Ma La Chicken — spice lovers rejoice. Friendly staff, quick service. Also tingling pepper chicken and Beijing lamb are winners.

Almost all the seafood is wild caught. Nice atmosphere — ivory tablecloths, proper lighting.

Wow, the Hartsdale crowd is apparently tough to please; I’m glad I disregarded the negative reviews! Hunger pangs came on while I was in the area so I walked in to order take-out. I found the décor to be pleasingly subdued, the ladies behind the desk were very friendly and greeted their regulars by first name and were very much on the ball during a busy weekend dinner rush. The items on the menu are a rung or two up from the garden variety local area Chinese food — my selections were *very* good so no complaints from me regarding the extra $ 1 or $ 2. I plan on returning there soon!

SOOOOO expensive. Chicken & broccoli was $ 17 and Mongolian beef was $ 20. Their food is good but not awesome. Also with parking a mess right in front & not much time to spare for picking up, they sure do move slowly for pick-ups…print reciept… staple…print 2nd receipt… paper pile…

Hunan Village has been an institution in Hartsdale for many years and after not going there for about a year, my wife and I decided to stop in for dinner and we were pleasingly surprised by their scallion pancakes, the dry roasted string beans and one of their special entries where we picked the seasonings, the vegetables and how we wanted the food prepared. We opted for Stir Fried! Anyhow the chicken was prepared to our specifications and was delicious! We were impressed by our meal and looking around the crowded tables and the people waiting for take-out, makes me think that this restaurant will be around for any years to come!

The food was expensive and very greasy. Chicken was not fresh. Nothing for desert, I expected at least orange slices considering the cost of the meal.

I ordered delivery to my house. The woman who took my order on the other end of the line was very friendly and easy to understand. She took time to answer any questions I had about the food. My order arrived in 30 minutes or less. I ordered spring rolls which were cooked perfectly and not greasy. A hot and sour soup made exactly how I like it with the best ingredients– a lot of places use a lot of filler that no one actually wants like celery to make up half of their soup and save money on the more expensive ingredients. I also ordered the seafood with stirfry noodles that is picured on here. ITWASTODIEFOR!- absolutely love this place and will definately be ordering from them again!

Despite the really bad reviews here, Hunan Village was full this Saturday night. At it was full for a reason. The place is cheerful, the service was truly excellent, and the food was delicious. And when the server said that my choice was very spicy, he was not kidding. Only complaint is that the prices are on the high side. But if two people pay a total of $ 6.00 more for two entrees, in the grand scheme of things it’s pretty meaningless when you get first rate Chinese food(becoming very rare in Westchester), Also, there is no sushi or «Asian Fusion» dishes. Just good old Hunan-style cuisine.

Love this place. Today we had a 2.5 pound lobster with ginger scallion sauce cooked absolutely perfectly.(Most places over cook lobster.) Also, the best broccoli with garlic sauce anywhere. Friendly place, great service. And great food. Highly recommended

I have been here a number of times and sat to mediocre food, saggy rolls and over cooked entrees several times. But last night I went for dinner and ordered lobster as my main course. Guess what? It was chewy and poorly cooked. I told the waiter that the lobster tasted as if it was prepared with previously frozen lobster. Not fresh. Guess what? She confirm it was. This is unacceptable for 4 small pieces of lobster that was hard to chew. The small dish was $ 27. I was very dissapointed because of the poor quality. The staff or the owner did not do a thing. The Service was awful. Ï had to insist to get me a beber imordered three times because they had forgoten. Probably i wont go back. The quality of this place has gone down so fast. I understand why there were only two tables eating dinner at 8:30PM.

The only reason I gv this place 4 *‘s is because the prices are so high!!! They have fresh and delicious Chinese food. But make sure you have a lot of money to pay the bill, which is written in Chinese!!! Don’t you hate that? Crazy!!!

Solid Chinese restaurant. The food is OK to above average. Good lunch specials that my wife sometimes partakes of. For some reason the prices are significantly higher than comparable restaurants in the area. It’s still better then 7 Woks.

I enjoyed my leisurely weekend lunch(2⁄26) at Hunan Village. The service is attentive and the food arrives quickly. The portions are large and the menu has all of the things you’d expect to see. I always start off a new Chinese adventure by ordering the same dishes — after that I branch out — for me, it is a way to compare apples to apples. I had the General’s chicken with brown rice and an egg roll. The egg roll is plump, crispy and loaded with cabbage. I had to ask for duck sauce and mustard; when they arrived they were the perfect accompaniment. The chicken was tasty — maybe a bit too drenched in sauce for my taste but the portion was large so I had enough for two meals. This place is convenient and not too expensive. Next, I’d like to try some takeout.

Very good Chinese in the vein of the first Hunan Village which is now called GEM. They have the so-awesome-you-want-to-eat-36-of-them spinach covered crab balls. And I’ll be damned if the scallop with spicy black bean sauce isn’t one of the tastiest scallop dishes I ever had.
