Tongue Scalded!!! Went in on a Tuesday night and ordered the Oprah Herbal Chai. Employee Craig prepared my tea and gave it to me in two cups because«they were out of the protective sleeves». I walked out into the mall, took a sip of my tea and YIKES!!! the tea was so hot that I immediately stopped in my tracks and spit the tea on the floor of Arundel Mills INFRONTOFANYANDEVERYONE. Now that my tongue was scalded, I decided to call Teavana to warn them that they may want to cool the temp down before serving the over hot water to another patron. Craig answered the phone and I kindly told him«hey, you should have warned me that the tea was«TOOHOTTODRINKIMMEDIATELY» and«you may want to cool that water down before serving another patron, the tea WASTOOHOTTODRINK». He apologized and said«do you see the writing on the top of the cup lid?», I replied«yes», he said«THAT’S YOURWARNING», then abruptly hung up the telephone on me. By now, IMPISSED that not only have I been scalded and cannot take another sip of ANY drink at this point, but the employee who served the boiling hot tea was a smart a$$ and hung up the telephone abruptly to avoid having the conversation. Craig is a clown and should be FIRED.

–This store’s employees know their stuff –Employees walk you through the process –Savings tip –Location is nice I do really like this Teavana location there is more than one guy in here that really knows the stores product. They can lead you through the process of how to understand the markings of the store as well as how to understand the differences between each tea in there. They always have a great variety to regular and seasonals to just try at the front of the store(no pressure) they want you to try it and understand if you don’t want to buy. I don’t care for the price but I’m also cheap and I believe that an individual store shouldn’t be judged here based on the franchise. But if you do want to try out a limited selection of their stock without the bank breaking you can go into a Starbucks store, they usually have some stock, and buy a half pound for a couple dollars cheaper. I do love this location though and go back on the regular.

YAAAAAS! Teavana is open in Arundel Mills Mall! Whoop Whoop!!! Bye-Bye Columbia Mall drive and Starbucks, bring on the healthiness! Unlike coffee, tea has multiple benefits some even medicinal. There isn’t one day in the winter that I don’t have my hot oolong tea in the morning(inside my Copper Insulated Tea Tumbler of course!) and then again at work I non-stop brew white, rooibos, and green teas all day long in my Remi Glass Tea Mug(zero calories and super healthy, hello!?). Unlike the Columbia Mall location, the Arundel Mills tea crew is so much friendlier, helpful and knowledgeable. I don’t feel a strong push to buy and they allow me to sample everything they have available in-store. This makes me think that the Columbia Mall location runs on minimum pay and commission because they are clearly unhappy little workers. Arundel Mills is where it is at! I purchase three 2 ounce teas which were blended to my liking due to me wanting to copy what they had available in –store to taste(it was so good that I had to buy a tea to walk around the mall with). Fun Fact: Tea was first brought to North America by the Dutch in the 17th Century. The Dutch colony of New Amsterdam was acquired by the English who renamed the settlement New York and passed on many of the tea drinking customs that were common in England.

Teavana is now open in Arundel mills mall. This is wonderful news. Instead of heading to Starbucks why not try teavanas. The tea selection is large. There are always teas hot or cold to sample. The staff is amazingly friendly. Don’t walk by teavanas. Stop in and try the tea.
