The Chicken Shack

I have tried both Wingstop and Chicken Shack. Chicken Shack is much better. Prices are similar, if not less. Restaurant is always clean, employees are on top of everything, and the food is delicious. They have bigger wings with more flavors available.

Came in for tender Tuesday but when I got home I realized my 10 tenders were still charged regular price of 12.99:(
Food was still excellent, but I don’t like being charged more. Received a refund. Great customer service.

I love this place! It’s awesome. I love that they offer the choice of having your chicken grilled rather than fried. The prices aren’t to bad either.

This place is frigging awesome! Really decent prices and really decent portions.
I’ve been here 3 times so far before I reviewed it only because I wanted to really make sure that this wing place was worth it and may I tell you heck ya it is!
Don’t go to in and out or any other burger place and feel sick afterwords this place is «semi» healthy for you (due to the chicken)
Yes 5 stars totally worth it and I believe there so good that the will become a staple of Hanford for a long time to come. Not many places give quality food and quality service at the same time.

Food was great, love their selection of sauces. Cheap pricing, casual atmosphere, and delicious chicken. Try the garlic fries, they’re so good!

Tender Tuesday is the way to go if you don’t like chicken on the bone (wings). $ 1 each and they’re no Buffalo Wild Wing boneless wings either, these ones are huge. They’re tender, moist, and flavorful. I had the lemon pepper seasoning which I felt was lacking in flavor. It could have used a little more, but in their defense, it brought out the fresh chicken taste. I might just go with a wet sauce next time. I like that they now offer their «secret» menu and have it posted on the wall just under the regular menu. It’s the items they offer at the Thursday market whenever it’s in season.
This place seems to be popular with the local work crowd around lunch so if your in a rush, plan ahead. Maybe call your order in, or be there at 10 when they open up.
Overall good food at reasonable prices. If your in town and craving some chicken, head over to this place and don’t miss out on their Tuesday special.

The chicken was delicious and the fries as well I really enjoyed my meal. The ambiance/​décor of the place from the tables shaped like wooden bed frames, TV with sport center, beer selection and so on… were cool and complimented the place nicely. You can tell it’s the go to place for locals when they need their wing fix. The reasoning behind my average rating is all the wings were breaded like fried chicken then flavored, don’t get me wrong it was still very delicious but I like my wings not breaded because the seasoning with the flour plus your flavor (which I chose lemon pepper) made some pieces salty. Cleanliness I’ll give a 3 due to the trash being full and some tables weren’t clean, later the worker started to tend to that which is why I gave a 3, Customer service 4 the girls were friendly. Overall I would stop by when passing through again!

Thankfully this is the very best chicken place in town! I can’t get enough of their delicious wings! They are cooked to perfection and they are a great size! The sauces are quite tasty & go well with the wings! I prefer them dry & like to dip them myself, as I enjoy the crunch of the well seasoned batter. The shoestrings fries are pretty darn good too, especially well they are fresh & hot. Whenever I drive past I say «hmmm should I? Excellent!

I’m from San Diego and finding good spots here can be a little challenging (small town) but this place was pretty good. The chicken was soft, well cooked and juicy. They have different sauce, I tried medium to play it safe and it had the perfect spicy kick. French fries was good as well… It’s a pretty good place, great service, clean with TVs for us sports fans. Totally recommend this place :)

We really like the chicken shack. There are over 25 sauces to choose from although I get their ranch dressing every time. I get my sauce on the side. We like the wings and tenders equally. The staff is very friendly and the portions are huge. We typically order the shack pack which is a good deal for our family. The wings are nice and meaty compared to the tiny wings at Wing Stop. Also a favorite is the garlic fries.

Fried chicken, wings, sandwiches, and beer, what more does man need. Food is always hot n fresh. Beer assortment of micro brews is awesome. Many awesome and different sauces to use on your wings or to dip. I get the three tenders and three wings combo. The wings are huge! Wish it was a cooler location.

Pretty darn good chicken! It was Tenders Tuesday, so we went with those and they were crispy and not too dry. Got the sauce (standard BBQ) on the side, because I’ve heard some complain that when they serve it up with the sauce coating the chicken it makes the breading soggy.
I liked the shoestring fries, which were very salty, just the far side of too salty. I don’t think I could’ve/would’ve finished them if I didn’t have help.
The service was the low point. The order came out quick enough, but the girl just dropped it on the table and walked away. Honestly it wasn’t that big of a deal, but would it kill you to ask «Need anything else?» or at least say «Enjoy.» I thought maybe we’d pissed her off, but I thought about it and at no point were we rude enough to deserve the kind of shit service you’d expect from a janky fast food joint. The girl who took our order was pleasant and helpful enough though! And again, it wasn’t a big deal, but it is unfortunate when one bad moment sours an otherwise enjoyable meal.

I tried this place for lunch. I found it to be a good, rustic lunch spot for a quick hot meal that wasn’t your average burger joint. The fries were hot and tasty. I ordered the #4 which is 3 wings, 3 fingers, fries and a drink. The meal was hot! Not spicy, but hot. Good tasting fries. The skin on the chicken was crispy and the meat was cooked just right. The service was attentive and friendly. I saw a young woman get the chicken sandwich– it looked good something I’ll have to try next time. I’d probably give it a four if I wasn’t alone. Lol.

I would give them 5 stars if the fries wouldn’t be skinny short lines of potatoes. It was the 3^rd time I eat there. and the chicken fingers are so good! But today I ask fries and was very disappointed when they bring a lot of these «fries», I would prefer maybe 15 french fries that tons of skinny line and salty potato.
Anyways, the main ingredient is chicken so, it is really good

Loving the lemon pepper wings! The wings were not overly seasoned and salted just right. Their sweet tea was yums. The spicy blue cheese dipping sauce is okay. The fries come seasoned and are delicious. The food warms up surprisingly well. Wish I had it fresh, and I’m sure my review will reflect that when visiting this joint.

You definitely do not come here because of the décor but workers are VERY friendly and service was very fast. I had garlic fries, just the right amount of garlic, thin and crispy. Tenders were large and freshly fried pieces of breast meat. You have the option to eat in or carry out. You can call in your order and it will be ready when you arrive. On the down side they serve only Pepsi products and I am a Coke gal. I plan to come back and try their sweet potato tots. Parking lot is easy to get in and out of.

Updated review after second visit, will be focusing on sauce flavors this time as my first review still stands. We ordered the mild again and the honey bbq. For anyone wondering, Heaven is the honey bbq and damn hot mixed. We didn’t try it, I’m just noting it for anyone wondering.
The mild was hotter this time, which irrates me on a basic level because I really do think there needs to be consistency when it comes to heat levels. We ordered these thinking they would be ok for the kids (based on our other experience). The kids were not pleased.
The honey bbq made up for that, what a wonderful crunch these wings had. They were tangy and sweet and sticky. Yum.
We skipped the garlic fries and the sides this time, I think this is going to be a wing only operation from here on out. Still, it’s good, we love having a wing place in Hanford.

After seeing quite a few negative Unilocal reviews, my friends and I were hesitant about coming. Threw that right out the window and charged inside. 8pm on a Tuesday and the place was packed, but turnover was quick and we got a table for 8 no problem.
Table needed to be cleaned, but was fairly clean so it didn’t bother me. We ordered up various wings, sauces, garlic fries, and sweet potato tots. The wings were obviously fresh, HUGE, and had a great crunch to them. Juicy too. They could use just a bit more seasoning (salt and pepper only) but aside from that… Solid. If you’re a saucemonster with wings, this doesn’t matter to you. Had the Cajun and chipotle BBQ sauce; Cajun was DELICIOUS… Chipotle bbq was sweet, but I couldn’t taste the chipotle. Still good. The garlic fries were fantastic; shoestring fries were cooked to a good crispness, not much grease at all. The garlic was just the right amount, and do I detect a touch of truffle oils? I believe I do. The sweet tots were probably not fresh made, but they were still delicious nonetheless.
My biggest cons were the tables needed bussing, and just a bit more seasoning on the wings. Other than that, a solid performance by Chicken Shack.

Room for improvement:
Have someone to clean the tables and empty the trash more often.
They serve Pepsi products (free refills!!!) I love coke, but after eating all this fried food people should stick to water anyway…
Little more seasoning to the wings (dried)
I was told the chicken is actually fresh and not frozen so great!
