This is our favorite place to go for great farm to fork food and the most comprehensive local beers on tap. All the servers are friendly and professional! Recommend to everyone.

The wife and I tried this place for the first time last night and were really impressed. The service was prompt and courteous, the apps, food, and cocktails were on point, and with the Unilocal reservation app, we got seated immediately on a Friday night. We are gluten-free so it was great to have the options clearly marked on the menu and to have a few nice choices available. We will definitely be back.

We love this place for a nice glass of wine(or 3) and some appetizers, which is what I’m basing my review on this time. We actually came in on Valentines Day early afternoon and were surprised that they could squeeze us in, especially since the place filled up so quickly after we got there. We shared a few appetizers that turned out to be dinner with a bottle of wine that might have been the best restaurant wine bargain I’ve met. Every appetizer was really delicious… The bacon jam is super cheesy and so good, squash fritters were unique and tasty though the apple butter didn’t seem to go well and the cheese curds were as good as you’ll get. And we threw in an order of french fries with a side of garlic aioli. Top it all off with a bottle of Joel Gott 2012 Merlot for $ 25 and we left completely satisfied.

We have had several dinning experiences here. Honestly they vary quite a bit. This time I had the bison burger. It was great. As many of us are I am trying to watch fat intake. Bison is a great way to do that but still get to eat a burger. My wife had the tuna lettuce wrap appetizer as her meal. It was only ok. She ended up trading me some of that for some of my bison. I generally love tuna, but this was meh. Their beer selection is pretty fantastic. There is always a rotating selection of good craft beers. Their liquor selection is good too. I ordered a Manhattan. For $ 9.50 for the drink it was way over priced. The liquor to cost ratio was poor. Will I go again? Probably. But that is because of the lack of diversity of places to eat in the area that are not chains. It is a sold three star, but does not knock my socks off.

This is a serviceable restaurant with a decent number of gluten free options. I like that their menu points out which items are gluten free but it worries me that a menu item labeled GF has farro in it as farro is a type of wheat. Went there for dinner last weekend and I was more impressed by the options this time around. Started with the tuna lettuce wraps, which I thought were good but could have used more flavor, and the bacon, which was amazing. I loved the smoked duck tacos that I ordered for dinner and those in my party had good things to say about their meal as well.

Excellent food and great selection of local beers. This is one of the few places where I enjoy multiple menu items. The fried chicken sandwich is pretty awesome, I wish they’d throw it on a waffle instead! Pot pie is also amazing, probably one of their most popular dishes. I’ve also had chicken tacos, which actually were pretty good with some decent salsa verde, and that’s coming from a taco aficionado in a town with no good taco places. Though, I really wish they’d add cilantro. Trout is awesome too. Had a friend get short ribs, rated them as just okay, and the mashed potatoes that came with them were basic, nothing special. Definitely don’t leave without some fried ice cream! The inside is comfortable and there are TVs throughout if you want to catch the game. Servers we’ve had have been good and they don’t bug the hell out of you, while at the same time making sure you have full drinks, etc. Overall, wonderful local place that sources locally, so support it and our local economy over those often terrible chains with bland menus.

I had the smoked duck tacos complete with guac, pico de gallo, and nice green chili sauce. The local beer selection for brews from Chicago, Michigan and Indiana were well priced and the staff was friendly and helpful. I will stop back the next time I am in town.

In town visiting my family for the holiday and my Mom suggested we all meet here for dinner Friday night. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked out the menu online… I’m glad the Bend is getting more cool places to eat these days. The concept behind Rocky River is farm-to-table so much of the food is locally sourced. Our waitress was AWESOME! Happily brought me hot tea(no cringe suppressed for not ordering booze), refilled my hot water, and noticed my salad was dressing ON it rather than on the side before I did(apologized and ordered a new one). I had a salmon salad. Pretty good. Salmon cooked to perfection. Salad seemed a little«empty» but the greens were fresh and delicious and the pomegranate dressing was great!!! My mom had the bison burger which she loved. My dad had the rib. Fries were hot and crisp and I happily helped myself to a few handfuls, smothered in organic ketchup. My aunt got the vegetable stack and was obsessed. Will be back for sure! Great place to eat in northwest Indiana!

Oh man… it saddens me to write this review. I came after work yesterday and opted to sit at the bar. Previous reviews had me pumped to try a new restaurant. However the food left me disappointed. Tried the pulled pork & blue cheese crostini… very odd combination. It just did not work for me. I can’t put my finger on it, but not a good pairing and the pork had a lot for liquid on it. For my meal I had the Tuscan salad… again another strange pairing. But more than that, the ingredients were not of good quality. The pepperoni could have been better, the prosciutto should have been toasted or made crispy that would have been awesomeness instead it was tough and hard to chew. I don’t think the eggs belonged on the salad and not sure why they used mozzarella cheese. It was more like a confused antipasto salad over greens. Great place to go for beer as they have a lot of options. Maybe opt to stick to «bar food options» burgers, etc. Me personally not a place I’d return to.

What a seriously awesome experience I had here. In fact, eating here was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a really long time. They did it ALL right. I came here with my husband and two daughters to celebrate closing on our new house. Plus, their beer taps are plentiful, and as a beer geek this is a must when I’m choosing a special occasion place to go out to. When we walked in, we were greeted by two friendly hosts that let us sort of take it all in before they directed us to our spot. Its a comfortable clean lobby with fresh light colors and some interesting chalkboard art that tells a little about the business. I really liked how it didn’t seem like they were trying too hard to be «cool» yet, it was cool for sure. We came in around 7(a late dinner for our kids) and greeted by an awesome waitress(I WISH I COULDREMEMBERHERNAME!!) She could tell our kids were hungry and suggested an appetizer that came out quick and that everyone loved. We got the fresh(I think baked) mozzarella which came in a little boat dish with some bread to put it on. It was gooey and seasoned and delicious. Melted cheese on bread? Whats not to love? Dinner was just as delightful. Everything was hot, on time, and GONE at the end of the meal… we had no left overs! :) When offered a free dessert in congrats for our new house, we gladly picked the salted caramel and fudge brownie with ice cream. It was to die for and perfect for sharing between the four of us. I can’t wait to go back again and again to this awesome establishment that made us feel so welcome, comfortable, and satisfied with our experience! :)

After a whole day of golf, my friends took us here for dinner on a Saturday(Memorial Day weekend)…maybe it was the time we showed up(530pm) but it was pretty quiet in there. My friends said it’s generally crowded on here but I’m guessing the crowd comes later. Service was good. Parking outside in the lot. This restaurant is in a plaza with other businesses as well. My husband started with their ceasar salad which he thought was not that good. I liked it, but he said the croutons taste funny and it didnt meet his expectation. We all had a plate of cheese and sausages as starters. I thought that was okay. For entrée I had the grilled chicken sriracha club– The grilled chicken was okay, I like the extras that came with it though(onions, guacamole, bacon, etc). I had it with fries — these fries were very crispy because they fry it twice. I didn’t like it that much. My husband had their Rocky River burger which I thought taste better than my sandwich. He didn’t like the fries either. The kids we were with had their hush puppies… the restaurant gave them crayons and a sheet to color to keep them occupied. Overall this is an okay place.

I am a little on the fence on this place. So far me and my fiancé have been here twice and each time the dishes have been rather hit or miss. Trip Numero Uno: Goat Cheese and Peppers flatbread. We should have known not to order this when are server said she’d never seen it before. The flavor combination just didn’t work for either of us and textually wasn’t very appealing. Beat Salad. Fiancé ordered this and loved it… I can’t comment since I didn’t try it but I trust her judgement. Rocky River Burger. WAY undercooked. I ordered it medium and it was straight up seared and raw… not good. Trip Numero Dos: Beat Salad. $$ Chicken Parm Sandwich. Really good and a huge boost up from the burger. Service both times was pretty solid but nothing to write home about.

We recently ate here again and it was extremely refreshing considering our last visits. I ordered the fish and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the pot roast and the sauce was wonderful. Everyone knows it’s the sauce that makes the pot roast. It was still loud, but for a party of two at a high top it wasn’t a big deal. I highly recommend calling before visiting the wait time quoted can be over 45 minutes depending on the night. Our server was very friendly as well. I feel the seasonings and serving sizes have improved since my last review.

Sitting at the bar, service top notch with Nick. This is how it should be. Asked for and missed JD, much better experience though! :). Please don’t look much into my last review, it must’ve been a fluke. We will continue sitting at the bar though.

Okay, yes there are televisions. And yes the ambiance is «sports bar.» Sorry folks: this is Michiana, and it is incredibly hard for a non-chain to survive without these things. But oh my god do these chefs understand the«chaining of flavors» from one ingredient to the other. Take for example the olive appetizer: kalamata and cerignola olives, bacon, marcona almonds, in a «vinaigrette» of sweet blackcurrant wine and bacon fat. The umame of the bacon brings out the duskiness of the olives, but the brilliance of the brine and nuttiness of the almonds keeps it from being too brooding. Just one example. The honeycrisp apple salad is another. Ask to be seated as far from the tvs as you can(not easy) and if there are overly noisy patrons, politely ask them to settle down. This kind of food is hard to come by even in Chicago; don’t turn your nose up at it here.

I’ve now been here numerous times and I feel compelled to update my review. My experience has definitely been hit or miss and the food has been inconsistent. Our most recent visit was an early Sunday evening. It wasn’t busy and we were seated right away. Service was very slow. We were sitting in the bar with the bartender as our server and it felt like he kept forgetting about us which I could understand if the bar was busy, but it wasn’t. We started with the goat cheese small plate which we loved the first time we had it. What a disappointment — the serving was significantly smaller and had a pitiful sprinkling of veggies on top. We actually opted to leave after the appetizer and our drinks. I’m sure we will still give it another chance(we have a gift card to use!), but really hope they work out the inconsistencies.
