We’ve been there a number of times and have usually been happy. Their salads are great. But, our last visit was a disappointment. I usually order the fire roasted wings but this time they were fried and served to me in a puddle of oil and without a trace of lemon pepper seasoning. My husband’s medium rare burger was served well done and rubbery. Though the restaurant was nearly empty, we waited an extraordinary amount of time for our poorly prepared food. Won’t be returning.

Used to like this place when it first open but this time it was a very disappointing experience for our entire party! The one and only good thing was a wedge salad I ordered to start. But my bolognese pasta which was recommended to me was a bowl of almost indescribable mess!!! Could not even see the pasta which was buried under a brown looking sauce, I had asked for a dolup of ricotta on top and came as almost a cup over the plate, it was sent back immediately. My husbands Buffalo Chicken pizza was alarmingly burnt and looked like it was a pita bread crust? Not pizza like at all? When he bit into it, it broke apart and was brittle. Tasteless and very unappetizing. Our friend who happily ordered his favorite dish, chicken parmigiana said it was so tough he could barley cut through it, his broccoli the was just steamed and had zero flavor? I ended up with a small side of pasta and a side of broccoli, again bland and very little sauce on the pasta. We asked to speak to the manager who listened to our list of complaints and said I appreciate any feed back I get and I will talk to the kitchen. We asked if it was under a new owner and if the cook’s were all new, he said no same staff? When the waiter brought us our check, the bolognese I sent back was still on it??? When we asked him to fix it he did make the proper adjustment but at that point, something should have been taken off the check. The manager made a point of coming back and thanking us for our input and said he spoke to the kitchen and it did not fall on «deaf ears». And said I look forward to you all coming back, for REAL??? I give up!!! Won’t be back to this place ever unless they can do a complete about face. Shame on the Port Restaurant for not putting their best foot forward here, not a lot of choices in the winter time, they should have stellar service, food and managers!!!

Went to Ember for dinner and had a great time. We had terriyaki wings– delicious! And then had the fig and prosciutto pizza(the pizzas are coal fired) this was first time I got a fig pizza that had real pieces of fig on it rather than fig jam– really good. We finished with the three types of cupcakes(very good but we could have split one)

— Service was great — Pizza was very tasty. Had a number of pies — classic cheese was great(kids enjoyed); the chicken pesto, the portabello mushroom, meat lovers were all awesome — Salads were fresh and tasty(kale, Caesar, wedge) — Thai wing app was super good too There appear to be a number of varied reviews out there. Our experience was top notch. Will be back(a lot).

The best aspect of Ember is that it is a restaurant with great ambiance. We called about ten minutes before getting there and asked if it was a problem to have a table for six with a high chair, they said no problem but didn’t have a high chair for us when we arrived. We ordered two pizzas and a kale salad. Pizza 1: meatball pizza was pretty good except fairly salty. Pizza 2: BBQ chicken pizza was okay, except didn’t have any BBQ sauce on it at all. The Kale salad was more a mesclun mix with a few pieces of kale added in, not much dressing.

Such a lovely ambience! However perhaps the holidays took it’s toll on the staff. Lots of socializing by the waiter and pizza cooks throwing pizza dough some landing on a fixture. BBQ chicken pizza coming out without BBQ sauce, had to ask for refills on water several times. In contrast a female waitress was buzzing around serving customers and very attentive to her customers. Appeared there was no manager on duty… disappointing

We loved the pizza. Coming fro. NY and CT we have been searching for good pizza. We found it. Crust cooked to delight. Everyone made us feel welcomed and appreciated. Nice fire pit outside. We will be back

Solid thin crust pizza, although its hard to recommend since my favorite place is just a block down the street, Georges Pizza. But Ember sets itself apart since its more of a dining experience than fast food and lots of seating and various side dishes that are very good. Awesome firepit outside for the colder nights as well!

Good pizza and great atmosphere at Ember. We drove by during off season and the fire pit caught our attention and lured us in. Our group ate the Hawaiian, White, and Blueberry pizzas. The blueberry was surprisingly fantastic — the sweetness of the blueberries paired perfectly with the saltiness of the prosciutto and goat cheese. This would be a five-star review if it was not for the service. It was slow and they cut most of their staff and sent them home while we were there. It took what seemed like forever at the end of the night to get boxes for our leftovers and pay the bill.

Oh Ember, how I want to love you. You are so convenient and have an awesome outdoor patio. But every time we order from you(in house or takeout) there is always a major mishap. This time around we waited 45 minutes for a table even though there were 2 empty 4 tops the entire time. We could have eaten and left during that time. The people that ended up being seated there had also waited 45 minutes so it wasn’t being held for a reservation. Our pizza arrived cold and undercooked. The chicken tenders were cut so thin there was barely any chicken in them. The kale salad was way too sweet with the candied walnuts, too many figs and sweet dressing. Nachos had a good helping of pulled pork but the overall dish was also too sweet. Hoping things turn around because they used to be better and there needs to be a great restaurant in Harwich Port!

Overpriced, pizza wasn’t that great or worth the money we spent(110.00) for seven people. Had better pizza for under 50.00 at Mikes. I think you are paying more for the experience and atmosphere. The outdoor fire it what drew us to this place to begin with. I guess if you just want to have a few drinks and sit by a cool fire pit then this is the place for you. But those drinks could be pricey as well. The soda our kids had were 3.50 a piece and 5.00 for a bottle of root beer(the same root beer is at the grocery store in a six pack for six bucks).

We came here to have wings and pizza and the most helpful thing we can tell you is to not order the pizza from this restaurant. We have never seen a pizza made like this– had to send it back twice. The bottom was completely burned and half of it was raw. Not to mention that they toss regular cold tomato slices on top. The cheese would slip right off the pizza and had no flavor. Definitely enjoy the wings. Those were very tasty and the fire outside is nice. Avoid the pizza!

This year much better. Last year, a little problem with lack of a dishwasher. This year– host and hostess need to be more welcoming as opposed to disturbing their conversation. The caprese salad was amazing with wonderful tomatoes. The menu does say«basil» but our server said it never comes with basil– oh well The wings were perfection– both the sweet and spicy and lemon pepper. We ordered the pulled pork pizza. We love it although this time was a little burnt in spots Overall very good for handling a large vacation crowd. Tory, our server, was good and attentive The inside was quite busy and loud but not bothersome

All the other pizza places in the area either had tremendous wait times, even for take-out, or didn’t offer what were were looking for. Initially got excited about another joint’s clam’s casino pizza, but they were out of clams. Which I didn’t think happened on the Cape. Ember offered an acceptable alternative, their scallop pizza, with bacon an asparagus. Also order a pepperoni and mushroom. Thought we were just going to get a handful of bay scallops, but was surprised that the pizza contained a good amount of diver scallops. Liked the thin styled crust, but I think the desired crispiness was lost on the ride back. Also could have been a bit warmer. However, the sauce is tasty. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Father-in-law says its the best pizza he’s had on the cape.

I have spend every summer for the past 20 years in Harwich Port and I have enjoyed Ember since it opened. however in the past year or 2 it has gone down hill. Inexperienced staff and the quality of food has gone down. I usually get take out but I dined in last night. It took 25 minutes just to get a waiter at our table and his apology was«sorry we are busy and you guys got shafted» which i thought was incredibly unprofessional. We got the same thing i always get the Chicken Pesto pizza and the Teryaki Wings. The wings were great but a little on the salty side. The pizza came out and it had great taste but was almost cold wen it got to the table and it was very oily and flimsy. Over the food was decent… Worse then usual I am usually a very very easy going customer but latley the food has been worse then normal and they do not have the quality of food for me to put up with terrible service. Ember may have just lost a repeat customer.

This may be a confusing review but hear me out: The positives: 1.) tons of vegetarian pizza topping options 2.) gorgeous outdoor seating patio The negatives: 1.) HORRIBLE acoustics 2.) takeout makes NO sense; at most places, you pick up your takeout at the hostess stand. At ember you have to smoosh between people at the bar then carry your food over them… Not only is this rude, but it interrupts the dining experience of others. All this being said, check it out, the food is good

I love ember, always have and always will. Their blueberry pizza is to die for as well as the fig and prosciutto. The Blueberry is super unique and can’t be found many places. Yes, it is thin crust coal fire pizza so chances are your pizza will be a bit crisp(but I like it that way). If you are hesitant about the pizza– order a few appetizers. The bacon wrapped scallops are AMAZING and their salads are great and huge! Try their red Sangria– I typically end up having a few glasses. It’s yummy.

Restaurant could do more business if they updated the website on a regular basis with current days and hours of operation. Had three different pizza’s one of which was gluten free, my daughter loved the crust and states it was one of the better gluten free pizza’s. We also had two regular pizza’s both of which were greasy and just warm when it arrived at our table. Grease was from the cook putting quite a bit of oil on the pizza’s prior to going in the ovens.(Observed it from our table)

My fam decided to go to Ember while in the area during an off-season weekend. It was our cousin’s birthday, and we were in the mood for a big, awesome meal. We called ahead and made a reservation, and our table was ready shortly after our arrival. We waited long enough to figure out what we wanted– I don’t remember the name of the pizza I ordered, but it had giant, delicious scallops on it, with huge strips of bacon… I’m not a huge bacon fan, but I was sharing so I rolled with it. Our table of six ordered appetizers, and those were great! Fried mozzarella, boneless hot wings, spinach dip– all really fantastic. The dining room was really, really loud, because of the open concept style, and the high ceilings, I’d guess. The ladies at the table behind us looked like the Real Housewives of the South Shore, and the crowd overall, was mixed, bougie people and normal people. I can’t imagine coming here in the summer, I feel like the crowd would be incredibly annoying. We waited a long time for the pizza. I noticed the chef squirting crazy amounts of clarified butter on every pizza that came in front of him, so I expected everything to taste pretty good. When the pizzas finally came, everything looked so amazing on the table that I took a panoramic picture of the meal. Then, we all started eating… and we realized that there was a fine layer of charcoal coating the underside of all four pizzas they we’d ordered :-( This wasn’t a normal amount of char, this was a seriously overwhelming amount of blackened cheese, grease, who knows what, completely coating the bottoms of our pizzas. I ate about a slice, and felt sick to my stomach and kinda grossed out when I looked at my hands and saw how black my fingers were. We sent the pizzas back, and the waitress was really nice about it, offering to send out new ones. At first we were like«yeah, ok» but then after seeing one of them come back in the exact same condition, I tried to cancel mine. I really didn’t want another disgusting burnt pizza to take back to our little cottage. I wasn’t going to eat it. The waitress said it was already in, and I didn’t want to be a jerk so I just went with it… so I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when it was still on the bill when the time came to pay. DISCLAIMER: I’m not one of those people who bitches about the cost of a good meal. But I am a person who bitches about the cost of a bad one. As nice as the server was otherwise, those pizzas were bad. They were bad, plain and simple. No one enjoyed their meal, and honestly, we were out as a family and didn’t want to make a scene or a fuss… but I guess I should have demanded to see a manager, and explained that clearly the cooking surface inside the oven was filthy, and that’s why a layer of charcoal dust was on my pizza, my fingers and now, in my teeth and mouth. No joke, when I went into the restroom to wash my hands after the meal, I had charcoal smeared all around my mouth. Gross, dude. Bottom line: this place is a bit of a mess. I don’t like to write one star reviews, and I did have decent appetizers, so I’ll give it two stars, but I won’t be back, and I sincerely recommend that you skip Ember on your next trip to the Cape.

My boyfriend and I are dinner here the other night and it was great! We only waited about ten minutes for an outside table near the giant fire – on a Saturday night! Not bad! We started with corona light on draft YESS, and a sangria. We ordered the spinach dip and it was amazing! Huge and bubbly. I decided on the wedge salad and my boyfriend got the pulled pork pizza. This. Wedge. Salad. I CANTEVENEXPLAIN. It was so delicious I can’t even stop thinking about it. It was huge! The combination of balsamic glaze and blue cheese was absolutely phenomenal. My boyfriend loved his pizza, too! Made on a coal fired oven. Our serve Jill was super sweet and even suggested a bar to go to later that night. We would love to go here if we make it to the cape again someday!
