This place has EVERYTHING!!! This store has to be the best Homebrew Supply store in the DFW area. The staff is super nice and very helpful. I have been brewing for about a year or two, but i hadn’t really found anywhere in the that had knowledgeable employees, but the staff here proved to be the exception. I had been having some problems with my five gallon batches and they actually had two of their staff members take time out of what they were doing to come and give me advice on my process. One of the guys even gave me a brief tour of the store. I used to buy all my supplies from Amazon, but now that I know this place is around, I will be blowing my paychecks here!

Wow, just moved from the land of the microbrew, Oregon. Texas is a shocker, but the staff here are wonderful! Took all the time we needed. They helped above & beyond. Answered all our questions! What a terrific resource. They even had the 6 gallon carboy that the movers had broken! Well worth the trip. We will be back & become a loyal customers!

The customer service is top notch. I am new to brewing and have a lot of boneheaded questions. I don’t live right around the corner so I have to resort to Emailing my questions. They respond to my questions extremely fast with excellent advice. Their responses are very polite and professional with extra tips and links to head me in the right direction. My orders are received very fast in a strong box loaded with extra goodies like stickers! I will continue to use TBI from here on out

Stubby’s is a fantastic homebrew shop in the DFW area, I can’t believe it took me so long to find them. I used to purchase all of my ingredients from Austin Homebrewing and never had a problem, that is beyond paying for shipping and not having the personal aspect of discussing ingredients. After my first visit to Stubby’s, I can’t imagine going anywhere else for ingredients. They’ve recently renovated their space and dramatically improved the shop, even though it was already pretty large to begin with. They have all possible ingredients for your homebrew, and all are priced very decently. I love the discount they give for full grain bags! It’s a great way to save some cash and keep yourself making delicious beer. The service is definitely worthy of 5 stars. Stubby and his crew are super accommodating and helpful when you have questions or concerns. More times than not, I’m greeted warmly with a small sampling of somebody’s homebrew right when I walk in. Awesome? Awesome. I typically figure out what I’m gonna brew during the end of the week, place my order Friday morning, and swing by on my way home to pick up my order. Definitely write in the comment box of your order the time you’ll be by to pick it up, and they’ll have it ready! A few times I forgot to do this and showed up 30 minutes before closing to get my grains. They rushed to throw it all together for me, even after I said don’t worry about it and that I could pick it up in the morning. That’s quality service. What makes a LHBS5 stars is the expression of their love of homebrewing; taking the time at the end of a long day to fill a customers order is special to me, but also to them because they know full well(and more so than me!) the beautiful quest of homebrewing some beer during your weekend. Taking their business to the next level by renovating the physical and online store is a great window into the greatness that is Stubby’s. I highly recommend all homebrewers in the Mid-Cities/Ft Worth area to check em out. Even you Dallas folks who utilize the great LHBS in Richardson, swing by Stubby’s next time you’re in funky town and pick up some goods!

My better half is into beer brewing and I’m into beer drinking so it felt fitting that we should visit Stubbys. On a Saturday afternoon they were decently busy. There were about 10 people shopping around and three people(maybe more) working the counter. I noticed they offer classes so that’s pretty cool too. My boyfriend wanted to make an Amber Ale and noticed Stubbys had kits but there wasn’t an amber so we inquired. One of the employees explained they are developing their amber currently and they had a small sample available. It was delicious! They went above and beyond to then print the recipe of what we sampled(again, not available for sale in a kit because it’s in development) and personally selected everything we would need to brew this at home. Interesting side note that all of the ingredients for this particular beer were American also. Patriotism, yeah! We leave and begin the process. All is well and fine until better half notices what he thinks is something floating in his beer. He panics that it is a dreaded infection and calls Stubbys. The employee who answered was calm and patient, the reassuring touch he needed in this terribly stressful time(slight eye-roll). All was well with the beer in the end. We have since bottled and consumed the beer. It’s awesome. Thanks Stubbys!

Just moved from Dallas, and had a good homebrew store over there in Richardson. Found this one online, and went in for supplies to brew up a few batches of summer ales. I must say they are very accommodating here. They had everything on my list that was commercially available at the time. I say that because they didn’t have a certain type of hops i needed, but explained there was a crop shortage the year before and it wasn’t available at retail until more could be grown, hopefully it would be available after this years growing season. I verified this information at home with a quick google query. They did suggest a viable alternative, and even milled my grains for me in the amounts I needed as I shopped for my other ingredients. As always, I spent more than anticipated, but this shop has so much equipment and ingredients, it was hard not to do. If you are into homebrewing, be sure to stop by, they are great IMHO.

When you start a new hobby, there are always the hobby stores. You know you pretty much know nothing, but you’ll have to go in for equipment or supplies at some interval, and you know you’re going to have questions. Ridiculous, dumb newbie questions. And even if you’re not a newbie, there are always going to be people who know waay more than you do. Once you get past the supply of stuff in the store — is there enough, is it good, is it varied enough to have what you want when you’re looking for something slightly on the obscure side — this is what can make or break a hobby store in my opinion: the people. There’s nothing worse than getting the comic book guy from the Simpsons trying to tell you what you don’t know from across the counter in the corner that he refuses to leave. So as for supply, they have the most extensive amount of brewing equipment and grains for beer that I’ve been able to find in the area(and it’s the easiest to get to from central FW). And that’s great. But they also have the most helpful staff who will lead you through every step of the way in the store, answering any questions you might have, and making suggestions of things you may or may not have thought of to ensure that your brew day goes off without a hitch(don’t ask about all the times before, where I realized I needed something at the exact moment I needed it). They’re clearly experts as well as enthusiasts in every sense of the word, and it comes through in every visit.

I have known the owner, Stubby, for many years. He is an expert homebrewer who turned his brewing passion into a business devoted to inspiring that same passion to others. I have watched him grow his store from humble beginnings into an amazing mecca of a homebrew store over the last year and a half. Truthfully and without mincing words, I AMINAWE. He really tapped into the pulse of the homebrewing world and has started to bring together brewers from all over the metroplex. He has a desire to do more than just deliver supplies to people so they can brew. His store has made an effort to give people the knowledge to brew well. Anyone can brew a batch of bad beer, but most people won’t brew a second one. Stubby has made a concerted effort that Texas Brewing Inc would be a competitively priced place to buy brewing equipment and supplies. That is the easy part. But doing so and caring about the product that his CUSTOMERSMAKE. That is the hard part. This may sound like too nice a review, but if you don’t believe it, stop in to Texas Brewing, Inc and say you don’t believe what Kyle said. if you don’t, Stubby has my number and he can call me on the spot. Everyone interested in the hobby, please look up this store.
