Jimtown store is located on hwy 128 just out of healdsburg and on the w a y to calistoga. The store itself is fairly small, with merchandise in the front and seating in the back. Jimtown used to have a deli where you could order sandwiches, but they did away with that and have premade sandwiches and a sit down menu. There is seating outside when it is warm and dry, and table seating in the back . I ordered the rueben off the menu, and split a bowl of chili with my brother. Both the sandwich and chili w ere delicious. They have a good selection of beer from local micro breweries. If you are visiting Healdsburg, rent a bike and take a ride out here. The vineyards are beautiful and you cross the Russian river. It is not fancy and trendy, but it is your local country store that serves great food and the owners are extremely friendly.

Not sure about all the complaints regarding bad service, but the service has been great every time we’ve gone. Such a cute, old-fashioned store. The breakfast burritos are to DIEFOR!!! If you do stop here, be sure to get one. Note that you have to arrive before 12:00, as they don’t serve them past this time. Also, the place is a little out of the way, but you’ll be glad you went out of your way to come here!

It doesn’t even deserve one star. I’ve been going to Jimtown for almost 20 years. The past year the service is abominable, foods bad and the rudest manager ever. Don’t know what’s going on but the manager need to go. She’s one mean, nasty woman who needs to get another job.

Really cute local find. Food was yummy. Staff was helpful and attentive. Would definitely recommend it if you don’t want a long drawn out fancy lunch.

Very pricey, but worth it! Mostly snacked on small plate food, but I may say their roasted honey/smoked almonds are to die for! Cheese, spreads, and deli meat are very tasty as well. Wish I could comment on the sandwiches, but again just had their finger food. Worth a stop if you are in the area for wine tasting.

Very cute little shop. I work up the road. But, I stopped in on Saturday to buy a ball cap(i was going for a horseback ride and forgot my hat at home). Omg. $ 27 for a baseball cap??? Seriousley? That’s just greed.

Appalled at how bad the service is now. As many other reviewers have stated, this used to be THE spot for lunch in Alexander Valley. We have been here many times over the years and always loved the cheery service and back patio. We brought a group of friends here on a wine tasting day, and we were so embarrassed that we recommended it we almost left. In hindsight, we wished we had left. When we first arrived, the excessively snobby and rude lady at the cash register talked down to us repeatedly, before FINALLY explaining that they changed service recently: take-out only out front, if you want to sit on the back patio you have to sit and wait for a server. Wow, she was appallingly rude, we thought, but fine, ok, so we went to sit outside and waited for over 10 minutes with no attention from servers. We flagged two waiters down at various points of being ignored, said, «hello, we’d like to order.» We got the same nasty, rude, and unwelcoming response of «We’re really busy right now. It’s going to be awhile» from both of them. Dripping with disdain for their customers. As I’ve said, appalling. After 15 minutes of being neglected, we went back to the front and decided to do takeout instead, barely managing to deal with the rude woman’s attitude. The grilled cheese special sandwich($ 11 I believe) took 35 minutes to make. It was a GRILLEDCHEESE. No apologies, not even a «sorry for the wait,» in fact, they still seemed annoyed to be serving us. Appalling. We were horrified by the attitudes, the lack of customer service, and the lack of respect by the employees for the store that used to be an institution. We will never return or recommend ever again. TL;DR: Do not even bother going here. You’re much better off going to Oakville Grocery or Big John’s in downtown Healdsburg to pick up your own picnic items before spending a lovely day in Alexander Valley. If you go to Jimtown Store, I can assure you there will be a bitter taste in your mouth.

Used to love this place before they went«fancy» and started doing table service. On our way to Alex Valley my wife and I dropped in for a quick bite as follows: BLT BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich«special» 2 iced teas Small bag of chips Bill was $ 37.50 for what should have been $ 22 worth. Are you f******g kidding me! The iced teas were $ 4 each, the BBQ«Special» sandwich $ 15.00 Usually don’t write a lot of reviews, but this experience just felt like a total rip off. Tourists Beware!!! Stay away — unless you feel like getting robbed by the side of the road

Friends brought us here and the food was superb. Possibly because of location they are unable to hire decent staff? Our server told another table that the Bahn mi was Japanese, my husband corrected her and her response was«I knew it was some kind of nese» yikes. She also couldn’t do simple math when we asked to split our check(27+37 does not equal 57). We had 4 different sandwiches and they were all great. Worth stopping in for if in the area.

Avoid this place at all costs. Lady at cash register with glasses will surprise you with how rude she can be– insulting us at every turn and forgetting to give us items and also causing a ruckus denying us service when we wanted take-out, to have the servers and waitresses tell us «I can’t help you, we’re too busy» and waiting over 25 minutes for service(they didn’t even bother to take our order??). If you like to be treated second-rate and totally refused service and don’t like to be treated like a human being, come here! It’s perfect for you. Read all the recent reviews, my group and I are hardly one in a million when it comes to a review about how horrid their service is. Food was good but a sandwich that could barely feed a 5-year old is charged the price of a good mid-tier bottle of wine. Seriously? What are they assuming… that horrible service should COST more? Would never come back to this Jimtown Store even if it was the last place on Earth.

This place was just okay. I got a Reuben while I was very famished, and it still tastes just okay. If you take into account that there is not much in the area and this is just a break area between driving or biking, they have some food that’s better than a convenience store, but Dry Creek produce just down the street has a lot more, fresher, and just better options.

Went to Jim Town store forth of July weekend. This used to be a must stop for us. Always loved having a hand crafted sandwich. When asked was referred to the refrigerator section. Really? Are you kidding me? What has happened to the place? The ambience of Jim Town is gone. So are we as customers. Staff needs to be a bit more cheerful too.

Used to love this place. This last experience left a lot to be desired. We walked in, only people in there at around 2 and said we were going to take something to go. She hands us a menu and tells us to sit anywhere we like. We reiterate we are going to take it to go and then she essentially rips the menu out of our hands and tells us «those aren’t for you. Pick a sandwich out of the case. If there isn’t the one you like we’ll make you one.» Uh, I don’t know about you but I don’t like paying over $ 10 for a sandwich that’s been sitting in a refrigerator case. Luckily neither of our sandwiches were in the case so they had to make it fresh. I asked if the chicken salad had nuts which to the response was no. Then I grab a lemon bar two seconds later which was labeled to have a coconut crust. Paid $ 18 for a regular sized chicken salad sandwich, lemon bar and iced tea. Get to our picnic and find out the lemon bar had some kind of nut crushed in the crust. Glad I just don’t like them and not an actual allergy.

Cute little store with vintage tables for you to stay for a sandwich. Breakfast is only served till 11am which was a bummer but they had these unique bisquit breakfast sandwiches that were ok. I wouldn’t say it was anything to brag about as mine was a little dry and if you go here for breakfast or somekind of egg plate and arrive late, you’ll be disappointed. Sure would have been nice to have a pancake and an egg even if it was 11:10am. I mean, we were on vacation, here. However, it’s a great little stop to pick up items before your wine tasting but better to just have a seat. They are known for their giant cookies so make sure you pick up one of those too. It’ll come in handy when you’re looking for something to nibble on during your beautiful drives in the Alexander Valley.

A bit on the pricey side but the food is good. The location is amazing! It overlooks a vineyard and today I was told this place has been here for 120 years. If I was ever in this area I would go again!

The Jimtown store is one of those places that has been on the northern wine country landscape for decades. Located on the 128 hwy just about 7 miles east of Geyserville off the 101 in northern Sonoma county. Whenever I find myself heading north out of the wine country I often stop in this place and have for years now and have always had a decent meal. Been able to grab a cold drink and a tasty sandwich or something yummy for breakfast though it’s usually lunchtime when I’m traveling through. Or just stop and use the rest room even when need be. This place has always been inviting. And, this cool and eclectic general store serves up some of the best food around. Awesome breakfast choices and lunch sandwiches and specials. On today’s return trip through the area from Calistoga, we found ourselves by Jimtown store and stopped a little past lunch time — 1 ish. The place had a few people inside eating, drinking a cold drink and just looking around at all the cool vintage collectibles. We checked out the chalkboard menu and ordered. I ordered the smoked turkey with chipotle chick peas and bread and butter spicy pickles sandwich, and grabbed a cold boyland cream soda from the case, my wife ordered the same and had a fresh lemonade. Our son ordered the grilled egg plant sandwich. From the time we ordered to the time we were served was about 20 minutes. And there was a large party(6) just in front of us. Our food arrived all a once and we each thought that our food was good, I enjoyed my sandwich and cold drink as did my wife. Our son was silent and the sandwich was gone within minutes — so I’m assuming he enjoyed his as well. All in all, this little general store has some really good food, cold drinks, interesting décor, comfortable seating areas to enjoy said food and drinks and is worth the stop. 83

Sunday, 1:00PM. Quickie: Profuse small-town charm in all aspects of the store: staff demeanor, décor, «slow» food, and the vibe. And then??? Some of the staff had Kansas roots, partial to the Jayhawks. Can’t hate on good hoops! A place worth visiting when in Healdsburg. ********** Stuffed my face in: 1. Pastrami Reuben made with Zoe’s Pastrami, Sonoma Brinery Sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Sweet-Hot Mendocino Mustard grilled on Light Rye. +Watch out NY, that’s some dang good pastrami.
