Oh my good Jersey God ! God bless this place. lawddddd. I love pork. I love chicken. I love a stellar bbq sauce. I love poo poo platters of all the above. And this place is everything! You get what you pay for… Portions are awesome, and the bbq is spot on! I love their Mac and cheese too… Their bbq sauce is «fingerlickin’ good». All I was missing was a bib. I eat enough for a small family and 6 times my bodyweight each and every time i come here. Love this place. Oh and service is good too! Lol great fun staff. I’m literally salivating writing this review, cubby’s you are my guilty pleasure.

Great BBQ — loved it! Odd set up to wait outside, order from counter and find a table yourself and wait to pickup order from counter to bring back to table. Prices are a little high — although ordered a little too much, the cost was $ 88 for 2 adults and 1 child(and that is without tip and no alcohol). With that said, I would definitely return. The food was really great and well worth it.

Good spot for lunch, been in business a long time. Prices are a little high at first, then you realize they are a delicious well oiled machine and prices becomes less of an issue, because the BBQ is sooo goooooood! Plus** friendly staff!

Used to come here often in the 80’s &90’s. Loved the sliced steak sandwich on a garlic roll. But those days are over! Steak was flavorless, so was garlic roll. Prices are ridiculously high. Absolutely not what it used to be. Very disappointed. But the owner thinks he’s a celebrity now so he doesn’t care what customers think. Will never return!!! Your reply speaks for itself. You have become a legend in your own mind. And a nasty person to boot. The food sucked and that’s it in a nutshell. I have been frequenting restaurants in & out of this area for years so I wouldn’t say I live in a bubble. I have a right to speak my mind & my opinion, that’s what Unilocal is for, so save your bullying for someone you can intimidate. It’s certainly not me. This isn’t North Korea. Also, get some spelling lessons, your response was unprofessional.

The BBQ is excellent. I have been coming here for years. The portions are large and the sauce is very nice. I usually go for the chicken platter, which is always perfectly cooked. I sometimes have the burger, which is also excellent. The place is very well managed with some of the same guys still there who I saw 20 years ago. They are a good group. Downside: It is a bit overpriced. Last night I had the chicken dinner which comes with a choice of a side(fries, sweet potato fried, mash potato, mash sweet potato, plantains, etc.) The total was over $ 18. Despite how good it is, this is VERY high for a place of this type. If it were not for the prices I will be here a few times a week.

I knocked off one star for two very small reasons-1, I am not in love with the location(It’s really far south in Hackensack) and 2, there are no paper towels in the bathrooms, just blow dryers. If I’m eating BBQ, I want to be able to wash my hands and face afterwards and that is just not possible if there are no paper towels in the bathrooms. HOWEVER-the food here is amazing. My boyfriend and I come in here every couple of months and we both get the ribs-he gets a full rack and I get a half. It is so much food and these ribs are truly the fall off the bone ribs that the South talks about. I have yet to have a rack of ribs that compares to these. All racks of ribs come with complimentary garlic bread(again, generous portions) and a side. I usually get the mac and cheese but they have quite a few sides to choose from that are all very good. I’ve also gotten lunch to go from here before-the pulled pork or pulled chicken sandwiches come on top of the garlic bread I mentioned earlier! OMGYUM! This is such a great BBQ staple-if you’re from the South or just appreciate some straight up, good ol’ fashioned BBQ, this is THE place to go.

Great food! Juicy burgers cooked to order. Great ribs and amazing steaks. It is a little expensive though. Especially since you order at a counter and have to get up to get your food.

Other then that the baked potato without butter or cream was buttier then a biscuit… How who knows who cares just a place with good BBQ I SHALL be back! I cant wait. Am a bread fanatic so did i mention the garlic bread yummm.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade and it’s never disappointed me! I’ve gone to other BBQ joints, and seriously, no other place compares. Super tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs with the best BBQ sauce around. Sweet with the perfect amount of smoky. Their garlic bread and sides are delicious too! Free refills on drinks and super friendly workers. Worth every trip.

My favorite bbq! Just as good as the bbq that I had while living in Texas. Order the rack of ribs. The pulled pork sandwiches on garlic bread are so satisfying. Love the crispy fries. And I always order the Mac n Cheese. It comes sizzling hot.

Huge portions of OKBBQ. Also they have stewart’s black cherry in their fountain soda selection and craft beer because it’s a goooood thing. Nice guy who took my order. (Half a) BBQ pork sandwich: 2.9: OK, this was without onions. The sauce was watery and the pork was a little chewy. (Half a) BBQ beef sandwich: 3.4: Much better, the sauce while generic-ish was a lot better. The beef was also a lot better. Plantains: I happened to order these on a whim and they were oddly better than the bbq. Nicely made and good portion. 3.5

Simply put, you will not get better bbq ribs, anywhere within a 500 mile radius. You can literally eat them with a spoon. Best part is the sauce — ’tis perfect. Not too sweet not too spicy. Perfection. And an unobstructed view of the Bergen County jail doesn’t hurt, either.

Best ribs around! They come right off the bone. Not the nicest place but most of the food is very good.

Been coming here for probably the last ten years. Even though it’s been forever since we’ve lived on the East Coast, we always find time to come by this great establishment for some great cooking. The owner and staff always greet us with a warm welcome and the minute we hear that, we know we are home. Great food all around. The bbq and the Texas Weiners are a hit with us. We like them«all the way» and get them spicy. The Cajun fries are also awesome. Will come back everytime we are in Jersey!

Being in my rotation of lunch spots, you could say I frequent here often. I like that they are consistent with flavor. When I find something that works, I stick with it! My usual is their half portion BBQ pulled pork on garlic bread, which comes with coleslaw, and a larger-than-normal bottle of water, all for $ 10.70. Don’t want it on garlic bread? No problem! They offer other choices. Too much sauce? No problem! Just ask for light sauce. As a customer, being able to customize your order is a bonus. I’ve also tried their waffle fries, curly fries, and Cajun fries. Not all at once of course. But I’m happy to report, no soggy fries here! Just a word of caution, napkin up, it may get messy…

Ordered their half portion BBQ ribs, baked potato, garlic bread and salad. My family had BBQ half a chicken with sweet potato. Ribs sweet and tangy falling off the bone! Chicken just as good! Large portion baked potato beware!:-) Salad enough for two! Downside I would say the garlic bread but that too was pretty tasty buttery and garlicky !!! Will definitely visit again!!! Yum!

If you like ribs where the meat literally falls off the bone, this is your place. It’s so tender and so easy to eat, it’s perfect BBQ. Sides are great too. Always have an order of their big portion of Mac and cheese and their chili cheese fries. The only con is it’s a bit expensive, but when you’re the best BBQ in town, I guess you can charge whatever you want. It’s a must go to!
