you get a free sandwich! Nom! I definitely recommend coming here if you’re feeling in the mood for bbq! In my opinion, this is the best bbq place in the north shore area. Bonus: There was a Bill Murray and a Noah Pukerman(Mark Salling from Glee) lookalikes working here!
