This place is now closed. It was once a good place, but went downhill over the years. Too bad as it was a good place to go for a nice meal previously.

I actually like this place. The bar area is casual and the food I’ve ordered is always very good. They even make a meal that is no longer on the menu for me and my husband. They are very accommodating and friendly. I have no complaints and we’ve been going there for about 15 years.

I have been there twice. They had live bands both times. The bands were good but everything else sucked. The drinks were expensive and the alcohol was lacking. I asked for a southern comfort on the rocks with a splash of coke and got a coke. The bathrooms were disgusting and so were the table tops. I didn’t dare eat hear.

The last time I was here, I was truly disappointed. The portions seemed generous enough but the quality of food is just not the same as when the original owners opened it’s doors. This place needs an extensive update as far as décor goes. Sure, it was beautiful«in the day», but it is at least a decade overdue to be overhauled. The restrooms were not too clean and the waitstaff are not friendly. It seems as though we were bothering them by being there. I remember going into the bar area many years ago with my husband for a sandwich and a drink, every few weeks. We never had a bad meal back then. The clientele were nice folks and at that time it was not a dive atmosphere, like it appears these days. The place had class back then unlike the crew that appears to be lingering in the bar these days. When the kids were little, the Village Square Inn sponsored so many athletic teams. All the families reciprocated by patronizing the restaurant and it was usually quite busy. If I am not mistaken, the owners were Steve and Jeanne Moore. They were the best as their food was too. Sure do miss the«old days».

«Villagio» is the word we use to describe this place cause it’s a fancy name for a place that obvi is not very fancy at all. Its actually pretty divey and stuck in the 80’s…including the clientele. I still like to come here for the cheap beahs. The food used to be good on the pub side.(I’ve never eaten on the«farty» side). Their menu has since changed and I have not tried the newer, more expensive, and less«pubbish» foods they have now. It’s a place I will go if I am feeling brave.

We went here a couple of times with neighbors who were big fans. Food was really forgettable, and the atmosphere was very dated. Waitstaff was not really attentive.

Went there Saturday night to hear a friend play. We’d been there before and knew what to expect. Well, due to poor weather there were only 3 tables of people and a ½ full bar. You’d like that we were bothering the waitress by being there. We had to flag her down for drinks and when I brought my completely flat beer back to her, she looked at me like I had 6 heads.

It is what it is. If I was from Hampstead I may love this place, but I’m not, and I don’t. Cheap drinks, not a great selection of beer. Food left a lot to be desired. Like I said it’s just one of those local watering holes, but if you’re not a local, my advice would be to skip it and find something else.

I only tried lunch here so my review is limited by that fact and not affected by what sounds like a cool bar/club(for NH). The restaurant was nicely decorated for the holidays and it had that nice New England feel to it. Two fire places added to the warmth. I got a priced very fairly haddock dish. I think it was called haddock fiesta.(it was a special) Haddock rolled in ground up colored nacho chips. It was finished with a nice, spicy salsa with some nicely flavored sour cream. I noticed the lunch crowd was old, very old. The food was good, the service was slow for a Saturday lunch. Prices high for southern NH but not bad. Plenty of parking and clean. I’ll check it out again for dinner when waiting 30 – 45 minutes for my food doesn’t bother me. Overall I would recommend. Seems they have a happening bar here & decent function room.

The«Villagio» as it was introduced to me was a lot of fun, probably because I was already trashed when I got there and danced with a bunch of peeps from highschool, and basically I couldn’t see because of the vodka sodas. Nice. I have eaten here before, a long time ago… I guess that is on the other more fancy side, and the food was good. I had no idea about the divey bar on the other side which can totally be great fun, who would have thought, in Hampstead! That being said, there is a lot of parking because, it is my homeland NH, and it wouldn’t be NH without parking. The band that was there was a lot of fun, they played all the classics that you might hear at any and all divey bars across the land. I have no idea if I will ever be back, but I totally would next time I am staying the night in NH. Best thing is, you can eat in the restaurant then walk over to the bar without having to go outside, pretty awesome!

Now I remember why I we didn’t want to come back here.(Yawn) This place is freekin Yawnsville. Food is undazzelling and unforgettable. Bathroom was dirty and the entire place was out of date and in desperate need of a make over. Grey and silver hair based, this place was dead by 8:00 on a Friday night. The bar lounge area had more life. Not sure if they serve food in there. We will not return.
