A wonderful take on a corn dog! We love to stop here before taking a walk to the beach.

Pronto Pups are a must when you’re in Grand Haven :) On the weekends, expect a very long wait, but luckily for us on a Monday early afternoon, we were able to snatch a couple up quickly. I ended up getting two for myself, one painted with ketchup, the other mustard. The dogs themselves aren’t anything fancy. The batter is light and fried up nicely with a slight crunch. Just the dogs & drinks are sold here, cash only.

One of our favorite places to go when open hot and fresh make sure you buy more than two because you will want more!

These are the best corn dogs around. Light and tasty cornmeal batter dipped and fried right in front of you. Worth the wait.

Delicious and the fastest corn dogs that I’ve seen. It may look like a little shack but it’s more than that

So cute and yummy! Simple and you can’t beat the location. Parking is obviously terrible but once you find a spot it’s worth it! Gotta try it!

You probably can’t say you’ve truly experienced Grand Haven without a trip to Pronto Pup! This place wasn’t hard to find. It’s across the street from Dairy Treat but really just look for the loooooong line. We visited during the coast guard festivities so perhaps the line was longer than usual. I was a little concerned how long the wait would be but thankfully the line did move along and it ended up being a little over a 20 minute wait. The batter is almost non-existent. I love the corn batter on corn dogs so I wished there was a little more of it but the hot dogs are practically fried to order and came out hot. You can ask for ketchup, mustard, or both on the hot dogs. A pup will only set you back $ 1.75 and if you’re hungry you probably need at least two, more likely three to quell your appetite. Cash only. Small drink — 50 cents Large drink — $ 1 That’s all they sell along with $ 10 t-shirts. Tip: I don’t recommend the lemonade unless you like the Minute Maid lemonade you can get from the grocery store because that’s what it tastes like.

More like extremely DELAYED Pup… har har. The line was SO long, but I went during the huge Coast Guard Festival. I mean, they are good, but was it worth a long wait in the hot sun? I don’t know. But I did it anyway and so did everyone else. It’s sort of, like, in between a hot dog and a corn dog. They skillfully paint the sides with ketchup, mustard or both and you eat it right off the stick. I can see it being a «thing» for 70 years or so. I’m glad I did it. I thought I would want 2, but 1 would have sufficed. Some people skateboard away holding, like, 7 in their hand. It’s the only thing on the menu besides POP and priced at $ 1.75. Sweet deal, dude.

Never fails! Even in the winter when they open up for a few days, I stand out in the cold, long line awaiting these golden brown pups. $ 1.75 for one dog. Why would you not buy 10?

Love Pronto Pups!!! All this is, is a shack that sells delicious hot dogs, fried into what resembles a corn dog, but they don’t use corn batter. It’s more like a pancake batter. Oh man! These sweet, savory and crispy meat sticks are so good. These things are dangerous and addictive. I had 4! The thing is you can finish one in two bites. Anything that you can finish in two bites, should automatically fall in the category of «you can have way more than 2» haha If you’re ever in Grand Haven enjoying the sites, Pronto Pups is a place you should visit. It’s part of the Grand Haven experience. Just walking around and seeing the beautiful lake, with a hot dog on a stick in your hand, what more can you ask for.

I don’t eat hot dogs. I try not to eat fried food. What a treat to break both rules with two Pronto Pups! They were crazy crisp, delicious and the perfect street food to put summer into motion.

Okay, so Pronto Pup… I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect… honestly from the way it sounded I was just getting some deep fried hot dogs with no batter, but then upon my arrival I was informed that it’s actually a thin, wheat based batter instead of corn based like a corn dog(just what my gluten sensitive body needs…). But, when in Rome, or Grand Haven in this case… I did what the locals do and got 2. Wheat Belly be damned, these were pretty good! I wish the hot dog actually had been fried in the oil because me, I like a little snap to my dog, but the batter was light and you could actually taste the hot dog, not just a bunch of corn dog batter like you will in other places. The best part? When I was informed«your first order is on the house» for being a first timer.

This is not a corn dog. It is a delicious hot dog on a stick dipped in Heavenly goodness before taking a hot bath in the deep fryer. The stick is wrapped in your very own napkin and you can have it naked or with ketchup and/or mustard. If you’re a first timer I recommend ordering 4. You’ll look like a first timer if you only order 1, and you will regret it. My grandpa said Pronto Pup was better when the original owner was in charge(still owned by family) because the batter was thicker.

Ok, my dad grew up in GH. I’m surprised how many people actually know and frequent this place, but in a good way! Best ever.

Wow! I have honestly never had a corndog that was hand-dipped right in front of my eyes! Maybe I need to get out more, but I thought it was really cool! Even the ketchup and mustard were brushed on with a little brush. These pups have a little bit less breading than regular corndogs which I actually liked becauae it made them more crispy and delicious. I will see you next time I’m in MI, Pronto Pups!
