Good happy hour deals and on Sunday’s too! Cocktails were sweet and not strong so the wine was a better choice for me. Their complimentary onion bread and butter was good — warm and fluffy with whipped butter. Crab artichoke dip — good, not salty and the bread it comes with is good. Parmesan truffle fries — good, but could’ve used a lot more truffle. Chocolate molten cake a la mode — really good! Chocolate was super melty. Good service too!

We went here a few months back, this is a place I think most people hold in high regard because of it’s pricey menu and location. But I personally didn’t see the big deal. My family and I ordered a few items for the table, Grilled Asparagus, Creamed Spinach, Bacon & Onion Macaroni & Cheese, all just OK, nothing worth the actual cost. For our Entrees, I ordered the Chilean Seabass, my mother Shrimp Scampi, my sister and uncle orders the Center Cut Filet Mignon and Honey-Chili Glazed Salmon. Lots of food, my fish was excellent, but something felt missing. I really felt that for all the food we had. Now the service, was impeccable, the staff was always attentive and interactive. I don’t really care for meat too much, but I think my sisters steak was the best of what we ordered. We closed the night out with the Hot-Chocolate cake and Soufflé’. I went to heaven and came back after taking bites of that Hot Chocolate cake. Overall…I rather go to another place.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. They greeted my boyfriend with a Happy Birthday as soon as I told them my name which was nice. The host area seemed rather frantic though and it took them a few minutes to gather themselves to seat us for some reason even though we had reservations. Our waiter was attentive for the most part and helpful with suggestions. We shared the Tuna Tower which is probably my favorite part of the entire meal. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Prime Ribeye Steak, his done medium rare and mine medium. They were both cooked exceptionally well. Their wine selection was also pleasant. My only complaint is when we first ordered our meals, the waiter let us know that since it was my boyfriend’s birthday, we would receive a complimentary dessert but it does take a while to have the dessert ready so we should order in advance, which we did as soon as he took our initial order. We ended up waiting 30 minutes for our dessert anyway… At the very end we received a lovely custom birthday card with our picture on it.

Came here due because houstons wait was too long. I was in love with the atmosphere. It’s a very cozy place… Not small but comfortable and very open. We both ordered steak and were very disappointed with the meal. The meat was very heavily seasoned so much so we sent it back. For some reason it just seemed something was missing. We tried the restaurant twice and vowed to not return. Unfortunately this place is a no go

One of the best Steak Houses in the area. Beautiful ambiance, decoration, food is out of this world. If you are not into steak there is also other options. Delicious gourmet appetizers, ask for the weekly specials which are off the Menu. You truly feel like Royalty in this place. Must go there for a special occasion.

I don’t know why only 3 ½ stars. I think Morton’s is amazing. Impeccable service. Nice, good quality cuts of meat. Steaks always cooked to perfection. The only thing I don’t like is their creamed spinach(I don’t like the nutmeg). I’m even considering having my small wedding dinner here.

What a great experience! Yes you are paying a high price but you are getting amazing quality food and service. The décor mostly features low light and black and gray colors. The booth tables slid out so it was easier to scoot in, and I like having a big booth in a u-shape over two benches so I can get close to my man and it feels very isolated and private. There were also tables, but you will luck out if you have a nice comfy booth. We went for the porterhouse for two which is a lot of meat, but both the strip steak and filet mignon were so tender and juicy. It came pre-sliced so it was great to take a piece from each side as I went along. It comes with au jus or you can use the natural steak juices to soak in. For sides, the parmeasan and truffle matchstick fries tasted so good and it was so easy go for a handful of them at a time. We opted to do broccoli as a second side for a little healthier fare but was wondering how broccoli can be made to justify the price. But at first bite it was so soft and buttery and had the great parmeasan flavor on top. Every bite of this meal was so tasty that if it comes up to do on a special occasion, it’s worth it! The service was also amazing and attentive. I never had to ask for a refill, it was always quickly taken care of. The waitress told us if we wanted dessert to order before we ate since it takes 30 minutes or so to prepare fresh. The thing was, with the steak and two sides, that’s a lot of food, so we opted to skip dessert this time. I bet they make great desserts too. Oh well, for next time!

My husband and I made reservations for this past Sunday. We frequented Morton’s in Hackensack when we were looking to eat Surf and Turf. Upon arrival, we we seated and greeted by our waiter. I thought we were off to a great meal. Surf and Turf was not on the menu and when we asked the waiter, he told us about a special that included salad, one side, Surf and Turf as well as dessert. Our waiter must have been new because he kept leaving to ask the manager questions. Also he also was not listening to our responses. For example my husband asked for an iceberg salad with the same dressing as my spinach salad and his response was ok you want the same salad? I am usually patient but between leaving to ask questions and not getting our order correct, it became frustrating. The manager brought over our bottle of wine and it was the correct year so we were happy about that part. The food arrived and the meat was tender and the tail was delicious. The baked potato was not edible. It was almost like it was left over from another day. The broccoli arrived with so much pepper on it, was so overdone, it seemed like a left over as well. The waiter took our plates, did not ask why we didn’t touch the sides. When it came time to order dessert, we declined. The waiter reminded us that it was part of the special but since the sides were so bad, we didn’t feel like taking home a dessert that was not edible as well. Our bill was over 30O for the two of us and not worth it. As we left the restaurant, the hostess and manager did not say a thing. Needless to say, with food that tastes old and left over, an inexperienced waiter and management that is not friendly, we will not be returning to Morton’s in Hackensack.

First time dining here. I had the short ribs which were good and a side of brussels sprouts which were yummy. My husband had the honey glazed salmon which he enjoyed; I had a bite and it was yummy. For dessert we shared the apple crisp that was so delicious. The service was great too. We’d definitely return to dine again.

We came here after going to the zoo. Forget that they didn’t have the wine we tried to order. Forget that they charged us for it anyway. I wouldn’t write a review about that. The food is gross. Go to McDonald’s bring a flask and you can invent this place in your mind. It’s disgusting

I took a friend here for his birthday and we pigged out. I had the 48 oz. porterhouse for two Oscar style(topped with bernaise sauce, asparagus, and crabmeat), bacon wrapped scallops, and grilled shrimp. It was all awesome. Service was on point and had no issue icing down the special sodas we had bought.

Came here on Aug 13 for national filet mignon day. I was there for 2 reasons and 2 reason only… Filet sliders and martinis. They offered the sliders for $ 1 a piece which was an unbelievable price. Although the first one i had was tasty and tender the 2nd and 3rd were poorly undercooked, almost raw. I understand they were probably selling hundreds of them on that day but would have been nice to keep a little standard and qq. The martini was perfectly made, so much that i had another. +1 to the bartender he was busy but attentive. The atmosphere defiantly needs some sprucing as it is outdated. I am happy i came for this but wouldn’t come back just for the sliders or the other bar food.

Morton’s fired on all cylinder’s on our visit last night. The night got off to a slow start, as I ordered a South African bottle, waitress disappeared for a spell, came back to tell us the cellar was out of that particular bottle. My opinion is that a restaurant at Morton’s price point, striving to provide a classy dining experience, should know and update the inventory of the wine cellar daily, plus share it with the servers or edit the wine menu to reflect current availability of stock. However, she told us that the manager had recommended a Napa Valley substitute. After our consent, the manager personally brought over the bottle, and he made a good choice, the wine was excellent. Bread was an airy and light onion roll, large enough to last the entire meal. Our waitress was personable and efficient, answering all questions and providing suggestions. The other staff kept the water glasses full and cleared dishes at the proper time. To start the meal, we had 2 super fresh cold seafood plates, complete with lobster, shrimp, oysters and lump crab meat. A special appetizer of heirloom tomatoes and burrata cheese was both large and tasty. Now let’s get literally to the meat and potatoes of this review. My lady ordered the 6 ounce filet, she ordered it well done, and the waitress was wise to suggest that the cut be served butterfly style, which allowed the meat to cook to the desired doneness evenly, as her steak was perfect. I ordered the 12 ounce, «Oscar style», crab meat, asparagus and béarnaise, I prefer mine medium rare and the chef did not disappoint, as it too, was perfect. Large sides of creamed spinach and Lyonnaise potatoes paired well with the steaks. A nice evening ended with us splitting the ice cream sundae with a lave type cake underneath, the serving was huge, more than enough for two people. Morton’s may be higher priced than other options nearby but worth it for the quality of food and service.

The Story: This is the 2nd time I’ve visited this establishment — my brother made reservations for my birthday Friday night and when we showed up they had custom printed menu’s with my name on it! They also took a photo of me and my brother and mounted on a Morton’s postcard. Food: We ordered the chilled platter of seafood — everything was fresh, the crabcake(so far the BEST crabcake I’ve had), the porter house — which melted in my mouth, bone in ribeye — so fatty(in a good way). I actually regretted not getting the soufflé =( Price: This place is expensive. But definitely worth it. Décor: The room is kinda dimmed and I’m kinda blind so I couldn’t see very well. I think their booths are kinda annoying as I have to either move the table out or slide out(very hard when I’m wearing a nice dress) but we were sat by the kitchen which is always a nice view to have while dining. Service: Our server is excellent. The problem I have with expensive places is usually the waiter doesn’t take us seriously(assuming we won’t order a lot, tips bad, etc) No complains there. The staff made my birthday dinner very special. Parking & Finding the Place: This place is located in the River Side Square Mall — they have valet parking but there is more than enough parking spots in this mall to park the call yourself.

I am often described as a frugal girl. I like to seek out deals and not overspend. That being said: Morton’s is a rather expensive steakhouse. So this is not a place I would usually find myself. However, I received two $ 50 gift certificates to Morton’s over the course of a couple years, and a snafu at the local movie theater led me to a consolatory dinner with my friend. We arrived at 7:30pm on a Thursday. The restaurant was empty, only a few tables were filled. We were led to our booth and the hostess pulled the table out so we could snuggle in the back of the booth. The waitress came over and welcomed me by name(I had made a last minute reservation, not knowing how busy the restaurant would be, so I think that’s how they knew my name). She asked if we were celebrating anything and I said no, just had a few gift cards to use. She explained the menu and highlighted her favorite parts. She was a little hard to understand at times, as she had a pretty thick accent, but she pointed to whatever she was speaking about so even though I couldn’t understand some of the praise, I knew it was positive. I opted not to drink this meal and instead focused on the food. We did opt for the fancy bottled still water instead of tap($ 9.75 and it’s only one bottle, not bottomless like most ‘charge you for water’ places I’ve been to before.) The bread and butter you get is heavenly and enormous. It’s a large loaf with onion crunchies on top and the butter is whipped and salty and light. Although I tried not to fill up on bread because of the meal I was planning on having, I wound up housing half the loaf, anyway. The side dishes are large enough to share, as the menu boasts. My friend and I opted to split the sour cream mashed potatoes($ 13). They were good, a smaller portion than I was expecting, to be honest. My friend got the 12oz filet mignon($ 53) and I got the 8oz($ 48), both in medium. When the steaks came out, my friend asked for steak sauce and they had two options: A1 or Heinz 57. He went for the A1. I didn’t want any sauce, but the waitress brought over a sauce most people like with their filet, for me to try. She described it as «butter and egg sauce.» I put a little on my plate and tried it with my steak, but it also had horseradish or something spicy and I really just wanted to taste the meat. I thanked her but didn’t use the sauce. The steaks were PERFECT. So good, so juicy, so tasty. They were cooked perfectly. When I order a 50 dollar steak, I want it to be perfect. I am pleased to say it was. I must admit, I was a little afraid when the meal came out that there wouldn’t be enough food. I was hungry and everything looked small. At the end, however, I was so full and sated and it was perfect. The only things keeping this from a 5 star is the price, the server’s thick accent that I couldn’t really understand(she was a great server, but if you’re going to go over the menu in detail, it’s hard to have a server with an accent), and the non-bottomless bottle of still water. This is definitely a date restaurant, anniversary spot. So much so that they ask you if you’re celebrating anything when you arrive. Be prepared to empty your wallet, unless you have gift cards like I did. :)

I can not possibly find all the wonderful words to describe the awesome experience, I enjoyed at Mortons Hackensack location! I want to send a special thanks to Diane, who went above, and beyond to make my dining experience a special treat! I also want to «Thank» Conor for suggesting an amazingly great added bonus to my meal. The Cajun Ribeye with the jumbo lump crab, & asparagus was heavenly! The food was beyond delicious! I enjoyed a food orgasm, with my entire meal! I also want to thank Jacqueline, and the Chefs. You can not find a better dining experience in NJ. I can not help but to enjoy a weekly meal at this location!

I don’t know what I could possibly say about Morton’s that hasn’t already been said. This place is five star dining all around. My boyfriend and I came in to celebrate my 30th birthday, even though it was two days after the fact. Upon arriving we were immediately seated, and given a special birthday menu to keep. Our server, Connor, was nothing short of amazing. He was engaging attentive, and just overall excellent. As it was our first time dining there, he gave us a brief history of the restaurant and a rundown of their menu. Given that I’m a steak lover, I already knew what I was having. The loaf of bread that comes out is equally huge and great. It’s fluffy and warm and everything bread should be. We did choose the jumbo shrimp Alexander as an appetizer and we both loved it. It was so flavorful and the shrimp were very succulent. I also had the lobster bisque and really enjoyed it. It was very creamy and quite delicious. Add in the 2 large pieces of lobster and I was having a good night. We split the garlic mashed potatoes and I had the side of broccoli. I ordered the 6oz. filet mignon«Oscar style» medium rare, and my boyfriend had a steak whose name I can’t remember. It was butterfly’d and he really liked it. I don’t think I even have the words to describe my steak. It was perfect from start to finish. Red in the center, as it should be, and seared perfectly on the outside. It was everything I hoped it would be. And if that wasn’t enough, since we were there to celebrate my birthday, I enjoyed a complimentary dessert. I chose the apple crisp which had caramelized apples, golden raisins, a cobbler-like topping and a large scoop of ice cream on top. It was to die for! I don’t know when I’ll get back to Morton’s because it is so pricey(everything is a la carte) but I think it’s worth the splurge for special occasions in my opinion. Not only are you dining on expertly prepared food, but the ambiance and service is top notch.

Morton’s… Some Morton’s locations are better than others. I’ve eaten at countless Morton’s restaurants while on business trips entertaining customers. The Mortons at Riverside Mall is MY local Mortons, and it’s where I go when I want a perfectly cooked filet mignon with a service staff that really(yes really) cares. I have eaten at this location at least 100 times for both personal and business dinners. I only order steak at steakhouses, not in any other type of restaurant. I cook an outstanding steak at home and my rule is: ‘If I can cook it better, why eat out?’ Morton’s delivers. My filet mignon cut has always been of outstanding quality and cooked perfectly(and if by chance it is not what you were expecting they will be quick to remedy the situation with a new steak). I have never heard a complaint about food from anyone in my dinner party when eating here. Once I was having dinner here with my mother when she noticed her spoon was dirty(just a few water spots nothing crazy). My mother is not one to complain about anything but she mentioned it to me, so I made mention of it to the maître d. I figured he would replace the spoon and maybe give me a discount at the end of the meal. Fast-forward to the end of the meal — I will not mention on Unilocal exactly what he did to compensate, but trust me it was WAY above my expectations. Outstanding service with a staff that cares, like I said. A reviewer below me used the word«fine» to describe the food, the service, and the atmosphere. ‘Fine’ is not a word that should be used to describe this place. Pay them a visit and let your taste buds be the judge. I count myself blessed to have this Morton’s location so local to my home. Sure, It is not Peter Luger’s, but I also do not need to drive to Brooklyn to eat dinner. Apples to oranges. There are other options in the area, but Morton’s is my favorite.
