Twisted Burger

What a great find! I’m willing to try new and local restaurants and I’m glad I gave Twisted Burger a chance.
Went there for lunch not knowing what to expect.
Their menu is beyond overwhelming. Pretty much every option on the menu sounded good.
I didn’t know what to try so I ordered what the server suggested, the California Burger.
It was good and I’m glad I tried it.
My kids liked this place as well.
We came back the next day to try a different burger.
Both times service was great and quick.
The fries are huge! A small order could probably feed 2 – 3 people.
As much as enjoyed TB, and I really did, I wish the burger and fries would have more seasoning.
I’ll go back again and again and again.

Awesome place!!! Staff was very friendly. The food was phenomenal. We ate there when Captain America Civil War came out so they had a promotion called The Civil War. It consisted of a Captain America bigger and an Iron Man burger along with fries. Don’t remember what was on each burger but they were great. Also got a mint shake and a cookies and cream. They were also good. Great atmosphere in the downtown area. You can even eat outside if you can find an open table. Highly recommend this place. Will def go back.

Great place to take the kids after baseball practice. Great food and service with a tremendous menu! Something for everyone.

Quick and friendly service, really good food, really (REALLY) loud music.
I get a vintage feel from the interior, almost reminds me of Johnny Rockets except with dimmer, redder lighting. The music is loud to the point where it can be difficult to carry on a conversation. Not a huge deal for me because it’s the kind of place you’d want to hold long, intense conversations in, anyway.
Aside from that, the food is great. Diverse, descriptive menu. I ordered the Classic burger and small fries. I ended up having to request a *large* to go box for the «small» fries, which was a plus for me haha. I don’t know how much I can say about a burger in general, but it was well seasoned and cooked perfectly (medium rare. fight me on this lol). I eat a lot of burgers (and in general) and this one was definitely up there.
All in all, a good meal!

Great cheese fries. Amazing salads for vegetarians and a good veggie burger could be better. Fun place to go with friends

O M G amazing! Brought 5 people, about $ 45. The burgers are SO GOOD! So juicy, great cheese, a lot of bacon on the bacon burger. My brother got the Mac and cheese burger and I was jealous. The burgers are huge! Icecream Sundays for desert.

Nice little place with an extensive menu. Even if you’re not interested in a burger, there are tons of other choices. Ordered the die hard and my girlfriend ordered the porky hot dog. According to her, the hot dog was a little dry and could have used more bbq sauce. My burger however was amazing, tons of flavor and a great price for how much food you get. Even though the place was packed, service was quick and friendly. Waitresses checked up often and had good recommendations. Really cool burger joint.

I went with a party of 7 and the food was delicious, but it took a long time to get there. First, I ordered a shake and they gave me the wrong one. Later they told me they knew it was wrong, but decided to give it to me anyways and not tell me. Then (I ordered a chicken avocado bacon club –no bacon) they gave me a burger instead of chicken. They took my food back and brought me a new one (after everyone else was done eating) and it had bacon on it. My father also ordered a burger with pulled pork on top. They failed to mention that they were out of the pork until food had already been brought to others at the table. He took his good to go since it came after I myself was done with my food. They messed up other various parts of our order and brought other people’s food to our table constantly. though the food was good, the service was terrible. I won’t be going back.

A lot of people will compare this to Bulldogs since it essentially picked up right where they left off, but something about this place is off to me now.
Don’t get me wrong; I do enjoy the food and the environment is also fun. Like any gourmet burger joint, you’re going to pay a pretty penny just for your burger. Fries are not included if I’m remembering correctly, and I think my usual bill ends up around $ 12 or so. The burgers are tasty, but with the price point I try to limit my visits.

Yum! My hubby and I loved it! Great staff and interesting menu! Definitely now our go to place for small town real burgers! And the shakes, double yum!

I haven’t been to every burger joint in this area but this little joint has to be one of the best, at least it was for me. I had a Denver burger that was great. It was a burger with a slice of grilled ham and a mini Denver omelet on top of the great tasting ground beef. The excellent bun had charred edges and held it all together nicely. It was so hot I had to wait for it to cool off a bit before I could eat it. I also loved the fresh cut fries that may be too well done for some, but perfect for me. The small order I got was enough for two.
Huge burger menu with all kinds of combinations and catchy names. Chicken and hot dog offerings too. Plenty of seating inside. Fantastic value.
I may upgrade to five stars as I try more of the menu.

I had the Chicago Dog, cheese fries, & a salad. The food was ok. The staff was nice & helpful. Not sure if this is a place I would come back to the next time that I visit my sister.

Little diner-​style joint where you order at the counter and then have a seat. Some friends who live in the area recommended we give them a try when we found ourselves in Grayslake at dinner time. Plenty of interesting burger combos to choose from and you can make-​your-​own as well. The Hubs & I both enjoyed our burgers and they use Turano buns, which are always good in my book. We shared a «small» order of Parmesan Garlic fries as well and they were very good and more than enough to share… we didn’t even finish them it was such a huge mound! They also have a lot of different shakes as well but we were too stuffed to even try one. If we lived in the area we would definitely frequent this place, but alas, we do not…

Great assortment of Burgers, wraps, wings… Etc. a small fry will feed a whole table. I suggest the Parmesan fries. You can sub chicken on any burger. I had the EL Diablo. Good sized burgers. Military discount. Diner atmosphere and staff was very nice and helpful. Took pictures for us.
It was dead when we got there, busy when we left. It’s is a small space but, it didn’t cause any issues. Definitely try it.

The Good:
Shakes and malts are awesome!
They make them to order so you may be done with your meal before your shake arrives, but they are worth the wait.
Fries are great as well.
The Bad:
The best part of the «burger» was the bun.
When you have burger in the name of your restaurant, you should probably serve a good burger. Sadly this is not the case. While they have a never ending variety of burgers, the «burger» part is where they fall down. The burger patty is over done and pressed flat on a flat top. I had a single cheeseburger and ate less than half. My kids ordered other burgers and enjoyed them more than me, but still ate less than half each. Wife ordered the Caesar salad described as «not bad, just odd» they put chicken fries on it which she seemed to enjoy. youngest child ordered Italian Beef and I have to say this was close to the worst Italian beef ever. More of a french dip than Italian beef (not a good french dip either).
The Ugly:
Very loud and small.
Very small.
No clear direction as to the process.
If you are reading this review and choose to go there for shakes and fries, Here is how it works to the best of my ability to figure it out.
Enter off Center street cashier takes your order, writes it down then rings it up. There is a counter but it is not clear if you can sit there and order or if you need to order first then sit at counter. After ordering you are given a number and you find a table. If you happen to have more than 4 people in your party you are out of luck. They do not have the ability to handle parties larger than 4. Lets get back to this part where the cashier writes down your order like he was standing at your table taking your order… but hes not… he is standing in front of the cash register… he then rings up your order. A complete waste of time.
Unsolicited advice to the owners:
Invest in a POS and stop turning your beef patties into hockey pucks

This place offers some great burgers! It’s very casual, order at the counter, made to order food.
There is a plethora of different and unique burger combos as well as the basics. I ordered a Italian beef burger (big beefy) and my husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwhiches (triple bypass). They were both fantastic. They use fresh hand packed burgers (no frozen) and they are seasoned great. We also ordered chili cheese fries & regular fries. I was so so on the fries. A little on the greasy and «limp» side for me. Smothered in chili, they were good. :)
The portions are rather large. My husband & I (we are both big eaters) could have split a burger and large fry and been full.
