Had to find food for my three teenagers(and not at resort prices). Jumped in car and zipped down from Turtle Bay. Owner was cheerful and very helpful. Got two orders of massive fish tacos customized with fries and salad, an amazing Big Pig pulled pork sandwich, and a fresh Ahi Poke bowl with avocado on top and rice&salad. Plus five drinks — and all for under $ 50!!! So much food no one could finish the portions. Highly recommended!

We found this cute little place behind the North Shore taco truck and we just had a feeling for it. The Big Surf burger was the bomb .com and the kids got the special burger and pulled pork sandwich. We were full but had to order the fish taco just cause we were hungry for good fish. Awesome place, the best food in Hawaii so far, we still have a few more days but we will be reporting!

This place is a hidden oasis in Hawaii’s North Shore Shark’s Cove. We were tired of restaurant food and came across this gem and LOVED it! The fish tacos are right out of Baja CA and exactly what we needed to nurture our souls! Worth the trip and the owner is a wonderful host.

Checked out this truck while visiting the north shore with my family. This one is hiding in a cute lil«courtyard» set up in the lot behind the other trucks. Coming from the bay(San Francisco, Oakland) this food truck is hella crackin. Not only was the owner hella nice, he respected my gluten free diet, AND gave us a free sample of sashimi after we finished our food.(all was hella good, I got the ahi tacos) Also, the prices were reasonable compared to the other trucks, which also offered ahi tacos, but looked much more basic comparatively. Support this man’s business! Mahalo

Super pleased with the supper we had tonight. Phenomenal food, amazing service. The gentleman talked to my husband and I about everything we had, covered any questions. He went above and beyond what most other people would do. Couldn’t have had a better experience

Customer service was on point but food left something to be desired. I got the pulled pork special which was a sandwich and it was good… Not great… The«tropical slaw» had 2 pieces of pineapple in it the size of my pinky nail and some cabbage and cut up bell peppers. Not too tropical. Mixed green salad was fresh and had an enjoyable dressing. The firecracker shrimp was delicious. Ryan got the sweet little piggy plate or something like that. Basically pulled pork with pineapple on top of it with salad. It was okay. It wasn’t bad… Like I said… There’s room for improvement. We’ll definitely come back and try it again next time we’re here.

Live in the North Shore and have tried almost every truck there is out here. By far my favorite truck not only in the Shark’s Cove Food Truck park, but all of the North Shore. Three favorites, or things I(or my wife have tried)… Firecracker shrimp(not spicy), The Big Pig(pineapple, pulled pork that’s juicy, slaw, crispy mmmmmmmm onions and and nice roll to top it off) and last but not least… The Big Surf burger, and it’s probably my favorite. This guy knows how to cook. There is quite a variety of different menu options that would cover the adventurous all the way to the picky… add in very friendly service and he definitely gets 5 stars in my book.

One of the newest additions to Sharks come and it is pretty good. The food seem like a little bit of a mishmash of Island American and mainland American comfort foods. It general works. I was eating at another truck but my wife got a burger and fries from there that I ended up finishing for her. The fries were really good and the burger was pretty good as well. It was cooked almost perfectly and had a interesting flavorful assortment of toppings that was impressive. Where the burger(and thus their stars) fell a little short for me was the fore mentioned patty. While the cooking of the patty was perfect the seasoning needed a little help. It simply needed a little more salt and pepper to really bring out the flavor of the meat. Lots of potential here. I look forward to giving it an update review in the future.

The firecracker shrimp is super tasty! I got it as a taco with slaw called the Gregory and it comes with three, which is an awesome portion that you can share. I also came back another day and they were serving fresh ahi tuna and gave me several choices on how I wanted it prepared. Since the shrimp tacos were so awesome I asked for tacos again and they did not disappoint!

Aloha, this is a great spot. Outstanding food better people. They say there’s a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow… we found a pot of gold at over the rainbow. They say something about the forest and the trees, anyway definitely don’t miss Johnathan’s meat, fish and greens. Looking forward to chicken and mushrooms hitting the menu. Mahalo :)

Picked up 3 orders of fish tacos. Service was great and they came out fast. The quality was good but on all 3 orders there was minimal amount of fish and the tacos were pretty bland. I had the fish tacos at the truck just in front of this truck, can’t remember the name, two days ago and I thought they were a little better than these.

All the food I had today was amazing and worth the made to order wait! Full of flavor and a pretty good portion. And I love the owners story of how he started up his food truck. Gave me hope for a few years! Will be back when we visit next year!!!

The brunette girl taking orders was rude, short yes/no answers, no eye contact while communicating with us & clearly not happy to be dealing with Haoles. Apparently her time was being wasted by dealing with our unreasonable question: «is the fish fried or grilled?» She failed to ask whether we wanted flour or corn tortillas on our tacos; when we saw the options on the menu we inquired whether it was too late to change, but if not, no big deal. She replied with: «No, the default is flour, you should’ve ordered corn in the first place.» Rude! I’ve been to every accessible island in Hawaii, & Oahu has been by far the worst for supplying Aloha! Why? Being frustrated is ok, but being rude is unacceptable & is a huge factor in overall customer satisfaction in giving a rating. To add insult to injury, the next customer in line was greeted most pleasantly & recited a list of specials not on the menu, including poke which we would’ve also ordered had we known(attention owner-lost revenue). Thankfully, the guy cooking(owner?) was SUPER helpful, eager to please, overheard our request & allowed a change in our order. He stepped in & said«No prob man!» As for the actual food rating, I’d say 3.0; had the single tortillas been grilled or warmed-up so they didn’t crumble(which seems to be a common misstep when using corn tortillas) maybe we’d even give a 4. However, the tortillas disintegrated resulting in a salad requiring a fork. Also, Mrs. Rude didn’t give us our drinks, & both our sides were incorrect(but tasty); we dared not mention anything further, so we just ate & left! Poor experience collectively, since an eating«experience«is about much more than the food alone. 1⁄5 for service/attitude/accuracy &3⁄5 food for an average of 2. However, when compared with the cat food that’s served next door at «North Shore Tacos»(claimed to be the best) I’m forced to score these guys higher, so we’ll give the benefit of the doubt & give a 3. Lastly, the address on Unilocal is incorrect. They are not located near Sunset Beach, they are actually across from Sharks Cove.

This food truck is awesome. We had fresh ahi poke in a shoyu sauce, legit some of the best fish I’ve ever had; and I’m Japanese and from a port town in Washington so I’m picky. The owner John came and chatted with us for a while after we ate, he and his family just moved here a few months ago after selling their restaurant in Florida to start the food truck. We were asking him for recommendations for what to do for thanksgiving dinner, and he offered to slice us up some ahi sashimi! So we had a delicious huge sashimi and rice thanksgiving dinner :) One note-The address Unilocal currently lists is incorrect, it puts you at the school west down the road a bit. They are actually located in the big food truck area right by Foodland. Hope Unilocal gets the address fixed soon. Highly recommend trying this place out!
