Its name recalls the original Paris bistro. Yet it is very much a NJ tradition of a family-owned business offering great value, quality, and service. The pizza, steak, and other Italian dishes are wonderful. The carafes of wine are a good value. The atmosphere of dark booths are part of their unique tradition and charm. One of my waitresses has worked there for 35 years, and I spoke with several patrons who have been happily coming to Lido’s for many years.

Best thin crust pizza in NJ! Friendly service with the charm of the 50’s

After a couple of people telling me this is the best thin crust pizza, they neglected to mention it’s about the oiliest, also. Pizza was served without plates and getting a water refill was a chore. Eggplant parm was tasty, but again, very oily. I can’t imagine going back. While it could have been worse, it’s not worth the trip.

If you’re going for the sliced steak and pizza. This is it. This place is as old as New Jersey but has a comfortably, home-like feel when you sit down. The service is friendly but typical New Jersey meaning, there’s sometimes a slight attitude… but it’s never personal– They’ve got character! They serve beer and wine. I’ve been coming here since I could eat solid food and my family and I always get the pizza and sliced steak. The crispy pizza and buttery bread, with their thinly sliced steak just melts in your mouth!!!

Food is delicious. The people who work there are rude and completely unwelcoming. I am appalled that they allow such horrible service to greet customers. I am currently on leave from the US Navy to see my family. We thought it would be a great idea to come to an old time favorite restaurant before I go back to my duty station. We walk in to Lido’s with our party of 6 very excited to indulge in a great dinner. To our dismay, we stand in the entrance for about 5 minutes before being approached by a very grouchy hostess. She told us to «relax honey & get comfortable» implying that would be waiting for a while… Without even giving us an estimated amount. I’m very saddened that this woman is allowed to work here with this attitude and her all around demeanor. I’ve heard that this woman is the owner’s wife but she unfortunately does not leave a good taste in our mouths, unlike the beloved food.

This place is old school, the service is a bit slow and the staff doesn’t move too quickly, but what’s the rush? Relax. Enjoy. The food is good. Pizza is thin crust style and better as a shared appetizer between a group of people, with an entrée as your meal. Can’t go wrong with the chicken parm!

I will never buy pizza from this place ever again. The taste was subpar… can’t hold a candle to a NYC pizzeria. And the woman near the entrance was very rude and she thought was cute. I would’ve forgotten about the rudeness if the pizza was average or above but it wasn’t. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time and money.

This review is based on two things: the pizza and the atmosphere. Both are legit. The pizza is classic thin crust with good ingredients. The pepperoni has a kick, it’s greasy and spicy and delicious. The pizza is that special kind of thin crust that cracks when you fold it and crunches when you the crust. If that’s your thing, this is your place. Inside, it’s dark. I doubt the place has been updated much since it opened in the late 50s. That’s exactly what I want in a place like this. It’s like a time capsule. It’s the perfect antidote to sterile, generic corporate restaurants where every detail has been focus grouped to exhaustion. Our service was nice, accommodating and friendly. It’s a place worth returning to.

I have to admit, when I pulled up to this place, I thought my friend was kidding. It literally is a hole in the wall and not what you would expect but GO in and you will be surprise. It is an old school Italian joint, from the aged décor to the comfortable waitresses, you really feel like you are at your grandmother’s house in the 60s or 70s. Not that I was alive but this just looks like my mothers home videos. The thin crust pizza is NO joke. It is amazing… beyond amazing. I cannot wait to go back and take my Italian mother. She is going to be blown away. So we started with a large thin crust to share as an appetizer. Yes, you read that right and no, we are not fat asses. But the pizza is so thin, it does not fill you and in fact you are still hungry! If you judge a book by its cover, you will not be impressed but give it a chance, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

On the outside, it is a hole in the wall that if you drive by after 5pm has a dim sign that says open and jail windows. But if you are driving by on a Saturday and you happen to notice the crowd outside waiting to be seated, be aware Lido’s is the real deal. Once you walk in, the first thing you will notice is the dim surrounding. They have been an institution for awhile. A very local crowd. The menu also seems like it hasn’t changed in a very long time but in a good way. Steak, pasta, pizza, wine, beer, and mozzarella sticks. Checks every thing on my list along with very good prices. No entrée is over $ 20 and a carafe of wine that can successfully inebriate two is under $ 20. And the wine is decent. Five stars! If you are in the mood for a throwback in Bergen County and wanna eat like a local did 50 years ago, 20 years ago, and probably yesterday, stop by! Two thumbs up!

Very local feel to the place. If you come on a saturday evening expect a slight wait. Doesnt look like much from the outside but inside its some good, homey, tasty food. I got the Double sandwich steak. It was amazing. Thinly sliced steak with buttery breas under it with fries on the side . A karafe of wine is like 10 $. This is not for the uppity, bouijy snoojy. Ita decent food in a diner setting at affordable prices

Humongous cheap pizza slices right cheer. That pretty much sums it up. Dingy, take out joint. Seemed a bit of a throw back to 50’s and still has half century old gum under the tables, lol. Bathrooms, hmm well let’s just say to bring antibacterial. If it’s a slice you want, especially if your heart’s desire is a thin crust then you’ll find it here. Huge thin crust slices and big ass pizzas await you. Less than average prices for a massive quantity and the pizza’s pretty decent. Not exceptional and of course it’s difficult to separate the surroundings from the product that’s why I suggest taking home. Cash Only, boo! Not sure about anything else on the menu because as I said it’s not really a dining destination.

Lido’s is a true Bergen County institution. I have been going to Lido’s my entire life, and my mother has loved it since she first discovered it in the 70s. Disclaimer, you will probably be put off by the décor, but it really just adds to this place’s overall charm. It is also CASHONLY and they do not accommodate for separate checks at one table, but there is an ATM right across the street. The parking is also across the street in the bank lot. Let me move on to the food. Firstly, you must try the house salad with their homemade vinaigrette! I’m not a huge salad fan, but this is one that I absolutely love. So good, in fact, that I soak up the remaining dressing with the Italian bread. Now, the pizza is easily, hands down, the best I’ve ever had. The super thin crust is almost cracker-like, and has a great taste. Also, there is just enough tomato sauce and cheese so as to not overwhelm the thinness of the crust. The flavor is unlike any other pizza I’ve tried. Once you have a slice, you’ll see what I mean. Also, the sliced steak is amazing. It’s buttery and sliced very thin, served on slices of toast. This is my mother’s favorite item on the menu and she gets it almost every time we go, which is relatively often. I always recommend Lido’s to anyone looking for a good pie in the area. You won’t be disappointed!

I give this place 2 ½ stars but decided to round up. I came here last night and I’ll start off by saying their thin crust pizza really is phenomenal. Their sliced steak open faced sandwich was also great but that’s because the bread is soaked in butter and who doesn’t love butter? I think it’s a garlic butter too. Either way, it was delicious but probably not worth the clogged arteries that come along with it. This place is very divey and cheap. Pretty sure nothing has changed since they opened in 1956. They still had Christmas decorations up. I was warned not to go in the bathroom because it’s disgusting. I also considered getting some manhattan clam chowder soup but was told not to stray too far away from the pizza or sliced steak on the menu because everything else was sketchy. I’d still come back but just for take out and get only pizza. It was good but seems like it’s the only appealing thing on their menu.
