I do not recommend going through the drive thru because I can guarantee you they will mess up your order 90% of the time. I’m confused how that’s possible because they read the order back and it is correct but what ends up in my bag is different. $ 12 on tacos and nachos is not enough to get me to turn around when the order is wrong but it is very consistent and overall annoying. The reason I am giving them 4 stars is because their food is still WAY better than Taco Bell and the staff is friendly. Plus they sometimes throw in extra food without charging but obviously on accident because they literally can not get drive thru orders correct. That’s a win in my opinion.

We stopped here on our way back to Houston. My father always talks about how he remembers it being in Houston and every item on the menu was 20 cents or something… Anyway we decided to give it a try. I order the Bueno burrito. It is beans rice cheese chicken cheese. It was decent for fast food. Better than Taco Bell and cheaper. My boyfriend ordered the chicken quesadilla and its way bigger than taco bells. It comes on the open folded paper package that was weird but it was decent. Of course fast food isn’t going to be gourmet but it was fast and did its job

Personally I liked the totally retro look of this Taco Bueno, but my appreciation for this«restaurant» ends there. I was actually waiting to pick up a prescription at Grapevine Drug Mart(right next door) so walked over to this Taco Bueno for a quick snack. I went with a combo that featured nachos and a soft taco. There is really nothing good to say about the experience. The highlight was the chips, as they were lighter and crispier than I was expecting, but it was all downhill from there. The«cheese» on the nachos was a thin orange sauce and my taco’s tortilla was out-of-the-package cold. Very unappealing. That being said, I did eat everything, as I was rather hungry, but I think the generous dousing of the dishes with salsa, jalapenos, onions and pico de gallo helped(Taco Bueno does do an OK job with that salsa bar).

This place should be bulldozed and start from scratch. Nothing has been changed since as long as I can remember(25+ years). The parking lots is where potholes go to die. Oh the food. NOT consistent with any other Taco Bueno. The chips were not fresh and look store bought. The queso was an orange mess. Looks nothing like what I normally get at my local store. The tortillas were dry as hell. I can’t figure if it was yesterday’s leftovers or last weeks.
