hot roast beef sandwhich with mozzarella was like a dream. Like fireworks into my mouth! Really considering visiting Cosmo’s more often

Truly one of the best Italian sandwich shops anywhere! Highest quality ingredients served by Cosmo and his fantastic staff. This is one of those gems that will keep you coming back time after one. Such a delight to patronize a business that prides itself on using only the highest quality ingredients in a welcoming

being a new York Italian and living in phila, no one comes close to cosmo #1 sandwhich, his mozz is home made daily, great salads, and macaroni and meatballs are great Fair price, overstuffed sandwhiches… and great catering.

There’s little in life better than craving a good sandwich then getting cosmos. I’m convinced cosmos cures hangovers as well. As everyone has said they have the best mozzarella in nj. Everything is as fresh as can be. I used to go strictly #1 but opted for a spicy Italian today. I can’t take how good this sandwich is. It’s a piece of art. I want to cry when I finish it. That’s why I got 2.

AMAZINGAMAZINGAMAZING!!! I used to work in Hackensack and would come all the time. You cannot beat the price and the quality. The salads are delicious as are the sandwiches. I wish I still worked in Bergen County just because places like this do not exist in Central NJ. I think a second location is needed in Middlesex County ASAP.

I love cheese and this awesome deli has plenty! Came here this summer and asked for a pepperoni and cheese sub. I really enjoy deli meats from old school places like Cosmo’s. I originally searched for a Subway near work, but Cosmo’s popped up on Unilocal haha Didn’t read reviews, just went! Local is always better! I came here again today and just ordered a plain provolone sub. I was in a rush for work so I didn’t have time to really think about their other selections. Not sure if they have parking, but I decided to park in the lot behind the shop. Only thing, as others have mentioned, the bread is on the hard side. I should have read some reviews beforehand – I guess I’m a wimp, I’ll have to ask for a bit softer bread next time. haha Also, need to mention that both times, I had to wait in a small line. I think that’s a great sign – people are willing to line up for fresh & delicious food!

There isn’t enough that can be said about this place!!! The food is amazing and nothing else compares. Freshly made mozarella made by the owner who won a blue ribbon in 2009 for it! I always get a number 7 which is the ham, salami, pepperoni, and provolone. They make the sandwiches to order and I always order extra mayo and I LOVE it! I called on a Saturday afternoon figuring they would be closed and one of the owners picked up. I asked what time they closed and she told me they had actually closed for the day but asked what I was looking to get. I told her my order and she said not a problem to come pick it up!!! She said if the door was locked to the ring the bell and let them know that I had ordered! I was shocked that she did this and I rushed right over! I spoke with her for a bit, turns out her daughter used to work at the company I work at! I ended up buying their home made manicotti along with their sauce for dinner and of course it was great!!! I love this place and recommend it to anyone looking for some great Italian subs and phenomenal service! It’s only take out so don’t expect to go there and sit and eat! But there is parking in back.

We call Wednesday’s at work «Wonder Wednesday» Wednesday is the day Cosmo’s makes roast beef and gravy sandwiches for lunch. We get them every time. And every time it’s great. It’s the only thing I’ve tried here but can’t recommend it enough.

Just thoroughly enjoyed the hot roast beef sandwhich with mozzarella. Part of me wanted to order something more standard like an Italian combo or prosciutto mozzarella for comparison purposes(I’m a big fan of Enzos and Clementes), but the idea of homemade roast beef with gravy and melty mozzarella was overpowering. I’ll definitely be going back soon to try our some of the more conventional menu items. So for now, I’ll give four stars but am leaving room for this spot to grow on me.

This place is he best place for sandwiches around. My wife used to tell me to get sandwiches from a place is Saddle Brook as t was the best around… FALSE! Cosmo’s is hand down the best. Reasonably priced and fantastic hot & cold daily specials. The staff is friendly and always upbeat. A line to the door will move quickly. Always leave with some homemade fresh Mozzarella. Party players a of sandwiches for football Sunday’s are inexpensive and always a favorite at my house.

A solid Italian deli with generous portions and good prices. Though there’s nowhere to sit, this small shop attracts a crowd during lunch hour. A perpetual line of construction, fire fighter, business and other area workers file in getting their dose of prosciutto, turkey, tuna and cappicola. Selections aren’t overly extensive, but you can absolutely find your way to a good sandwich with what they offer. Salads and sandwiches alike are well filled and only cost $ 5 – 6. I had a chef salad with ham, salami, fresh mozz instead of provolone and added roasted peppers($ 0.50 extra for the peppers brought me to a bargain $ 6). The mozz is the fresh, milky style I typically find in Hoboken and old Italian shops. The salad was served chopped style so the toppings were well dispersed with something good in every bite. Oil and balsamic dressing with a side piece of Italian bread kept me happy. The shop is a bit sparse but does offer some additional Italian treats like nougat candies and crostini. One of the more interesting things was a jar of effervescence grains(add to your beverage, seal, and POOF! Carbonation!)

This place makes the best sandwiches around! Store made fresh mozzarella, bread that rivals any in Italy, and great customer service. They have a new specials everyday including eggplant and chicken parm and a variety of soups. If you’re a fan of Italian subs, then look no further. Subs are big enough to to split with a friend but I think you’ll regret that decision after you try it. It’s strictly take out since there’s no seating and prices are reasonable. The classic Italian is my favorite but they have a wide selection of options. Enjoy.

Let me describe the experience of my «Number 2» sandwich. The experience starts with unwrapping the unassuming brown butcher paper to find a sandwich, not too big or small, encased in parchment. Gently peeling the parchment wafts the magic scent of what’s to come toward your face in the most tempting fashion. You get salty, sour, meaty, and yeasty all in a ribbon of wonder gently traveling toward your nostrils to foreshadow the experience to come. You grab the sandwich and are pleased by the weight. The crust on the bread is rough and knobby under your fingers but has a reassuring springiness. You inspect the torpedo of flavor visually. Deep red sun dried tomatoes, fresh mozzarella that is whiter than the purest bride’s gown, and the prosciutto… There must be almost an inch of prosciutto! Your lizard brain kicks in and you have no power over your arms. You are no longer in control of your body. The cylinder of sustenance travels toward your sub-hole and there is nothing you can do except open up. Your lizard brain prompts you to unhinge your jaw like a boa constrictor and you try. By Jove you try! … The rough crust helps your top teeth lock into position and you swing the bottom forward until your bottom teeth find a crevice and do the same. You start to bite down and immediately feel a multitude of sensations. The crackle of the crust! The sponge of the crumb! It compresses in a moment of pure joy and the whole piece falls into your mouth as tears of joy stream down your face! And then the tastes! The balsamic sweet and sour! The rich, hearty, sinewy mozzarella! The salty tender prosciutto! The umami of the sun dried tomato!!! The flavors meld and coat your mouth and teeth like colors in a Jackson Pollock painting! Yes! YES! I MUSTHAVEMORE! You bite AGAIN!!! ANDAGAIN!!! OVERANDOVER, ANNIHILATINGTHETWOHALVES! WHATISTHISSORCERY!!! And then… There is none. And your heart drops. This can’t be real. There’s got to be more. You need to be alone. You’re angry at Cosmo for making such a device of torture and at yourself for not ordering two. You consider going back and getting another, but you’re already full. Does it matter? It won’t make your long lost love you again and magically fill your bank account, but this might just be better. Maybe you should wait until tomorrow. Oh, but the emptiness of waiting… And the sadness. You can’t take the heaviness of the situation. There’s no more sandwich! The intense depression makes you consider calling your shrink for an emergency session. You pop a Prozac and sit. Finally you try to accept the reality. You tell yourself it’s just a sandwich. Just some meat and cheese and toppings between bread. Anyone could do it, you think. You think. But you know better.

I’ve been wanting to come here for a while now, but I never get here on time. Worth the wait! Enza’s Special is an insult to be called a sandwich or a hero — but should be categorized as a gift from above. Yums!

Yummy! No matter what you order, you can not go wrong. I make sure to add their fresh mozzarella to everything and of course sample while I’m waiting, lol! Cosmo’s roast beef is home made(usually rare) and is delicious on their semolina bread with mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. The spicy Italian is another favorite as well as the meatball or chicken Parma. The platters are great for parties. The line is out the door at lunchtime, but it does move quickly. If you are in a rush, call in your order first thing in the morning and it will be ready to go at the time you want it. We have been enjoying Cosmo’s food for over 10 years, it is consistent and does not disappoint. Enjoy!

Best bang for the buck. The sandwiches aren’t anything«special» but you get a ton of meat, the mozz is fresh, and their red peppers are great. I love their crunchy bread too. I couldn’t believe how cheap their sandwiches were considering how big they are. Staff is efficient and friendly too so that’s a plus and makes me want to go back. I like the old school feel of their menus on the wall too.
