Food was good prolly not worth the price of the food but it was good service was good except waitress for got to put in our appetizer so had to have it with our meal. They did take half off appetizer price but still think for the price should have been a little better atmosphere was nice though. I would say it was good but not great.

This restaurant has a great location however, the food, as well as drinks were horrible at this establishment. We started off the evening with ordering cocktails. Mine was overly syrupy and disgusting and my friend got served a martini with fruit flies in it. When she pointed it out, the waitress took it to the kitchen and brought her back the same drink with flies and all! We sent it back and said we didn’t want any other drinks. My friend ordered some sushi and ended up taking 1 bite and sending it back. She said it tasted rotten and the other roll fell apart upon even touching it. I ordered a very drenched with dressing salad which I struggled through half of it. We will never go back which is too bad because the location was very nice.

Gotta get the chicken or seafood nachos and roast beef club. A little bit more expensive, but that comes with the location. Second best deck in town other than the American Legion.

One of the better restaurants in town. Good food, great deck. great view The grilled Tuna steak sandwich and the grilled halibut are both excellent, but I should say I’ve not had a bad meal here in over 20 years of meals.

Nothing beats the view! Its so awesome to sit outside in the sunshine and watch the boats go by while having a cocktail and eating dinner! The cocktails were good, the food is overpriced but decent! Kids Steak is incredible! They could spring for some nice outdoor patio furniture though.

Love the sushi! The jelly roll is my favorite. My other usual dishes are the seafood nachos, regular nachos, the Thai salad, the southwest salad, and the salad with seared ahi tuna! My go to spot for great food in Grand Haven.

Visiting from out of state and came here for dinner. The downstairs seating area feels a little dingy. I think the patio with the view, had it not been an hour wait, would’ve been a little better. The food was pretty mediocre, calamari and crab cakes were good, but the land and sea special wasn’t worth the inflated price and the mixed greens in the salad had some slimy rotten pieces. Probably wouldn’t return :/

Drinks B(no espresso but otherwise okay) Service A — Food C. Disappointing for the price Crab cakes over fried and dried out(more breading than crab) scallops were good but only luke warm and the rice was cold Steak was good and cooked well Sushi was, well what can you expect in small town Michigan? Bottomline. I would not eat here again(but i an a very well travelled diner and rather picky)

2.5 stars Having heard about my brother-in-law taking out-of-town business visitors here, my mom decided she wanted to come here for her birthday. My expectations were not high given the reviews I’d read. First, the interior(first floor restaurant) is definitely nothing to write home about. I understand that the outdoor seating is a draw, but naturally that won’t always be an option. Second, our waitress had less personality than a wet rag. She was so stone faced that it was almost scary. Not once did she smile, and I suspect if we’d asked her for recommendations from the menu, she would have shrugged her shoulders. Lastly, the food — some of it was pretty good, some of it was just average. Word of caution if ordering mac and cheese for a kiddo — it came out so steaming hot(seemed like someone had over-nuked it in the microwave) that we had to let it cool for a very long time before my niece could begin eating. Kudos for having some Michigan wines on the menu though — I liked the Bowers Harbor riesling.

Snug Harbor has an atmosphere that is very intimate and close. This restaurant is family friendly and not far from the beach, and you can watch boats coming in an going out on the channel. The food ranges from classic American to sushi. The sea food is excellent as is the dessert. My family and I have found a new special occasions restaurant.

We were in town checking out food trucks and thinking we wanted something a little better. Wow, this place rocks. Sushi restaurant and so much more. An outside deck overlooking silver lake and a very attractive wait staff. The food comes out like art sculptures and tastes even better.

Amazing view, but prepare for a long, long, long wait for dinner — we arrived at 5:15 on a Tuesday and didn’t get seated until almost 7 p.m. Good variety of food(including some vegetarian items) and a robust drink menu.

Really underwhelmed by Snug Harbor. I guess this is also a review of Jellys since we ordered sushi. My girlfriend and I went here after a day at the beach for our 2 yr anniversary. I ordered a dozen oysters which were extremely plain and had gritty sand on the shells. Instead of serving with a lemon garlic broth they just came with horseradish and cocktail sauce in case you wanted to completely hide the oyster flavor and concentrate on the feeling of gritty sand in your teeth from the unwashed oyster shells. We also ordered some nigiri sushi and several of their«specialty rolls». It was some of the most mediocre sushi I’ve ever had and it took a solid hour for them to bring it out. The nigiri rice was falling apart, everything was bland and uninspired, and the seaweed salad lacked ginger for contrast. Also, this wasn’t apparent from the photos, but the patio is a few feet from the line for the hot dog stand on the street. There’s no privacy or ambience if you go in the early evening while the sun is up but the staff still seemed really snooty and self satisfied. I really recommend finding someplace else to eat.

The upper deck is a great spot to watch the Musical Fountain! We enjoyed the sushi, calamari and clam chowder, and entrees of sirloin and chicken burrito. Nice selection of wine and beer. Friendly attentive service.

We walked in 20 minutes before closing. We had no idea until after we ordered. Overheard the front desk girls chatting and saying«here comes 2 more». Service was mediocre and food was horrific. I will never return

Our waitress did a great job. Very attentive. Our food was fine, nothing amazing. I had a chicken sandwich and my husband had the veggie burrito. Other than the location, I would not be drawn for a repeat visit.

Great atmosphere! Loved having dinner on the water with the sun setting. Beer and drink selection is good. Menu is very nice. Well rounded with lovely fish entrees, steaks, sandwiches and lighter fare. We had side salads, clam chowder, halibut, crab cakes and a steak. All was very good. We were happy to have selected this restaurant. They also serve sushi that looked great.

8 of us took a limo from Rockford to Grand Haven to surprise our wives for dinner. If I was rating to only my own I would give it a 1 but in general we had an OK meal. Crab cakes for app. were tasty but appeared to be premade and frozen — they were a bit mushy and not much texture. The wife had shrimp scampi over linguini, flavor ok but very watery/oily. I had the sashimi tuna over risotto. I ordered med rare and got well done. Would have sent it back but with the limo for transportation we had time constraints. I let the server know I was not happy but she did nothing about it. The others seemed ok with their food but no one was raving about the flavor or quality. It was dark out so we didn’t even get to see the view. Very pricy for a disappointing meal.

Some friends took us here for dinner. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is really nice. The wait was surprisingly short and everyone was very friendly. I had to laugh at the array of dress. From teeny boppers wearing tank tops and bathing suites to business people wearing shirts and ties. The drinks were good and the beer selection was decent. The food was good and I can’t imagine anyone walking away hungry. I had the chicken burrito which was delicious! It seemed to be pretty popular. The prices were on the high side for some of the entrees. Some of the sandwiches were more reasonable. The view is awesome and great people watching. If you haven’t tried Snug Harbor I certainly would.

My husband took me here tonight and the atmosphere was excellent. The hostess was friendly, the small deck at the bay was quaint but absolutely gorgeous to look at. And we did look at it for quite a while as we waited to be seated 40 minutes and waited to eat another 30. Luckily the wine list was filled with variety otherwise we would have been unpleasant. The food just lacked flavor… and I mean literally any flavor. I had the orange ginger salmon which tasted as though the orange ginger was a last minute glazed after thought to the overcooked slice of overcooked fish. My husband had the halibut. The poor guy’s dish was more unfortunate than my own. Our waitress, Amy, however was excellent. We rate her 5 stars. She can’t be blamed for bad recipes and poor cooks.
