JB’s is classic in good ol’ Greeley, Colorado. Admittedly, the food is good, though won’t knock your socks off. But for me, as long as the food is good, I’ll go for the atmosphere, and atmosphere is something this place is NOT lacking in! It’s very family oriented and the waitstaff are 8⁄10 the kids from the neighborhood, which is really neat! Their root beer as mentioned in every other review should definitely be had! Overall, just a great business to have in the community!

This place is affordable and homemade quality! I’m addicted to their root beer that they make themselves. Greeley made beef patties and everything fresh. Something like this back in Vegas would cost an arm and a leg. Greeley is lucky to have such a restaurant available.

JB’s is a Greeley classic! Super delicious root beer and hamburgers, the one con is the prices can be pretty steep for this kind of restaurant. Many people I know love JB’s but only eat here once in awhile because of the high prices.

Hard to understand the raving reviews. Perhaps the good folks of Greeley just haven’t had access to really good burgers in quite some time. There is nothing special about this place, not even the atmosphere either in the parking lot, or in the dining area. The burger and fries combo pictured, was almost $ 8.00. You would get three times the size of the burger at Carl Jr’s or even McDonald’s, and for the same price, or less. The meat on the burger was tasty enough, but an exceptionally small portion, around 1⁄8 of a pound would be my guess, only slightly larger than the baby burger you get at McDonald’s. The lettuce on the burger was not exactly fresh. At least one day old if not more. The fries were just fries, nothing special. The root beer was good, but it was served with no ice. Perhaps a lot of folks like it that way and admittedly it’s a good value, but I prefer ice, because I hate it when the drink starts to get warm. Sorry JB’s, just not impressed, although it was fun to call the order in from the bat phone at the table.

Really can’t go wrong with anything you order but a double double and waffle fries are my go to. Unless I feel like spoiling myself then I get the shrimp basket. The shrimp are huge.

The experience is what makes this place so great. It feels like you steeped back in time intro the 50s. Their homemade root beer is outstanding and the cheese burger really hit the spot!

THEGOOD: JB’s(Jess Benjamin) is a classic All-American Drive-in that first opened in 1937. When you drive up to it, you can’t help but feel like you travelled back to 1956. I can almost hear Buddy Holly blaring from a jukebox. You can choose to eat in your car(carhop) or in the dining area. It sure was fun to share lunch with my son today. Thank goodness this place has survived. They get 5 stars for being a legendary landmark and never changing a thing. THEBAD: The burgers we ordered came out warm and freshly made. Sadly, it’s about the same quality as A&W. So were the fries. Pretty bland actually. I was expecting something more unique and spectacular! We did enjoy the home made Root Beer. Ice cold and creamy. We will be back to try other items. I hear the shrimp and fried chicken are tasty. THEUGLY: Seems like a bad neighborhood built itself around this landmark over the years. In a liquor store, tatoo parlor, tobacco shop, mexican carniceria kinda way.

This place is so good! I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon, waffle fries, and a root beer. SOOODELICIOUS! I have also had a hot fudge and peanut butter shake and that was the best shake I have ever had!

This original, local drive-in is sandwiched between all of the usual fast-food stand-by’s so it’s almost hard to spot. I was craving a burger for the ride back to Denver from Greeley, so I opted to try JB’s over the standard burger joint. I tried only a cheeseburger but it was pretty good! Delivered to my car window hot & freshly made. and about the same price as the chains… I’ll definitely stop back and try a few other menu choices.

I was very disappointed by J.B.‘s, both times I’ve been here. The burgers are McDonald’s quality, and the waffle fries I ordered literally tasted the same as those from the dining hall at UNC. All this while being ridiculously overpriced. They don’t even have combos on their menu, so ordering a burger, fries, and a drink will run you about $ 8 or $ 9. J.B.‘s somehow thinks that just because they have the novelty of being an «original» drive-in, they can get away with awful quality — and this is completely unacceptable to me. I’d rather go to Sonic honestly.

I always order the double double burger here. They are so good and are reminiscent of that awesome West Coast small burger chain we all know and love. Today I’m trying the chicken basket, so I will update this review once I try it. For some reason I’m thinking it will be damn good.

If you’re looking for the drive-in experience don’t miss J.B.‘s in Greeley, CO. I didn’t really know what to expect but I love these types of places and J.B.‘s didn’t let me down. In fact, every time I expect to be in Greeley I will make a honest attempt to come here to eat. To me it was an awesome find and to those scoring low reviews of the place, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Fantastic drive-in burgers — definitely the best I’ve had at any drive-in type establishment period. You don’t know what you’re missing if you don’t check this place out. The BURGERS&CORNDOGS are hot and delicious and it’s no wonder they’ve succeeded since 1937! My only regret is that I didn’t order the double double burger… but I WILL be back!

One of the few drive ups of yesteryear in the area. I mean real drive ups like from the 50’s where you sit in your car and eat a burger. Of course there are the chain restaurants doing this but this is an original! JB’s as a result is a seasonal institution for the town of Greeley. The burgers themselves are not really unique. No green chile burger or the like but they still taste good! The place is inexpensive too! That is also a perk and it is fun to eat your burger with the rest of your meal hanging on the side of your window!

It use to be rare to see car hops still around, now that Sonics are springing up everywhere — not so much anymore. The place is an original. The inside dinner hasn’t been updated since the 70’s with wood panels and carpet walls. The vents and the carpet walls probably haven’t been clean since then as well. To place an order, you have to use this red telephone at your table and press a black button. The people at the other end don’t pick up right away, I’ll say it was about 2 minutes before I heard another voice at the other end. My order: The double double: Very good tasting burger. The bun was a little soggy, maybe from the cheese, mayo and tomato. Chicken sandwich off the bun(Cajun style seasoning): Disappointing, It was just a chicken breast smothered with cajun seasoning. All they gave me was a plastic fork to eat it with, no knife to cut it up. Thankfully it wasn’t over cooked, so that I could at least attempt to cut it with the side of the plastic fork. Chili: Well, one it had red beans in it – any chili with beans in it – is not really chili. Ignoring the beans, it wasn’t really chili either. It’s what I would call texas style hot dog sauce. It was ground beef with seasoning. I’m assuming that is what they would use on their«chili dogs» — if so then it’s not a chili dog, it’s a texas hot. The chili was basically bland, other then the cumin in it, defiantly needed to season it with salt and pepper my self. Medium root beer float: Tasty, and comes in a tall frosted glass. Overall, this place is like a bad truck stop restaurant. Greasy food with little or too much flavoring. The people seem nice, and the waitress wear outfits that resemble car hops back in the 50’s. The prices are cheap, it only cost me $ 13, but they will try and nickle and dime you with the extras.

I thought about going to JB’s last Friday, but it was graduation weekend, so JB’s was a madhouse. Makes sense, I suppose: if I were a UNC student, and my parents were visiting, I’d probably take ‘em to JB’s too. It’s just that kind of place. You can’t get fish and chips this good at most drive-ins. Okay, you can’t get fish this good. The chips are all right. The shrimp basket, though, is my favorite. They give you three pieces of shrimp(doesn’t sound like much, but I assure you, it is), french fries, a «salad»(a tiny cup of shredded lettuce with French dressing), and toast. The toast is really the best part. All the grease from the shrimp(which really isn’t all that much) soaks into the bread, and you have a salty, shrimpy treat for dessert. Yay! But let me get back to that shrimp. «Jumbo» is an understatement. The shrimp is butterflied and coated with a panko-like breading, then fried into submission by a sorority girl. It’s divine. It comes with tartar sauce by default, but they have cocktail sauce too. I like the tartar sauce. It’s the only acceptable use of Miracle Whip I’ve ever found. The root beer coolers are great, a blended root beer float/milkshake. If you dine inside, you probably don’t need to order the large, unless you’re one of those eating-contest people. The whole restaurant is a throwback to a time that most of us are probably too young to remember. You can even tell exactly where the smoking section used to be. It’s orange. This place clears out really fast once the rush is over, so if you go on the weekends, go early or late like the old folks, or be prepared to wait a while.
