My wife and I went here on Valentines Day for the first time. I will say that the service was spot-on excellent with a relaxed atmosphere. Cutting to the chase, however, we found the steaks to be a disappointment. We both ordered the filet mignon, which, while having been cooked perfectly, they were absolutely neutral, without flavor. I’ve had far more flavorful steaks at J&R’s and Outback. In addition to which, the baked potato was served without butter or sour cream, which, believe me, it needed. Overall, it was not a great experience… I came away feeling as though I flushed $ 200.00 down the toilet. Just as a footnote: We have a handicapped parking placard… as I was about to park in a handicapped parking spot, I was greeted by one of their parking valets who was flailing his arms for us to stop, telling us HE has to park the car. I was ¾ of the way into the spot already when I was greeted with this idiocy. So, we weren’t off to a great start even before we enetered the restaurant.

Went to Paces for lunch today with my dad, a cold holiday lunch. The restaurant was quiet but the porterhouse for two was perfect! Steak was cooked exactly as I had requested and was T see and delicious. I didn’t have any appetizers because I knew the steak was a giant portion but definitely want to return and try more of the menu.

The food is absolutely great! For sure their aged steak is one of their best! Service is really bad and because of that, I won’t be going back. There are many steakhouse in NYC and on the island offer much welcoming experience.

I’m sad to say my last visit was the worst service I’ve seen from Pace’s 7 pm reservation. Arrived at 6:55. Seated at 7:20 after standing in a packed bar that must have been violating fire codes My sense is they overbooked but a server told me they were one person short that Saturday night. It took one hour for appetizers to be served. We filled up on bread. Entrees came about an hour after the appetizers. Then the fight broke out between two tables. Twice. The couple who just got drinks next to us probably made the smartest move by leaving. The food was as wonderful as ever but the wait staff were clearly overwhelmed.

I love a good steak. I came here with my wife on a Tuesday night, armed with a Groupon coupon. We had a reservation and were sat immediately. I ordered the marinated Porterhouse. It was good, but not great. It was cooked the way I ordered it, but the marinade was mediocre and probably not necessary on this type of steak. Would have been better on a skirt steak or something similar. I got steak fries with my steak, which were tasty. My wife ordered the pasta dish with chicken and enjoyed it. For dessert, I got a cappuccino and we shared a chocolate peanut butter cupcake. The cappuccino was fine, the cupcake was pretty bad. It had salt on top. I know some places do this to bring out the sweetness, but not on a cupcake! Also, the cupcake which was pretty small, was $ 9.00! Overall, it’s not bad, but you really can’t compare it to a high end steak house. PS. Our server, Ryan, was a good waiter. Plus, the manager asked us a few times how everything was and filled out water glasses a few times

Its been about 12 or so years since I have been here. When I saw the living social deal I thought it was a good time to go back. Was very pleased overall. Started with the clams on the half shell. Sweet little necks were clean and fresh. Split a great wedge salad. Had my usual ribeye and it was excellent. Big, juicy and tons of flavor. Really delicious. My friend had the same and he loved it too. To me there is nothing better than going out to a fine steakhouse and you can be sure that I will be back here again.

Typical steakhouse décor. pricey, small portions, ordered the petite filet mignon(7 – 8 oz) came on a very large plate with 2 small onion rings .TWO!!! Surprisingly the meat was ok. Not melt in your month which one would expect at the price paid! Side dishes average around $ 8 each, enough for 2 people. Service attentive, but not overbearing. My main complaint. you spend a lot of money and never feel special or welcome. There are many other places at this price that know how to treat you well, those are the places I will seek out.

I got a groupon for Pace’s steakhouse for $ 60 worth of food. My partner and I came and we ordered the porterhouse and the pork chop. We also ordered sides(a la carte). I was extremely excited as I hadn’t had a good steak or pork chop in a fairly long time. The porterhouse arrived without the sauce it was supposed to be served with, no big deal, they brought it out after I pointed it out. So how was it? subpar and disappointing. The porterhouse(one of the best cuts you can order as it has the filet minon and the ribeye) was about as tender as the sirloins I make at home(and it was cooked medium rare!). How is this possible? The ribeye and filet are the two most tender parts of the cow. I was very let down. Outside of being not nearly tender enough, it was also fairly bland. No real flavor to be spoken of. I’ve made sirloins 10x better at home with olive oil, rosemary, and garlic. Awful. The pork chop? Tough and bland. There wasn’t much going for this pork chop. It wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had, but for the price extremely dissapointing. We ordered two entrees and one order of mashed potatoes. Even with our $ 60 groupon, we ended up paying another $ 65 on top of that. Terrible experience, not worth the time or money. Go somewhere else.

I went last night to celebrate my 37th birthday on 10⁄23. Made a reservation for 8pm. I absolutely love this place. The service was great. The food was absolutely delicious. Our waiters name was James. He was a doll. Very attentive and knowledgeable. Even our servers and busboys were polite and attentive. We started off with a drink in the lounge. I had a cosmopolitan. Not everyone can make a good cosmo. But the bartender did. We were seated. We had oysters on the half shell to start. Delicious plump beautiful oysters. Loved the bleu cheese dressing on my salad. Actual chunks of bleu cheese. I had the bacon wrapped filet mignon. Juicy, delicious and flavorful. My date had filet mignon with a lobster tail. I had a bite of his lobster. The lobster was cooked perfectly. We had creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. Washed our dinners down with wine. Crème brûlée for dessert. Which was on the house since it was my birthday. The crust on it was perfection. My only complaints add a little more garlic to the garlic mashed potatoes. Wish you had more seating outside the lounge or in the lounge for when you have to wait. Otherwise had a great experience. Would definitely recommend and definitely will come back.

Paces’s has always been a solid«neighborhood» steakhouse. I don’t even compare them to what people consider to be the«high end» steakhouses because it’s apples and oranges. It’s also FAR less expensive, which puts them on par for what you get. Porterhouse for two is always excellent as are the sides.(As a rule, I never order porterhouse for one because it’s too thin to achieve the right temperature and texture) Additionally, the service is always great. It’s time for another visit… it’s been awhile.

Pace’s — oi– Strolled on into Paces with a couple friends thinking it was a great idea based on the name and reputation; Getting right down to it, and skipping the service as it was good and fine; the Ceaser salad was one of the best I’ve had with homemade croutons, and the french onion soup was as good as any… getting to the appetizers and main course however, was extremely disappointing. Pork, chicken, and steak — all a bit of a miss; cooked right, but almost flavorless, lacked any redeeming quality with the hefty price-tag. I fail to see any allure or reason to return

Yet another 5 stars from me! Dined at Pace’s on 9÷5÷15. Rob the waiter recognized my name on the reservation and made sure to have my party sat in his section! We started with baked clams and my DH’s favorite — clams casino even though they weren’t on the menu that day. I had a marinated shell, DH a marinated porterhouse. As always, we ordered crispy onions, the mac & cheese, and a veg(broccoli this time). After gorging ourselves on perfect cooked, delicious aged steaks, we had coffee and cappuccino. DH enjoyed the cannoli while I had a dish of vanilla ice cream. You really can’t go wrong at Pace’s between the food, the staff, and the ambiance. We’ll definitely be back soon!

We visited this restaurant after an enjoyable golf round. The restaurant is a dimly lit and as a traditional steakhouse ambiance. I heard they were known for their single Porterhouse orders which was very good. There service was very attentive while the atmosphere was very pleasant. However, I have been to many steakhouses and I consider this one in the middle of the pack as far as great steakhouses to visit. Follow me on

Took my girlfriend here for her birthday. We got one of the more private tables upon request(it is a bit of a crowded layout otherwise). We ordered half shell oysters, porterhouse for 2 and sides of creamed spinach and sweet potatos. Food was superb. No complaints about service either. I will say that Ruth Chris steakhouse has a better porterhouse for 2, but still great all the same. Will be back.

Nice improvement! Our recent dinner just tasted better than usual. Service was very good and this time the kitchen got everything right. We always forget that the entrees come with a salad. So, after finishing our drinks, starters, and then salads we are almost too full to enjoy our main courses. Everything that came out of the kitchen was as ordered. To my taste, the steaks aren’t the very top quality that is found in some of the other premium steakhouses, but you’re not paying that very premium price either. I started with onion soup and was really surprised that it was as good as it was. The cheese very good and the broth was great. My wife had a plate of fresh mozzarella, tomato, and peppers — also very nice. Salads are bigger than expected for a freebee and are very nicely arranged. We both had fillet mignons for mains. And, while they weren’t as tender and flavorful as other steaks we have eaten, both were still very tasty and perfectly prepared. Sides were ok. In summary, Pace’s does a fine job. The servers are professional, the dining rooms upscale, and the food is good. I always have a very nice time.

My BF took me here for dinner. I always said that I would never go to an overpriced and over hyped place. But I have to say it was amazing! It is pricey but not horrible to do once in a while for a special occasion. I had a piece of fish that was cooked to perfection! It was during lent so I couldn’t have the steak but I did steal a bite from my BF and it was like BUTTER! The service was top notch! ~~~Natty

Bought a living social voucher for $ 30 to get $ 60 worth of food. The host was very pleasant and had us seated right away. I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo and it was one of the best that I had ever eaten. My wife had the Petite Filet and ordered a side of mashed potatoes. It used to have polenta and a tomato with two fried onions but now it had only two fried onions besides the Filet. My wife decided to ask the manager why they changed the plating on the petite filet and he said not many people ate the polenta so they decided to take that away. That made the filet smaller than it actually appears on the plate. The manager came back with a side of fried onions to give to my wife and said please enjoy. That’s service and why people are invaluable in any industry including theirs.

Love this restaurant. I dragged my boyfriend over to Kotobuki, but seeing as they had a long wait, we left and checked around the plaza. Boyfriend spotted Pace’s Steakhouse and we decided to give it a try. We had an amazing and unexpected dinner at Pace’s. Without reservations we were sat down promptly. Our waiters were splendid, specially Rob! He informed us of the menu, their nightly specials, and seasonal beers available. We opted to go with the Chef’s special and tried their Seafood Duet and Pork Shank. For appetizers, you can opt for a salad with the dressing of your choice. The seafood duet was composed of jumbo shrimps with turkey stuffing and small portions of fish, served with your choice of vegetables. The pork shank was so tender, we didn’t even need to use the knife. It was served with smashed potatoes and it was delicious! Everything was better than expected. Would recommend to anyone.
