Nothing special about the tasting room or wine but the staff was sooooo friendly! We had a great time and they made us feel very comfortable.

My boyfriend and I love Raymond Burr Winery and have been coming here for years. Therefore it’s very sad for me to report that the winery is for sale. When we went for our latest visit in October 2015, all they had left to pour was their port. We still enjoyed our time with Ken in the tasting room, but I wanted to warn future visitors as there were a few groups who came in and were surprised by the situation. It sounds like they’ll probably have some Chardonnay to pour in addition to the port next month, but that’s probably it. Definitely call ahead before visiting. If the tasting room is open and pouring, then it’s definitely worth a visit — nice people, good wines, free tastings and some Raymond Burr memorabilia for Perry Mason fans.

If you’re looking for a nice quiet spot to do some wine tasting this is a great place for that. Every time I’ve been either I’ve been the only group there or one other group. The downsides are that the tasting room is very small and the ambience isn’t quite there. Plus sides, the tasting is free and the views are incredible since it is up on a little hill and looks out over a valley. The wines are good but not overwhelmingly impressive, the Cab Franc was probably my favorite. If you’re a fan of Raymond Burr, though, it could be worth a stop to see his memorabilia and estate.

This place is just awesome. Undoubtedly one of the most bizarre tasting rooms I’ve ever been in, it’s going to be the one I remember the most from my day trip to Sonoma! Yes, folks, this is THE Raymond Burr you are thinking of. Mr. Perry Mason himself. The weird hybrid trailer park /tasting room area is decorated with peeling yellow faded T.V. Guide covers and several of Mr. Burr’s acting awards. The ancient window a/c unit still manages to keep the unpretentious place cool. Don’t miss the carpeted(yes, CARPETED) wheelchair ramp, all done up in mismatched gray and lilac carpet. There was also this table full of used books out front with a handwritten«FREE» sign. I laughed when my friend grabbed a couple of decorating books off the table, reminding her that the complimentary faded paperbacks were probably once the bathroom reading material of Mr. Burr. The tasting experience was also very«offbeat.» The two friendly older gentlemen behind the bar were super friendly and welcoming, albeit a little strange. Not in a bad way, in a crazily endearing way. If you go, be sure to chat up Jacob and you will see what I mean. Welcome to the Twilight Zone, baby. The tasting area is on a hill so it affords lovely sweeping views of the vineyards below. The wines were all really tasty too, and while priced a little on the high side, I didn’t think they were a terrible value. Best of all, the tastings are FREE. That’s unheard of nowadays. Talk about great winery hospitality.

Ok I’m not ashamed to admit that I know who Raymond Burr was. But I didn’t know he had a small winery in the Dry Creek area north of Santa Rosa. I happen to mention to a friend that I was heading to that area and was looking for some ports. He recommended I check out Burr. Nothing fancy, several older farm buildings and houses sitting up at the top of the property. The tasting room is quite small and filled with many pieces of Burr’s movie and TV career memorabilia. It was interesting to look through some of the stuff. The staff was very low key and friendly. Offered a free tasting of the Malbec and a cab franc, both were ok. But I was looking for their port and happily poured me a taste. It was ok, but made with French cognac and didn’t have that deep warm caramel flavor from the Portuguese style that I love. Give them a try if you want a simple experience with friendly staff

Fantastic Cabs, wonderful staff, and a deep respect for traditional wine making methods and varietals makes Burr a true gem!

As a professional wine guide I often take my clients here to enjoy the premium wines and friendly staff. This is kind of family owned winery that keeps wine tasting in perspective. All the fancy château don’t mean a thing if the wine is just mediocre! So while the tasting bar isn’t Italian Marble, the wine helps put you in a delightful mood. Now add the gorgeous view from the picnic area and it’s really all you need to enjoy wine country!

Free tastings and a beautiful grounds area. Staff is really nice as well. So pretty up here. Lots of Raymond Burr memorabilia to look at while you taste as well. Great experience!

Great experience again at Raymond Burr Vineyards. This was our second visit. Excellent Chardonnay and Cab Franc. Ken, Frank, and Jacob were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The patio has plenty of seating and the view overlooks the vines and mountains beyond. Relaxing and peaceful. I recommend this winery to those who are looking for a friendly, laid back atmosphere with great wines and a great staff.
