Lunch today they served half cooked fried chicken. The waitress said yea your right its undercooked. Then did nothing. My friend finished his lunch eating around the raw chicken. Later she brought the check. Didn’t charge him for the chicken but the bill included his fries salad and drink. All the while the raw food still laying there on his plate. The cashier ask how was your meal and he proceeded to tell her the story. She said sorry and took his money. Should have made it right. At least not take his money. Unbelievable.

Stopped in Sunday evening for a quick bite. Ordered a small cheeseburger with onion. When the girl brought it to me at the counter I was wondering where the beef was. To my dismay, I opened up the bun to find a mis-shapened 2oz max piece of meat with cheese lost in the center of the bun. It wouldn’t have even made a decent size meatball! When the bun was on the plate you couldn’t even see it as the bun dwarfed the little bit of meat there was. It was truly a joke and a half. The person who cooked this and put it on the bun knew exactly what she was doing, screwing with me. I didn’t want to cause a scene so I ate it and watched another double burger being served to the guy at another table. I could see two pcs. of meat. What really pissed me off is the numb nuts waitress knew she was serving me a joke and served it anyway. Will I ever stop back, no way in hell. I’ll just drive by and stop at a REAL restaurant down the road. Save your money if this is what they consider food! Tom Marino Portsmouth VA

We eat here often and the food is usually very good — you cannot go wrong with the hot roast beef, the fried chicken is simply amazing and made to order and the breakfasts are pretty reliable. On occasion the cooks will mess up an order and make a special incorrectly or forget to add something(perhaps a turnover issue within the kitchen??!). Burgers are very tiny patties(2) that are probably about 2 ounces each — not a big fan … They do make homemade rolls with dinner that are decent but very soft and yeasty– some people may love them– but not me. The fries cannot be beat and are the best thing going for this place! Hand cut real potatoes fried nice and crispy… Servers are friendly if not too busy –if it’s very busy they are decent but not overly friendly. Tends to get very busy all day long … I ordered a Reuben as a special months ago and it was amazing but unfortunately they have not had it on the menu since … Overall mostly reliable quality and service!

Seafood platter, bbq roast beef specials are double the portion of ordinary restaurant and very high quality for an amazing price. This place is quite busy, so be prepared to park carefully, wait for a table inside, or on the deck, extra parking Dow the hill is challenging, then relax and take it easy while you are waited on and served. Small town vibe is great! If you need to limit your French fry intake, DONOT order them here! Again, big portions, high quality, and low price.

My husband decided to try the salad bar tonight. Unfortunately he was not alone in this decision as the dead spider in his salad was along for the ride as well. Not sure if it was from the salad dressing or the cheese but either way it was definitely there. I had ordered mashed potatoes and found a hair in them. Unfortunately it wasn’t until towards the end of the dish. When this was brought to the management attention she said, «Oh it’s not a stink bug is it?» Does that mean they have a stink bug issue in the restaurant we should know about? How about an apology? Well luckily they only charged us $ 1.99 for the salad bar instead of the normal $ 5.99 ayce because my husband ate one bowl prior to finding the the spider!!! I paid full price for the potatoes because I had eaten them. Tough luck about the hair. Guess that’s what you get. Wonder what food critics would think and what the health dept would say? The carpet is dirty and the entry way now looks like a storage room. Your patrons don’t need to see this. Put up a wall or something. When this restaurant first opened they were really good and CLEAN! I’m not sure what changed but they need to fix it!!!

Mediocre food, lackadaisical service. Rare hamburger was cooked very well done. BBQ was thoroughly over-cooked and tasteless. Grilled vegetables were actually just sauteed in a pan, and appeared to be low grade canned vegetables to begin with(nasty would be the appropriate word for them). Service was understaffed and seems to have given up on the notion of ever earning a decent tip through good service. You will be served, eventually. Don’t expect a smile or any help

The food here is usually tasty & the portions are huge! The service is slow so be prepared to wait, but the staff is generally friendly.

if this is the place i actually ate at, then by golly it’s good. the best part were the peanut butter eggs they sold us on the way out. the worst part was the fact that they’d run out of mashed potatoes. whaaaat.
