One of the most unique and fun dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. My father told me about the place from Ed Hitzel’s food radio show. We walk in greeted by Bernadette who tells us to sit down anywhere. Funzy, who is talking to other customers chimes in also. We sit down and it’s apparent that we’re in for a treat. Walking into Funzy’s is like walking into someones house and sitting down for dinner. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. When not in the kitchen Funzy is at the tables talking to the customers like you’ve known him for years. He’s not afraid to yell across the restaurant and introduce you to another customer, yell for Bernadette from the kitchen to pick up an order, or speak his mind about anything. But mostly he talks about his restaurant and food that clearly he loves. Both Funzy and Bernadette are friendly and make you feel right at home. As far as the food it’s really fresh and very tasty. This is home cooking at its best. Funzy only has about 4 to 6 items on the menu per week. Every week it changes so he can bring in only the freshest ingredients. They brought out bread and lots of it. Along with the bread came an appetizer consisting of zucchini and tomato sauce which was awesome. They also asked if we wanted long hots which were also good, but really hot. We next ordered the Dolphin bites. Fried fish served with a dipping sauce. The bites themselves didn’t look appealing consisting mainly of scrapes of fish fried in a batter. But the taste was excellent. Slightly salty but with a nice hint of spice and it paired well with the ranch like sauce. For my main course I got the homemade cheese ravioli. They were plentiful, I’d say about 8 or 9 on the plate, and very good. The sauce was excellent and I finished that off with the left over bread. Needless to say after all that we were full. My friend had the Chicken which he said was excellent. My wife had the cheese ravioli also with a side of sausage. She thought the sausage was excellent. Can I recommend this place? Yes, the food is excellent and the home like atmosphere makes for a fun night. Can I recommend this place to everyone? Unfortunately no, I think some people may not get what’s going on here. The place is by no means fancy and looks like they haven’t finished putting the place together. I can see some people getting turned off by someone sitting at the table for a while as you’re eating. But this is the charm of the place and we will be back again.

I’ve never actually been inside of this place but it looks super shady. We did order a pumpkin pie from here for thanksgiving one year(clearly not my decision) and it was atrocious. It literally looked like someone filled pie crust with old grey oatmeal. So bad. Like completely inedible. Visit at your own risk.
