I went to joy teriyaki last week with my girlfriend, as I had never been to joy teriyaki I was skeptical about their food. I took a chance & ordered their chicken teriyaki bowl. I also ordered the fried shrimp they have I forgot the name already, but oh my god when I got home I pigged out! The food was delicious tasty & let me tell you it was delicious. Of course I’ll go back here when I want chicken teriyaki.

This is my lunch go-to in Gresham. The food never fails to be great, and not to mention that their lunch specials are a good bang for your buck. My favorites have been the teriyaki bowl and the chicken katsu curry. The sauce is so good that I’ve bought bottles of both the teriyaki and the spicy sauce. While I like most of the joy teriyaki’s I’ve been to, this one is my favorite because it’s always fast and clean.

Good for the price. Better than average Kung Pao Chicken. Service was quick, staff were polite, and the restaurant was clean. The only con was the cashier; she was new and did not know how to operate the cash register. The cashier charged me $ 12.49 for an $ 8.99 dish. The price was voided upon request with help from her coworker and I wasn’t in a hurry or anything, but I feel like she could have been trained better or given a cheat sheet. This is still a much better choice than panda express. I’ll check it out again next paycheck and might change my review. For now I’m content with average,

Your basic teriyaki joint! This one is part of a franchise that’s around gresham and or troutdale area and is pretty close to the original flagship store. Great service here, clean and basics prepared really well.

Really good teriyaki, and a good variety of other dishes as well. I really like the ambience at this location that has a very artsy, up-cycled look. The staff is friendly, mind you it’s not fine dining but great for takeout or casual family dining. The prices are great and my family of four goes there often.

They have a great product here. Not the very best but better than most of the rest. Good price, good location, friendly staff. Their sauce needs an upgrade but I’m sure it’s a cost thing. Add some ginger and pineapple juice to your sauce I think the extra cost would brew great results.

i wish I would have taken pictures — the amount of food(and surprising quality!) for the price was very impressive. the space was impressive. the service was impressive. the space is just beautiful. maybe a bit plain or sparse to some, but I think it is just wonderful décor. wood and iron throughout, with a fantastic rebar«chandelier» over the main counter. very rustic and modern at the same time. no booths, just tables and chairs — and a lot of them. oh, and a nice window bar seating area(should you yearn to watch the lovely locals of outer se 181st and powell wonder by while you eat.) and so, so very clean. the service was so pleasant and wonderful. the kid and I arrived at 8:30(they close at 9) and asked if we could dine in or if they preferred take-out(im in the industry — I always ask!) the lovely lady at the counter looked at the clock and said feel free to dine in! being our first time to any of their restaurants, she thoughtfully took the time to go over the menu with us. when our order arrived at our gorgeous and very spacious table I was totally blown away at the amount of food we received! I mean, I read the descriptions and all, but GOODNESS! the bento box is where it’s at in my opinion… for $ 11 *American dollars* you get a decent sized bowl of miso soup(bland but nothing I couldn’t doctor up with a touch of wasabi and I ate the whole thing, sooo…), 3 pcs cali roll that the kid said wasn’t the greatest but certainly not the worst by far, 2 decent, but not my favorite, gyoza, 5 tempura that included an amazingly tender, perfectly cooked prawn(!), big calamari(!), huge broccoli, eggplant, and carrot(the breading was way to thick for proper tempura but it was not bad and i’m just being a snob), 2 balls of rice, a generous salad(weak dressing made super tasty with the spicy sauce on the table!) and a way-more-than-enough-portion of very flavorful, and not anywhere near overcooked, teriyaki chicken. did you hear me… $ 11!!! It was enough for two large LARGE meals for me. 4 stars for now. I AM going back. I will take pictures. i value the great service. i am impressed with the frozen/pre-made/pre-whatever food more-so than i am at most places that serve such. i will keep all of you in our little food desert posted on my future findings. until then, check them out for yourself!
