***2016 update.*** What the ___!?! Why did this place close? I bet it was the location. It was on the end on the outside of the mall. Kinda hidden. The first time we went here it was hard to see and find within the mall area. I would guess that unless you knew about it and was looking for it otherwise out of sight out of mind. That is the only reason I would think that this place would close. They have one in Bridgeport we will con’t to visit. The company should email everyone on their list so that people won’t drive here out of their way looking for it.

This location closed as of 12/29/2015. Sorry to see it go, as the restaurant options around the mall are not stellar.

Really yummy food, really nice staff. I recommend this to everyone whether they’re vegan/vegetarian, or not! Really happy my friend showed me this hidden gem

I’m so glad that we got a Native Foods at the Clackamas Town Center. My non-vegetarian boyfriend was actually the one that recommended it to me. The food is always delicious, made with fresh ingredients. The staff is very nice. I went with two other people once during a very busy time and my friend’s food was delayed. The manager apologized and offered her a free dessert to compensate even though we had told him that we were totally fine waiting. If you have room for dessert, get the oatmeal cream pie!

I’m a meat eater– think paleo, and I think this place is great! What meat eaters don’t seem to get is we can eat vegan/vegetarian food! And when it’s good, it’s very good! I first tried NF in a yurt in CA; I loved it then & I love it now. I avoid highly processed foods now, and my favorites there tend to be the fake meat items(highly processed) and the cupcakes(so good– but the frosting is highly processed) but I still like eating here every so often. They really do vegan right. It’s really all about the sauces & seasonings. I’m ok in the kitchen, but I’d love to be able to make flavors like they do. I hardly ever leave a restaurant without thinking, «I coulda made that better at home.» But not here. It would take a lot to learn how to work spices, herbs & sauces like they do! Kudos Native Foods for being dedicated to your cause AND truly delicious… Not just for vegans!

A few months back when I lived in Portland I came to this chain for the first time having heard a lot of good things about it! My mother & I tried some vegan beers which were all really decent & split a reuban sandwich. The beers were all very good, the reuban was enjoyable but not something I’d order again. The people working were all very nice & it was a clean, well kept restaurant. I love all of the quirky prints on the walls, especially the wild animals doing yoga poses. I would definitely come back & try something different because I imagine there are a lot of great foods this place has to offer. Also love that it’s 100% vegan & don’t have to worry about checking descriptions!!!

OMG! I am always blown away when I discover healthy«fast food» restaurants. Outside of Chipotle, this is the only other place that I have been able to find that offers healthy food that is fast, convenient and the food is made from scratch. I was very impressed with the selection of plant based foods and I was just as equally impressed with my order. I opted for the twister wrap with crispy chicken and a side of sweet potato fries.

I didn’t realize that they had one here at the Clackamas mall! This has great stuff for the price. IT is a LOT of food. too much… so no need to really order an appetizer! I had the tacos for the first time and they were very yummy! Nice to know that it is here so close to me :)

The people are friendly and the food is excellent! First time there today with my mom, and we tried the lavender lemonade, which was delicious. I try to cut back on sugar most of the time, so one of the girls working there said that she drinks half water with half lemonade, which was perfect for me. The Japanese sesame chicken bites are delicious over the slaw it comes with. I usually don’t like slaw, but this one has a tasty, light dressing that doesn’t overpower the veggies. The bites actually do taste like real chicken! the chicken, bacon, avocado sandwich was very satisfying, and the chili had a nice spicy flavor to it, and was paired nicely with a bit of lemon/corn bread on the side. The bread definitely helped cut back on the heavy spicy flavor of the chili. And the cashew cheese on top was a perfect substitute for the usual sour cream or cheddar cheese used in non vegan chilis. My mom ordered the tortilla soup, which i got to taste. It is one of the best tortilla soups I’ve ever tasted! Everything I tried there was amazing, and I look forward to trying more on the menu the next time I eat there.

I went to Native Foods in LA a few years ago and loved it. I recently moved to Portland and was very excited that there are two locations nearby. I had lunch here the other day and it was just as good as i remembered. Of course everything is 100% plant based(vegan). I had the original chicken wings(crispy without the buffalo sauce) and with ranch. The Chicken, Bacon & Avo Sub. The Blueberry Hibiscus Iced Tea. Everything was amazing. I was so full by the time I left but i simply went to the movies afterwards and enjoyed my food coma. I recommend this place for vegans and meat eaters alike. You won’t be let down.

Everyone is really friendly, not obnoxiously friendly either. The food tasted fresh, and was presented nicely, and quickly. The free refills on tea/lemonade is nice as most places hold back on that. This is my first time here, and I will be back. As for the food, I just didn’t like what I ordered. I got the Oklahoma Bacon Cheeseburger, which sounded good, but wasn’t the right mix of flavors for my liking. Next time I visit I will update my review on the food.

Be advised, this restaurant is vegan they are 100% plant-based — they serve no meat or animal products at all. YAY! My own town is seriously lacking in vegan and vegetarian restaurants, so when I travel, I always try and find restaurants such as this to eat at. Oregon and Washington State are very vegetarian friendly, and I appreciate that. I was staying at a hotel nearby, and saw this place, so gave it a try. It was very clean and friendly. The room was bright and decorated very cool! You order at the counter(they are very friendly and helpful), and they bring it to your table. Prices were VERY reasonable for all the food that you got. In case you are interested, they serve beer, because my friend ordered a beer that she liked. I ordered the«Chicken» Run Ranch Burger(leaving off the ranch). OMG, it was SO delicious. Crispy batter and delicious vegan chicken. It was so awesome. It comes on a fresh bun, with a little salad on top. Really, really good! Sides don’t come with the sandwiches, but we ordered a side of fries that were outstanding! My friend ordered the«Bacon» Cheeseburger. It looked really good, but I didn’t try it. She ate every single bite, so it MUST have been good. I loved everything about this place. I wish it was in my hometown!

I heard about this place in a program run by Adventist, which I didn’t realize was going to be a big Vegan push. That was back in February, right before I swiftly quit going when they asked me to give up meat, and you can probably still hear my eyes rolling as I exclaimed to my husband, «hell will be frozen before I give up meat on any level»… well, things must be getting cold in hell, as I have now been meatless for over a month. We needed to find a place to eat on our regular Friday outing, and I remembered people in the program raving about this Vegan place at the mall. That alone wasn’t appealing, but we went anyway. Yes, parking can be a bear if you hit at any time, not just the usual time everybody thinks the mall is cool. But I figured, healthy way of eating — a few extra steps thrown in and I am practically a health fanatic. I had taken a gander at the menu online before we came, I signed up for the loyalty card, which instantly gives you a BOGO, yay the food was going to taste even better, since I declared mine was free. Now, you probably hear my husband’s eye roll. Anyway, the food is really good. We tried the free range soy chicken wings. They were so good, and yes, even they tasted like chicken. My husband ordered chili and it had a cashew cheese on top, which before I ate it I questioned its existence, after I ate it, I knew it was now part of mine. Holy kittens, who knew you could turn a cashew into THAT and it be so good. I love it on their nachos, as well. Vegan does not mean healthy, as they do have fries and the dessert case that screams buy me when you walk in. That I haven’t tried, as I am doing a no sugar thing right now, as well, Will update though when I finally decide to go back in. They did comp us a cupcake after they forgot to bring my husband’s side dish out, so my DIL said it was really good. It was chocolate with raspberry filling. We have now gone back several times and I am kinda stuck on the portobello sausage burger. I love the whole roasted cloves of garlic on it and some magic sauce that makes you forget there is no meat within wifi distance. Check out the menu on line for pictures that will make you ask, are you sure that’s not meat? Portions are large here, as well and the staff has been very nice every time. They bring the food out to your table and they bus them as well despite it having a kind of fast food feel to it.

This is my first visit. It may not be my last, but we’ll just have to wait and see. They tout the meals as «chef-crafted,» which they may be. But they fall short of being home cook prepared. The food is very good IMO. But quality of dish leaves me wanting of more. And for what I paid, I expect much more. My two main gripes are that the steamed veggies had been borderline overcooked. And I happened to notice the cilantro was not well washed. But hey, I’m no wuss. I still enjoyed it all. The kids at the register and monitoring the dining area are friendly and perpetually smiling. The restaurant appears very clean and the tables are big enough for game night. If you’re a cheapskate like me, skip this joint and maybe order a pizza instead. But if you wanna try something tasty and new and you’re not exactly a superstar in your own kitchen, you just might find something to enjoy here. ** I need to add — While I could see browned bits of lemongrass in my side of broccoli, it tasted as if the«chef» went crazy with the garlic powder. It is called«lemongrass broccoli» for a reason, is it not?

I just like this place for their healthy options. It feels great taking the family to Native Foods so the kids can start seeing healthier options. The employees are always nice and very helpful. Skip it during the mall’s busy hours because parking is a problem there.

So, I guess I’m the only cotton-headed ninnymuggins that didn’t realize Native means non-meat, non-dairy. When you step into the store, you can tell something is different because it smells like a health food store. I couldn’t pinpoint what I was smelling(or not smelling) until after I had ordered and taken my first bites of food. I ordered a chicken wrap with crispy«chicken» and my first thoughts were«love all the fresh veggies, but this thing tastes healthy.» You know what I mean. I really enjoy their chipotle sauce, which they use on several of their dishes. That stuff has the right amount of spice to creaminess ratio. Things I didn’t like: it’s pricey. And I don’t like veggies pretending to be something they’re not. If I wasn’t totally blind about the Vegan thing, I would have just ordered a salad without any native«meat.» Fake meat is never going to taste right to a meat-eater. I don’t think I will be coming back, but I can see how this is a great option for people who live a Vegan life.

I usually love Native Foods. I normally frequent the Bridgeport location but I ended up here one weekend. I wasn’t too pleased with the food. The service, excellent! Very kind staff like any other Native Foods a Café. There was just something off about the fries. They tasted kind of awful, fake & very stale. The Native Wings were pretty good though. For some reason the flavor in food differs between the Clackamas & Bridgeport locations. I feel as though Bridgeport has a fresher flavor. Overall, however, Native Foods Café is awesome & I love their food. Just pointing out a difference in flavor between locations.

This was my first trip to Native Foods Café. I’d never heard of this place before, but decided to give it a shot since I was walking by and hungry. I checked out the menu, and once I saw nachos my decision was made. The listed nacho components are black beans, Native Taco Meat, chipotle sauce, Native Cheese, salsa fresca and guacamole. My nacho arrived looking pretty appetizing, but with the first bite I felt something was wrong… It didn’t taste quite right. The chipotle sauce was really good and the other ingredients were fresh, but still there was something off. I zeroed in on the taco meat, took a bite of just that and found the source of my displeasure. Something that I missed(mostly because Native Foods Café does a good job of explaining what they’re about on the BACKPAGE of the menu) is that NATIVE = VEGAN. My mouth knew it had been deceived even before I did. The lack of meat didn’t stop me from eating the whole nacho, and once I got past the odd taste and texture of the«taco meat» it was actually pretty enjoyable.

Taking a star off for my recent experience here. I asked a girl to help me choose a dish that didn’t have much broccoli. She said it’s easy to pick out. Well ok, after ordering the BBQ bowl, I realized it’s mostly broccoli. So half of the plate I paid for went in the garbage. The other half wasn’t good at all, I couldn’t finish it and I eat everything. Anyways still a great place to try, just don’t get the BBQ bowl it’s kind of awful. Adding to this months later — gyro bowl is awful too. This place is only food for sandwiches and chili

Okay I’m a meat eating libertarian voting country lovin’ SOB. I came here because like most things that turn out great my wife told me to… Staff is über friendly… all of them. Cashier, busier and the managers that come around and thank you for your business and ask if they can get you anything. One even suggested a sauce he likes with the dish I ordered and brought some out. All the teas and lemonades range from good to great(yep, tried them all). The food is solid. The only all veggie place that the food actually stacks up well to non veggie restaurants(IMO). Soups, Salads, Wraps and Tacos are all good choices. As a lover of cow and think they are only good for cooking, milking and making baseball mitts out of… the texture of the burger just doesn’t do it for me.
