First and last time at this place! Went there with my boyfriend as we were on that side of town. The initial appearance of the restaurant was good. But because the main dining room was almost full(though a few table were still open) we were seated in an area of to the side. First this was a very drafty location and on a cold night I was wearing both my coat and my boyfriend’s coat. Then we’re were given menus and drink order was taken but that alone took about 15 min to get to the table. It then took another 45 min for them to come take out order(by that time people who had come in after us had finished their food and left. We had to go get someone in order to place our order. Once we finally had put food it was mediocre at best. Very disappointed in my experience. We will not be going back… Wish I would have left 10min after arriving. Could have gone to McDonald’s and had a better experience.

Stopped here on a recommendation from a coworker. I got the garlic honey chicken and a veggie spring roll, husband got the twice cooked pork. We both got tea. They have a small selection of teas to choose from, which is nice. And it seemed the waiter knew a bit about tea as well. I really liked that there’s a window into the kitchen area, and the kitchen looks very neat, clean and organized. The food was good, only critique the husband had was that he’s had the same dish at other restaurants and has had more meat in it, in the past. My only critique is the spring rolls weren’t my favorite. But I’m a bit elitist about egg rolls, I’m the first to admit it. We will definitely come back and try the sushi and their Thai offerings.

Absolutely terrible. Ordered online. Don’t bother. They give you what they want. Ordered shrimp tempura with rice. Got mixed veggie tempura with no rice. Also ordered sushi. I think it was made yesterday. They put it in with the hot food! Don’t waste your money on this crap!!!

This place is great! Everything was nice and fresh. First time in a long time I’ve been to a place where the steak was actually tenderloin and not just beef. Fantastic. New favorite.

Terrible food and the guy I ordered from actually tried to talk me out of ordering more. He probably figured I would suffer enough from the pepper steak and egg rolls and beef fried rice that I ordered. The beef fried rice was awful with what seemed like freeze dried peas thrown in. I hate rice like that. The pepper steak was not good and kind of rubbery. I would never order from here. I’d rather just feed off my fat and starve if this were the only choice.

Great food, great service! It seems like it is hard to find good Chinese food and it is especially hard to find Chinese that isn’t take out only or a buffet. Chef Chus was fresh, quick and delicious. I had the beed and scallops which is essentially broccoli beef with scallops added. They were generous with the portions and it was served in a heated bowl to keep it warm. The egg drop soup and egg roll were spot on as well. Service was quick and good. Would definitely recommend!

Wife and I go there all the time and have never been disappointed. You can modify your dish to your liking just communicate with your waiter. Food quality always great, fresh good ambiance

Here is a mystery… Why is parking lot at Applebee’s and Olive Garden packed while there are many tables open here? Hell, there is even a line of cars waiting at Culver’s and Wendy’s nearby. I understand it you don’t like Chinese food, but otherwise you should consider lunch at Chef Chu’s! First of all, the food is fresh, hot and tasty. The Lunch menu is extensive and CHEAP! I had Sesame Chicken, which included a choice of Soup and an Egg Roll for less than $ 10… Which included the tip! It also come fast. So you can get in and out rather quickly if you would like. Otherwise it is a very nice place to meet a friend and spend some time. I actually liked the waterfall that provides background during the meal. Maybe it’s marketing, maybe it’s the location(off the main drag) or maybe people don’t like Chinese, but this place should have the packed parking lot… Not the chain or fast food restaurants.

Delivery order of Kung pao chicken with egg drop soup. Fast lunch delivery. Ingredients were fresh Kung pao sauce was weak. Soup was quite good. A solid three

Chef chu’s is by far the nicest Chinese restaurant in Green Bay, as far as dining-in is concerned(which isn’t saying much). They use cloth napkins which is a big plus in my book. I ordered a general chows dish but had them use tofu instead chicken, which is not on the menu. They seemed to be more than happy to please. The tofu was cut a little larger than I care for but they were real nice and crunchy on the outside, which is the way I like it. The vegetable tempura was good and they gave plenty for the price. The baby bok choy was recommend to us by the waitress and turned out to be very delicious and flavorful.

Very disappointing, our waitress was not very friendly. The sweet and sour soup was very odd tasting. My main course was good but I also got Takeout for later and I took one bite of the Singapore noodles. The beef in it had an off taste and there was yellow curry in it? It was not listed as a Thai dish either. Will not go back…

We think Chef Chus is the best Chinese restaurant in Green Bay! I do not agree with some of the other reviewers saying negative things about the food. We have eaten at Chef Chus more times than I can count over the years and we have ALWAYS had excellent food. Its very fresh and the restaurant is very clean. We always get incredible service there also. If we want a perfect dining experience, we go to Chef Chus!

This was once the best Chinese restaurant in town. The wait staff isn’t very friendly and the last couple times we have been here the food has been very cold. We ordered takeout from here all the time and have gone in and ate numerous times I’m not sure we will come back.

The best part about the meal was the glass of coke. 1) hot &sour soup tasted old and stale 2) spicy basil didn’t smell of basil and the chicken seemed undercooked 3) Penang curry tasted watery instead of testing like coconut milk and why is there so much oil? Note to self never go to a place that specializes in Chinese, Thai and Japanese cuisine it just means they are equally bad in all.

Fried rice was too dry, and the Hot & Sour soup was low average. Nice place, great service the main dishes were a tad better.

Best Chinese food in Green Bay. Owners are very friendly. Mixture of popular«Americanized» dishes & authentic Chinese. My wife is Chinese so we know the difference:) I suggest one try them out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Referred to Unilocal for a decent Chinese place while I was in town for business. Pleasantly surprised with Chef Chu’s. Got into town and stopped by to get take out. 2 sushi rolls and some chicken Pad Thai. Food was prepared quickly and the glass of wine I had while I waited was great. Everything tasted great! Very happy considering the area. I would definitely recommend this place.

This review is based on take-out only. My husband called and placed the order yesterday so we could swing by after we were done running errands. While on the phone with the guy taking our order, my husband was asked for a phone number. Ok no problem. Since the cell is not a Green Bay or even Wisconsin number, the guy on the other end asked if we were even in town. So basically I’m assuming he thinks we are prank ordering a large order for dinner and we aren’t going to REALLY pick up or pay. REALLY?! Um, hello… people do travel and move and keep their same cell number. So anyway, we picked up our food 10 – 15 min later and I was a little impressed with how heavy the bag felt. I ordered 2 Pork Spring rolls and Orange Chicken. My husband ordered Pork Pad Thai and Shrimp Fried Rice. I was pretty disappointed there was no sauce(sweet chili) for my spring rolls but they were ok. My orange chicken tasted like something you get in the food court at a mall. It was good but not great. I’d get it again since GOOD Chinese food in GB is super hard to find. My husbands pork pad Thai was disgusting. I have never seen or eaten a slightly green colored pork before. And they call that pad Thai. That needs to be taken off their menu… it was nasty and flavorless. The shrimp fried rice was good… how can anyone screw that up. So we may return but there is a better Chinese restaurant in Appleton if we are willing to drive. If not… I guess we’d try this place again.

I’ve been here several times now along with visiting other Chinese restaurants in the Green Bay area and I have to say this is the best. The food is made fresh and served hot the way Chinese should be. This this along with the fact that no MSG is used sets the place miles apart from the all-you-can-eat buffets. Plus, the atmosphere is very cool and because there’s a glass wall separating the dining area from the kitchen you can watch the chefs cook, which only adds to the experience. Two thumbs way up!
