Once, what seems so long ago now, I used to go to Jumpin’ Jack’s on my way into Winnacunnet in the morning. And boy was it a godsend(back then, there was nothing like a hot cinnamon latte to start off a bitter cold winter’s morning). So naturally, after finishing up college and coming back to my home town for a bit for work, I figured«hey! Jumpin’ Jack’s is on my drive in! Awesome!» Well, so far my experiences haven’t been«awesome». I suppose the first red flag was that it was re-labeled«Jumpin’ Jill’s». Not that that’s a bad thing — I understand they’ve expanded out to Hampton beach and want to give each independent location an identity — but they have expanded and at least the Rt. 1 location seems to have suffered some quality issues. And maybe not even necessarily quality issues(although there are some), but consistency issues. I’m a latte guy, so for about the first month of driving into my job, I’d grab a medium hot skim latte, no sugar — a simple enough drink — about 3 – 4 times a week. The first day I go by there, I get my coffee handed to me and the first thing I think is «this is huge! way larger than I remembered! I’ll definitely be back tomorrow!» So I go back the next day, order the exact same drink, and I’m handed a cup that was significantly smaller than the one I got the previous day. Someone must have put ‘large’ instead of ‘medium’ that first day(and I’ve never gotten lucky with that again), but that was the second red flag. And then game the slew of inconsistent volumes. Some days my cup would be full to the brim, some days it would be almost half empty(or a little over half full for you optimists). But I figured ‘oh its a busy day, I understand, not going to make a big deal about it’. But after about a month of this continuing to happen, I switched my latte order to just a coffee, unsweetened, with skim and a shot of espresso. And while the cup has always been full, the coffee tastes incredibly watered down and stale. I’ve had one good cup of straight coffee from there this past month, and after two months of countless chances and wanting to support a local business, I just can’t do it anymore. I don’t think I’ll force myself to down dunkin’s(although I think even they have a leg up on Jack’s coffee) ever again, but I do know that the Keurig machine at work will be seeing me religiously in the mornings. Between sub-par coffee that’s(moderately) overpriced and relatively decent coffee that’s free, I know which one I’m going to pick. And for really quality coffee, I’ll break out the French press in the morning with some fresh beans from Kilims, BNGs or Vonsolln.

Ridiculously expensive… i work in the area so this is convenient however, i ve gone 3 times… 1st out of med cups only had large but were going to charge for large(hmmm not sure that’s my fault) 2nd time out of cream!!! i work at 8am so it’s not 5pm at a coffee house with no cream. 3rd time realized it is insane expensive about $ 4 for a med iced… ridiculous. Hampton needs another coffee house/bagel shop as this is it besides chains and i think galley hatch is even worse.

This drive-through has won my heart. I am a loyal Triple-J fan as long as Joe is there. The owners and staff are the kindest, most welcoming people. If they’re out of creamer, they’ll pour some in a to-go ramekin for you. If they don’t have any dark roast, they’ll brew a fresh pot for you. They’ll remember you and your family, and they’ll give your dog(or cat) treats at the window. It’s just ridiculous how family-oriented these guys are, and for that alone, I’d happily recommend this place for years to come. The drip coffee is the best around these parts. I only wish they had a place to hang out inside like the store by the beach! I would work on my laptop here in a second. I just can’t say enough good things for Joe, the owner, here. I know he’s planning to open something new pretty close and I’ll follow him wherever he goes. I don’t live in Hampton, but every time I come back to see family here, it’s my first stop! … then Lago’s ;)

The worst coffee that I have ever tasted. I was so disappointed after hearing all the hype about Jumpin’ Jacks. The two window drive-thru idea is pretty cool but I think when there’s just one person manning both windows the quality of the product they’re serving has got to suffer, especially if it was a busy day like when my friend and I went. I ordered a pretty simple coffee: iced caramel crunch, no sugar and extra cream. It was a bad sign when we had to repeat the order three times. One sip of the coffee and I knew it wasn’t what I ordered or what anyone would consider a coffee. Yuck! It tasted like water with cream in it with just a hint of coffee. Horrible. If we hadn’t been in a hurry we would have turned around and attempted to get our money back. Absolutely never going to stop there again. Waste of time and money.

I’m addicted to Jumpin’ Jack’s Java. The coffee is roasted perfectly and flavored coffees are excellent. I’m an iced coffee fan, even in winter, and it’s always strong enough with full flavor. Baked goods are fabulous(but if you don’t get there early enough in the day they do run out of the popular ones). The breakfast sandwiches are good. Service is very(VERY) friendly and efficient — I always feel like they’re glad to have my business. Prices are more than fair for the quality, which is superior to Dunkin’s. I just wish they were open later and on Sundays. UPDATE — They are now open on Sundays(the Route 1 location).

I have stopped here for the last two days to get coffee before work. The service is pleasant and quick, which is important when you are heading to work. The coffee is more dunkin donuts than it is starbucks, which in my opinion I like a darker roast. The cost is a little high at around 2.25 for a medium hot coffee which is only 16oz. Overall I do like this place and will return seeing as there is not a drive thru Starbucks in my way to work.

Good quick place to stop for coffee and donuts. Jumpin Jack’s Java is drive-up service only and has double drive-thru windows for speedy service. The menu offers hot & cold coffee(java) & tea drinks, lattes, smoothies, donuts, muffins, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches. 3 Java Combos are offered here(2 donuts, muffin & bagel with cream cheese). See the menu at The menu prices are in line with other chains such as Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks, just over $ 2 for a large hot coffee. I like the dark roast coffee brewed here, which has a robust and smooth taste. The honey dip donuts are decent, very similar in the firm texture to the Honey Dew Donuts. NOTE: All tips and gratuities are donated to the Jumpin Jack’s Community Scholarship Fund-5 area high school students were awarded $ 1500 each in 2007. OPENHOURS: 5AM-5PM(Monday-Saturday)
