This was a great experience. Mid week, evening meal. They have an assortment of Big, Bigger, biggest burgers to choose from in addition to many other items. This was fun, it was a bit cold with the air conditioner running so we sat out on the porch. No bugs! There were five of us and the order was served fast, we had the wait team bringing us drinks without having to ask, but simply gesturing, with an arm wave. The burgers were cooked just right and the invoice was small at the end of the meal.

Update as of Feb 2016: Everything written before still seems on point. I realize I failed to talk about the full bar they have here. On-site bathrooms.(Big plus) And the fun and sometimes chaotic interior. They even have a tv usually showing the surf channel which makes it great for a place to meet up with friends or family for a drink. I was just there last night and had my favorite drink: a milkshake!(before dinner of course)

Man, we love us some Teddy’s Burgers buuuut this is the 3rd time my husband has ordered a burger from Teddy’s in Haleiwa and come home to it being super undercooked! He never specifies how much he wants it cooked because they’re supposed to make them all medium, I believe, unless you request otherwise, but this is ridiculous! We hate going to this one but sometimes it’s more convenient to stop here. We usually go to the Wahiawa location and they always do a great job. The Haleiwa location is our least favorite and always messes something up with every single order grr! Sooo I think 3rd time is the last time and we’ll stick the Wahiawa one.

First off I would like to say that unless the food was horrible, I was going to give 5 stars just because of the service! The woman at the register was polite and patient and just like a New Yorker loves, delivered prompt service. Then as I was waiting for the food to go with my wife, a man at the register walked up to where we were sitting just to look at my receipt to see where our food was. AREYOUSERIOUS!!! NOWHEREONTHEMAINLAND would you get someone who cares that much about their customers. That was even before we ate the food! My wife’s Bacado burger had so much avocado and bacon she couldn’t finish it all, and she loved the Cajun fries as well. I got the teriyaki biggest burger with bacon and cheese, and the garlic butter fries. I never, NEVER thought I would get a burger in Hawaii but I am so glad I did! Seriously I don’t know what happened with the other reviews, but c’mon it’s Hawaii and it’s never going to be a mecca for burgers, but this puts 5 guys and In n out burger to shame! Betta recognize! Keep that customer service up!

One of the best burgers ever. Love the special sauce! Friendly staff. They even had coffee for my mother-in-law. Worth stopping for.

Local seniors having Sunday Brunch after church at Teddy’s… High commendation to the manager, Leilani! She is kind, respectful, and professional. Made sure we were all happy! Prices great! Portions great! Variety very good. Service quick. Plenty of indoor and out door seating! Will return! Thanks Leilani, Linda

Delicious, huge burgers. Got the smallest size and it was still very big. Also got a BBQ sandwich which was tasty, but not quite as good as the burger. Downgraded them one star because they told me the butter garlic fries had chunks of actual garlic when it actually just had seasoning.

As a private tour guide who is constantly eating with customers on the North Shore, you will be hard-pressed to find somewhere better than Teddy’s! In addition to having my favorite burgers in Hawaii, the North Shore location has a really awesome tiki bar atmosphere that makes you really feel like you’re in the islands. Leilani and Chanelle do a fantastic job making sure food gets out fast, and that orders are accurate. Believe me when I say, we’ve had some pretty difficult and super customized orders LOL. See you guys soon!

First, we’re from Austin, Tx. and on our honeymoon. We love Hawaii, esp the North Shore and Hale’iwa. We couldn’t wait to spend time in Hale’iwa again. The staff was very friendly. Service was excellent as they came out to check up on us. The burgers were huge and tasty. Fries were hot and fresh. Great atmosphere for everyone. We will be coming back. Mahalo.

I don’t see what the hype is about this place, if you want real burgers, go across the street to Kua Aina burgers where they have a much more flame broiled taste. The meat here was honestly pretty bland tasting, like something I could’ve found at a fast food chain. The only redeeming factor here was the umami fries, which were basically fries with every sauce/topping imaginable(like spicy sauce, garlic, furikake to name some). The fries get a little old near the end since they’re very heavy, but they are pretty good. The burgers themselves are pretty poor though. Service here is also pretty bad to match, one of our party’s orders got lost because they kept calling it, well my friend never got a receipt, but only a table number so the wrong number was being called! The cashiers are also exceedingly slow, I’m glad we beat the lunch rush because the line was backed up out the door and almost to the parking lot.

DON’T!!! Just DON’T! Save yourself the time, and the money; Hit up McDonald’s… Seriously. This place is HORRIBLE! And it’s actually not because of the food. The ONLY positive thing I have to say about my experience tonight, was the conversation with the strangers next to us. I’m not sure if they were terribly understaffed. Or if whoever was in charge, had their head up their ass… I took my 2year old outside to sit down and wait while my husband stood in line, and ordered. MORE than FOURTY-FIVE minutes later, he finally joined us at our table. From there, we waited another. THIRTY minutes(for 2 burgers and some chicken strips!!!) Are you kidding me?! Teddy’s BURGERS, and you can’t even handle that?! The food, you know what we went for… I’d give a ‘Eh’ to. The ‘sauce’(aka honey mustard) was in one spot in the middle, and four pickles STACKED over it. Chicken strips were more like chicken droppings, over coated in batter and fried up real ‘nice’ … Not one individual on the patio tonight was satisfied with their experience. SKIPIT!

We love Teddy’s Bigger Burgers — we’ve eaten at the Honolulu and Wahiawa locations. And we love that the Haleiwa location has a tiki bar. And the staff is trying hard. But… This evening was a disaster. No manager on duty and it showed. 30 minutes to order our food. The lone cashier kept disappearing to do other things. Food sitting on the the pass through waiting to be delivered to tables. 45 minutes or more to get our food. Other diners said they had waited over an hour and had not received their food. They finally brought the order but the chicken for the salad wasn’t ready. It appeared after we had finished our meal. The sauces were wrong. Some items were hot and fresh, some seemed to have been sitting. The kitchen stations are clearly not coordinated. In short, dinner was a disaster. A number of other diners in the patio area were also vocal in their criticism. Teddy’s management — what are you thinking? How does a restaurant open for dinner service without a manager on duty? And you might want to rethink your menu or figure out how to get food cooked and served in less than 45 minutes. Until then, we will eat across the street at Kua Aina.

First let me say if this were for service and the employees it would be a 5 star! They are very welcoming and helpful and happy. Ordered the make your own salad and added avocado, bacon, onion and tomato. Ordered it take out as I live 5 minutes away. Get home and open the salad and was appalled the avocado was brown and just nasty looking. I wouldn’t even have used this avocado to make guacamole– at this point I would throw it away! I have been to this location twice before, when they were newly opened. Service always good. Food always amazing! I’m not sure about what happened this time. I know it may not be a deal breaker for some but for me I won’t give this location another try. To put these avocados on a salad and think it’s ok, naw, I’m done!

Teddy’s is an ok place if you are craving a comforting heart attack of a meal. The burgers are good but not great. I feel like you can get better from VJ’s or Breakers down the street. I do have to give them props for having decent onion rings and tater tots but again, if you aren’t in the mood for a greasy treat then you aren’t going to leave very happy. The atmosphere is interesting, kinda dark and fake dumpy? Not sure how to describe it. Its very clean but they purposely made design choices to make it feel like a seaside hole in the wall. Not likely I’ll be going back soon but if you are looking for a new burger joint you could give it a try.

Teddy’s Bigger Burgers was a great old fashioned burger joint. They had a great base menu and a lot of interesting Hawaiian twists to your typical burger. When I bit into it, the party was thick and juicy, the special sauce was great, and the veggies fresh. Really a tasty burger. Plus the full bar and casual atmosphere was great and absolutely what I was looking for on a relaxing afternoon.

Teddy’s kept popping up on Unilocal so we thought we’d try it out. We discovered that they had turkey burgers! Not very many restaurants do so it was a delight! I shared the big turkey burger w/bacon and tater tots w/AJ. Also got a side of onion rings. Burger and tots were really good including service. The onion rings were so so.

The magazine in my hotel room noted that Teddy’s Bigger Burgers has been voted a local favorite for several consecutive years, so I was eager to give them a try. This location in North Shore is in the same shopping center as Matsumoto shave ice so you can conveniently hit 2 local treats if you come here. With the abundance of burger places in LA, I gotta say that I didn’t get the hype. The burger was definitely cooked nicely, with cool lettuce/tomato/pickle but I wouldn’t call it anything special. I mean, it’s a good lunch but my expectations were probably too high.

We had really good service here. The staff was really nice. Food came out pretty quick, and in the meantime, we had beers at the Tiki Bar. I love the way the place is decorated. The old doors as tables was a good idea. Nice clean bathrooms and you don’t need a stupid code to get in. The food was excellent, all four of us were pleased with our food. Their burgers are definitely some of the best.

A few things have changed since my first visit. First, they removed the other side of the menu that I didn’t realize they never started serving to begin with. Second, I believe they’ve started doing happy hour(or any day now) and have discounted drinks and food items such as tempura green beans. Third, they’ve started serving the salads — at least at the bar — in the lined red plastic baskets. It’s a big improvement over the plastic to-go containers they were using at first. Fourth, they’ve added some new wines, including a easy-drinking red. Fifth, the bar manager is still awesome — very friendly and whipping everything into shape. Sixth(this isn’t new), but I just have to say the cajun tots are ridiculously good… light and crispy and a perfect spice blend. Still haven’t ordered from the counter or sat at a table, so can only comment on my belly-up-to-the-bar experiences.

Working out the Kinks Very cool interior and cozy outside dining. The menu on the way is way too small to read and completely non intelligible to figure out what price a burger or meal will be. The menu really needs to be simpler and easy to understand. Teddy’s is a bit like The Counter in that you can build your own burger. The problem is that you have to tell person who takes your order and it doesn’t always come out the way you wanted. When we were there, it was not crowded but the service was really slow and when we received our order, it was wrong. The flavors were really good and we know this restaurant will be popular. It was just new and it still has some kinks to work out. Give it a shot, though, as it will only improve with experience.
