Well, we tried to have breakfast here this morning. Unilocal indicates they open at 7 but when directed to their Facebook page it said 8 on Sunday’s. We waited until closer to 8 to head over and arrived at about 7:55. The place was dark so we waited a few more minutes before approaching the door. There was a small sign indicating that they would be opened at 10:00 on Mother’s Day. Pretty inconvenient, a notice on their Facebook page would have been helpful.

Disappointing $ 6 breakfast panini. Bacon wasn’t crispy, the eggs may not be real plus they tasted microwaved, and it took over 20 minutes to be made despite there being only 4 customers in the whole place. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

This was a fun place to go with the family and the waiter was fun too. Gourmet food for a good price.

A quaint little place hidden in downtown Gresham. We entered into a warm, inviting atmosphere and my first thought was«wow it’s smaller than I thought it would be!» I quickly noticed all of the lovely little pastries and goodies on display at the counter as we sat down at our table which was elegantly set with pretty silverware, glasses, and a glass bottle of water. I’ve never seen that before at a restaurant. Quite a nice touch. We ordered a flatbread pizza to share along with two side salads, a glass of wine and a glass of hard cider. The salads are a wonderful mix of fresh baby greens, croutons, tomatoes, and a dressing of your choice. I ordered the vinaigrette which was delicious. My moscato arrived in a fancy stemless wine glass and was perfectly sweet and a great compliment to the chipotle chicken pizza. Their selection of cider is from the company Atlas. It leans on the hoppy side, but it is a lot more carbonated than a lot of ciders out there which makes it very good. The pizza was, in short, outstanding. The crust to sauce to topping ratio was spot-on, and the crust itself was deliciously crispy — yet soft. I felt like I was absolutely eating a hand crafted quality artisan pizza as opposed to something from the freezer. The pizzas are a good size for sharing between two people for a nice meal that will leave you satisfied, but not lethargic like some pizzas and other heavier meals can. I will definitely be back to try other pizzas and menu items. Absolutely a new favorite.

I had the opportunity to experience a lunch at Bistro 214 on a very quiet Sunday afternoon with my husband and 2 ½ year old son. We were the only patrons in the Bistro at the time. The atmosphere can be described as simplistic yet«homey». In fact, the family dining table we sat at in the Bistro is the exact one we have at home. There was one server and a cook this afternoon; we were greeted cordially and our needs were met as we requested(i.e., requesting a plate for my son to share my sandwich and salad, seeking clarification if we were to drink the water in the closed decorative bottle placed in the center of the table prior to our arrival as there was no approach to our table to fill up our water cups). The service was very basic and unoffensive with provision of minimum interaction between us and the server. As for the food and drink, I ordered a chai and the Chicken Club sandwich with a side salad. Like the service the food was unoffensive. The chicken was a tad dry but the general flavors were otherwise okay. My chai was pleasant and hot when served. My husband ordered a hot chocolate to share with my son and the Bar-B-Q sandwich with salad – his report was, «it was fine.» Generally we did not have a bad experience and left pleased with the quietness of our afternoon. The Bistro itself did not leave a grand impression on us however it was not an unpleasant experience relative to both customer service and the food.

I liked this place! Open and relaxed atmosphere and a simple menu with interesting choices. The food was great: I had a pasta dish which featured hazelnuts, she had a panini. We got side salads which were very good and I had a glass of merlot. The price was very good — 28 bucks. I thought about giving them my first 5 star rating but decided that a few minor things like some burnt out decorative bulbs and some excess cords on the ceiling distracted a bit. I need to go back to try the breakfast sandwiches and a couple of small plates. Maybe some desert too. .

Some of the best food I’ve had. I am never disappointed in the coffee and the salads there are to die for. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. My friends who come visit me from out of town always meet up with me here because it is so good and the atmosphere is so relaxing.

Have really been enjoying their flatbread pizza’s(Meat Me @ 214 and Besto Pesto). Each ingredient is fresh, high quality and flavorful. The price is on all their menu items are very fair. If they have Peanut Butter Cookies available, please leave them for me. Owners and staff always make us feel welcome.

Love this place and I hope it sticks around. We have eaten here a couple of times and really enjoyed the pizza and the pasta. We have tried the macaroni and cheese which was pretty good and the pasta with sausage was amazing! Even my finicky son had the turkey panini and loved it. Definitely worth a visit and a nice change of food venue for Gresham. Prices are also reasonable for high quality food!

First time here and we love it! The vibe is very cool and the food is delicious! I’m a huge fan of pizza but they also had great options on the menu. Needless to say this will be our new hang out stop!

I just read two negative reviews of this restaurant(along with many positive ones.) i was really surprised at how negative they are. I think they may have been reviewing another restaurant by mistake, because their comments are 100% the opposite of what we have experienced there. For example, the soups of the day are prepared fresh daily and are excellent. I’m trying to get the recipe for the white bean and sausage soup served every Wednesday. The sandwiches and salads are great. We have gone back several times a week since we first ate there in May. I suggest you should try this place for yourself.

This is embarrassing. After dining here several months ago using an Amazon Local voucher, I discovered that I had also purchased a Groupon for this place. That was not one of my better moments. The Groupon was for take-out. I ordered mac and cheese, crab cakes, and the«antipasta»(sic) plate. Just shoot me now. I tasted every bit of food as soon as I got the bag to my car in order to be able to give an accurate evaluation of the«food»(not convinced that’s what it was). Mac & cheese: bordering on criminality. Mac & cheese is supposed to be about creaminess and cheesiness. It is supposed to be baked, often with bread crumbs, to create a textural contrast. First, the pasta water needs to be salted before cooking the pasta; that was not done here, and it creates an insipid foundation for the dish. There needs to be a bechamel to create the creaminess; this version seems to just have grated cheddar on it, but I did find something like a «sauce» in the bottom of the carton. The bread crumbs were crunchy; point! But the only«baking» was some time in either an oven or a microwave to melt the cheese onto the pasta. Crab cakes: like the salmon I had here months ago, this crab tasted old. It didn’t have that bright sweetness for which crab is known. And the chunks of crab were tough! I’m going out on a limb here and guess(no data to support this, just my palate) that these crab cakes were made with canned crab from southeast Asia. The remoulade sauce was fine, and the arugula salad was fresh. «Antipasta»(sic) plate: First, the word is «antipasti,» for«before the pasta.» Why bother? Just low quality ingredients across the board. Why two stars instead of one? Well, service and friendliness were FAR superior on this recent trip. The people were really nice. I just wish they would let me teach them how to cook.

I loved this place until they switched their beef brisket. I think the new meat is on the drier side & shreds like celery in your mouth instead of whole pieces. Their desserts are handmade & the tiramisu is the best in Gresham! However, I recently popped in to get some cookies to go & the owner was NOT happy about me purchasing what was left. Aren’t they there to be purchased?! I was a little embarrassed & was made to feel really bad. I didn’t think 6 cookies would ruin someone’s day. Make more? On a lighter note, their soups & salads are also delicious but I can’t comment much on their sandwiches because none of the others appealed to my taste.

Definatley a cute place. Love the atmosphere and the cloth napkins(although I was a little concerned they don’t smell like bleach). Came for lunch, husband and I split the chipotle chicken pizza and some side salads. Very tasty with lots of toppings, more than enough for 2 people. We will be back! The kid wandering around is a bit odd though. I feel bad for him he should be outside playing not inside watching movies on a laptop.

I went here today with a group of six other friends, and every single one of us loved the food. I had the chicken BBQ panini, which was delicious. I had a hard time deciding between that and Todd’s Mac and Cheese. Then the friend gave us a taste of her Crostini, which was to die for. Two friends had meatball panini, and loved them. I love the cloth napkins(bartenders’ towels), and the china is pretty. I appreciate touches like that. The sidewalk outside was quiet, and the lighting is fine. Service was great, the salad was wonderful, and the hot food was hot. I know I’ll be back again. I wish the music had been a bit quieter; it was pretty rock-y. But that won’t keep me away.

It’s a restaurant café kind of a place. They’ve got lots of paninis, a few salads, and even a mac and cheese on the menu. I went with a salmon salad with their house dressing. The dressing was a fruit vinaigrette of some kind, pleasant. There was a lot of salmon and it seemed fresh. The size was big enough. Just some sort of wow missing. Not sure what. Same with ambience. Felt stark vs. warm with the grey light coming in from the windows. Maybe warm it up more with some nice lights/lighting. The little lights are a nice touch but maybe some small lamps on the table too. I’ll check again and try something else because I do love the fact that there are more restaurants in this area all the time. Just wish we could get something unique. I do LOVE that it’s a locally owned place vs. a big box! That’s why I decided to go with 4 stars anyway. So important in Gresham!

The trend of a perfect rating for this place will continue with me — it was *stellar*. I ordered the brisket panini, and was informed the cook it for six hours every day. Combined with the grilled onions and cheddar with a light drizzle of BBQ sauce and you have perfection. My coworkers had a salmon BLT and a salad and both reported they loved it. Highly recommended!

Bistro 214 didn’t really jump out at us when we first moved to the Gresham area, but Groupon does a remarkable job of drawing attention to places that might otherwise be overlooked. We purchased a dine-in deal for a rainy day, and just a couple of days ago, that rainy day came along– did I mention, I love rainy days? I was only planning to order the hummus plate and keep things lite, whereas Claire was ordering the Thai chicken skewers, and the mac and cheese. I eventually, out of worry that Claire wouldn’t like what she ordered, decided to order the ham Panini, sans pears, because I know my wife will probably not find fruit on her sandwich to be palatable. We also ordered a beer and a glass of cabernet, which were brought to us quickly, immediately followed by the Thai chicken. The chicken was delicious, and while we always have a slight preference to either my homemade vegan peanut sauce(which is slightly curried) and Pad Thai Kitchen, the peanut sauce here was pretty tasty, especially for a place that isn’t built around Thai food. The mac and cheese came, and the flavor it delivered easily surpasses that of Le Bistro Montage(sorry, but their mac is very fluid– not at all like a mac and cheese but more like a pasta alfredo soup) and Bonfire(again, too soupy). The cheese blend was just sharp enough to make our taste buds buzz and hum. The ham sandwich, which I ordered with the salmon chowder, was to die for. Claire, to my dismay after ordering a sandwich she could share with me and overlooking the delicious looking Greek one, was full off of the Thai chicken and mac at this point. She did taste the sandwich, and found the mustard to be a bit more flavor than she bargained for. I, however, love that punch, and now I’m wishing I had tasted the combination with the pear that originally came on the sandwich. Next time! The salmon chowder was PERFECT, and although she doesn’t care for salmon at all, even Claire was impressed. The service is great, the food is wonderful, and the prices are beyond reasonable. With or without a Groupon, we’ll be back. One more step toward not being a food desert for Gresham.

I really enjoy the food at this new place. I am on a quest to try every sandwich on the menu(almost there), and so far have been impressed with every one. But my favorite thing about this place is the owners understanding of value. Each sandwich comes with your choice of soup, salad or kettle chips, included in the already reasonable price. I love it!!! I would recommend this place without hesitation to anyone. Try it out for yourself and see.
