Pure Country

We ate here based on good reviews on Unilocal.We were not disappointed. The owners and even cook were so friendly and helpful. We had the chicken fried steak, catfish, chicken strips. Our sides were the mashed potatoes, green beans, corn poppers onion rings and salad. Everyone agreed food was all delicious. Servings were so large we could have easily shared a meal. Prices very reasonable. I highly recommend for good home cooking.

If you aren’t looking closely, you’ll probably miss this place. That would be a mistake so look closely. The food is awesome and the service is great. They are friendly, clean, and so affordable. Try the Debbie Burger, it is to die for! The chicken fried steak is also amazing. The staff is so great, they obviously take pride in their work. The building looks small on the outside, but inside it is much roomier and the décor is so interesting. My kids love it too, and they are picky eaters. Just a tip, come hungry because the portions are generous and make sure to save room for the banana pudding. I would come back just for that!

This is basic diner food with a southern/​country twist. Don’t expect anything fancy or gourmet, but if you want a hearty breakfast or some home cook in’, this is a solid place. The owners are always there and service is top notch. Your coffee cup won’t go dry!

We enjoy going here for breakfast. Just wish they opened earlier during the week. My husband really likes their Chicken Fried Steak! If you are crazy hungry just order an omelet! They are huge! The owners wait tables and are really nice!

This place is AMAZING!!! My boyfriend and I went today and got the chicken fried chicken and the chicken fried steak and they were TO DIE for! Everything about this place was great! Service was great (one of the owners, I’m assuming, even came and said hello to us), food was phenomenal, and it was easy to be seated. We’ll definitely be going back and if y’all know what’s good for you, you’ll give this place a try! You won’t regret it.

Coming from a bit of a food snob, this is a great little place to go for good ol’ country fixins. Expect what should be expected in this class of restaurant… great food, great host, great prices, slow but friendly service and a cozy country feel. The restaurant is small but accommodating. The banana pudding is a perfect match to the classic Texas recipe. Go here, keep this family place in business.

This restaurant is unassuming on the outside and warm and homey on the inside. We arrived about 25 minutes before closing and when I asked if we were too late for dinner, the owner told me, with a smile, that he’d feed us even if we came in at 8 (closing time). That welcome was the start of a great meal, with down home cooking and wonderful service. Pure Country is a restaurant we would heartily recommend and return to, if we ever came back to the area.

We have wanted to try this place for a while. We finally stopped by one Friday evening, and were not disappointed. I had the chicken-​fried chicken, and my boyfriend had the chicken-​fried steak. Both were delicious, possibly the best in Granbury. Great service, fun décor, and of course we enjoyed the classic country music playing. Can’t wait to go back.

After reading the reviews, we decided to come in and give this place a try. I’m so glad we did! Everything is prepared and cooked by hand. The «Noah Plate» comes with animal-​shaped waffles that my toddlers loved, and the bacon is cooked to crispy perfection. However, I would drive back to this restaurant tomorrow just to have more of the banana pudding! Once we finished our meal, the owners sat at the table across from us to visit. You will not find friendlier people anywhere in Granbury. We will be back!

Excellent! We read about a great Chicken Fried Steak they make online and thought we should check it out for ourselves. Boy was everyone right! So good! Crunchy golden brown on the outside and fork tender on the inside.
It’s a local ‘mom & pop’ establishment that we’re more than happy to give our money to. The service was friendly & attentive, it’s very CLEAN, the owners are sweet as pie and all of our food was brought out hot in a timely manner.
Our toddler boys split an ala carte breakfast made up of biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and sausage patties, which the staff put on separate plates for them. It was a GOOD amount of food on each plate.
My husband really enjoyed his chicken fried steak breakfast (CFS, eggs, hashbrowns, toast and he got sausage too).his plate was mopped clean. I’m not a big breakfast eater, so I ordered their Debbie Burger, 1/​3lb topped with grilled onions and jalapeños, which comes with French fries or onion rings. It’s was cooked perfect, the bun was toasted and you actually taste the beef! They even have a 1POUND burger! I can’t even imagine.
All in all, we were thoroughly impressed. From the outside its a small, kitschy looking metal building, you’d miss it if you blinked. However, take the time to stop in, they serve full menu all day and you can tell they put their heart in this place.
