Joe’s Crab Shack is similar to Red Lobster. They have good seafood and customer service. The main selling point, however, is their steamed entrees. They have different flavors, all of which are pretty darn tasty. I love how they give you a bib to protect your clothing. I’m glad I agreed to wearing it because it came in handy. The waitress was very attentive to my son and answered all of his questions about the menu. I give Joe’s a 3 out of 5 because, frankly, I’ve been to much better restaurants. The food quality is good but not great. I’m not sure I would be back since there are so many other good restaurants in the area.

It’s Red Lobster-tier quality seafood. It’s not the best, not the worst. It’s fun to go to, and the service was fantastic, but the food had the typical chain restaurant feel to it. I’d rather spend more money and get higher quality, fresher seafood. The crab nachos were delicious, but the tortilla chip to nacho toppings ratio was way off; there was an absolute mound of chips with barely any toppings. The crab cake sandwich was barely warm and the bun was old and falling apart. The«smoked sausage» they include in all of their crab dinners was a glorified Oscar Meyer wiener — if you put their sausage and an Oscar Meyer out in a blind taste test, no one would be able to tell the difference. The have sinks right out in the dining area which is handy for when you’re done eating. They also have a kid’s play area outside which is nice. Ultimately, they use lower quality seafood to keep price’s somewhat affordable, but in the end, you’ll have a much better experience ponying up the money for a higher quality seafood meal. Don’t skimp when it comes to seafood. There is a massive difference.

Food is not very good. I’m actually surprised by some of the choices they are lacking To carry. Anyway, if u like rubbery seafood, served Luke-warm, then this is the place for you! If you like a slight step above then that, then go next door to red lobster. If you actually like seafood, and care how it is prepared, go to The Original Crabshack!!!

My boyfriend & his mother & I went to Joe’s Crab Shack on Saturday 6÷13÷15 and had an excellent experience. My boyfriends mother does not have much strength in her hands so was having a hard time cracking the crab legs(it has been awhile since she has had seafood and not thinking about how tough it is to crack the shells). We asked if there was another utensil or something that could make it easier for her, our waitress Jessica offered without any hesitation said I’ll grab a pair of gloves and help you. She did an excellent job at cracking them and made my boyfriends mothers night. She was the sweetest, professional, kind waitress we have seen. We thanked her and gave her boss a great review in person. Needless to say she received a generous tip & very much deserved. Thank you Jessica & also the food was sooo tasty! Going back again for sure! My boyfriends mother may order something different next time though like shrimp :)

Took my mother here for mother’s day. She got the huge sampler platter with all of the fixins, and I ordered the chicken french.(I’m not a fan of seafood, but she is, and it was mother’s day) The wait staff was friendly, and a manager came around with roses for all of the mothers there eating. A few minutes after we order, the waitress comes back and tells me the chicken french is no longer available. OK… So I order the other chicken meal, comes back a few min later and now the chicken french is back on the menu. HUH??? o.0 My mothers meal was over $ 40.00 for frozen sea food. She said it was good, but could tell it was frozen My chicken french came, it was a rather small portion for $ 19.00. The flavor was pretty good, but I have had much better and larger portion for less money. But hey this is a seafood joint, so I didn’t expect much! My overall expectation was high, we ate there last mother’s day and I feel that it was better then. I doubt I will visit there again. There are much better tasting seafood places around and better food value for your dollar. The big national chain comes to mind!

Joes! if you’re looking for a fun night and tasty seafood with lively staff go here! The crab fritters were so good but sadly only seasonal. The steampots were great but the lobster was on the dry side. They forgot my sude order of shrimp so that took a but. We hardly saw our waitress. The booth was splattered with dried seafood from previous patrons which was gross but overall good experience, good food.

My husband and I ate here yesterday because we had another event scheduled at the restaurant afterwards(Paint Nite). Honestly, by the end of the meal, I kind of wished we had eaten somewhere else and just showed up for the event. We got the crab dip as an appetizer. It’s a decent portion with tons of oily tortilla chips. It was good, but it could’ve been better. I could really only taste tons of cream cheese with little crab. The tortilla chips could also have been replaced by some toasted bread, but that’s a matter of preference. I ordered the Redfish and Dirty rice. It was barely edible. The fish was a little overcooked but at least it was drenched in lobster sauce which tasted pretty good. The rice itself was just plain disgusting. I told the waitress(which I rarely do!) and she got me a side of corn and broccoli to replace it. I ate it, but I was truly disappointed that the dish wasn’t what I’d hoped for. Shortly after this, the manager came by to check on us, and proceeded to give me attitude because I didn’t like the rice, making it sound like I was the problem and not their food. Probably true! The problem is that I have standards and if I pay this much for a plate of food, I expect it to taste good. I’ve had twice as good for half the price in New Orleans! My husband had the snow crab legs and he got a big bucket of crab legs(huge portion) accompanied by some nasty, tasteless fries and hush puppies(which looked like they’d been fried twice). He liked the legs, but everything else he got was a joke. Conclusion… I would NOT come back at this price point. The food reminds me of low quality bar fare in a coastal town. Edible if you’re washing it down with a few beers, but it should also be priced accordingly. As it is, it’s not worth the $ 85 for two people. I might have paid $ 30.

We dined here a couple of weeks ago and loved our meals. We happened to be present during happy hour, which made our evening even more enjoyable. The happy hour consists of $ 5(full-sized) appetizers and $ 3 hurricains, beers and margaritas. Needless to say, we had a few drinks and ordered the crap dip app. I also ordered the shrimp special for ten dollars which came with onion rings, hush puppies and a veggie. My husband ordered a friend seafood platter off of the dinner menu. He liked his food also. Our meal was affordable and delish. Can’t wait to do for happy hour again.

Went here with a a friends family and ordered the typical my crab leg dinner entrée. The overall taste of the food was excellent and the staff were quite friendly, in conclusion this place is quite nice and worth checking out. 4⁄5 !

I’m writing this review as I am sitting here waiting for my food since I can’t believe how rude the staff working right now have been to us especially my dad. As soon as we walked in the hostess gave us a look like«oh no people are coming» my dad said hello and asked for a table and he kiddingly asked if they sell crab legs here and she’s was so rude and goes«well not crab legs but the entire crab» and my dad goes«I was only kidding» and she gave him a blank stare and said«ok» turned around and started walking towards the dining room, as we followed her she asked if the picnic style table was ok I had said sure but as soon as I realize the restaurant. was empty and saw the tables right behind that have the couch seats, I asked if we could move back there. We hadn’t even sat but she was mad about it? As if we made her job more difficult. Our waitress started off short and dry but has gotten better in the last 10 minutes. I’m very disappointed, previous times the staff is nice, attentive, lively and they even sing and dance! Not tonight though terrible experience!

We got to Joe’s crab shack on a slow weekday for lunch. There was not a single soul in the restaurant, so for a moment we thought we’d better turn around; however, I have been meaning to check this place out for a while now, so we just went in. The waitress kindly sat us in a booth, with a huge bucket in the middle of the table. The place is almost nice, not much inviting; probably could have been a little warmer for a cold december day, but let’s stick to the food. We ordered«the bean town bake» a huge pot of two whole lobsters and some clams and shrimps, and of course, what is an american restaurant without a sausage on its plate! We also chose hush puppies and corn as our two sides. We got two appetizing gorgeous bibs and got going! The food was really well prepared. Well Cooked in mouth watering flavors. The hush puppies were to die for. I assume the corn was cooked with shrimps, because somehow it had absorbed the flavors of shrimps and clams and was yummy. All in all, the food was good, probably a little expensive for the size of the dish, but good enough to place a smile on my face and make me satisfied with the food.

Was craving seafood the last couple days and decided to come here with my boyfriend despite the hour drive. I was a little worried after reading some reviews, but it was absolutely delicious. We both had a different steampot and they were both flavored nicely and the staff was very very nice. We were there for almost 1 ½ hours and I never saw a song/dance. Maybe we lucked out. If you enjoy seafood, I would come here. Keep in mind when you read negative reviews that if someone has a bad experience they are more likely to come rate it on here then those that have a great experience and continue to return. Delicious. Will be back soon.

I finally got to go to Joe’s Crab Shack! I loved it. Pros: BIG lobsters, tasty crab. Tasty Garlic non-peeled steamed Shrimp. Fast service. Great staff: Mostly younger(mid twenties girls) Happy hr, buy one get one free drinks at bar. 4 – 7 Cons: Expensive. Friday’s/Saturday’s packed. We went at 5PM on Tuesday 8÷26÷2014 and it was ¼ full. So, that is only time I have seen it NOT crowded(by driving by, looking at parking lot). Ordered: Big Daddy pot. 1 Lobster, half pund of Queen Crab. Shrimp. 2BIG Sausages. Full ear of corn on cob. Garlic REDBIG potatos. Unlimited butter. Overall: Great service, GREAT tasty food, cheap PBRs buy 1 get 1 free happy hr. I have seen a few people say this place is not comparable to Red Lobster, which is right next door. I’m calling(bs). Red Lobster is absolutely a rip off now. Last time I went there, it was clear a lot of their products were bagged and steamed. For $ 10 more, I got what I described above instead of what you would get at Red Lobster, which is a lobster tail, smoall portion of crab legs, small corn… Bottom line: Go to Joe’s.

I was craving crab legs last night(which is absurd because I’ve never even enjoyed them before), so we piled in the minivan with the kids and decided to give Joe’s Crab Shack at try. Word-of-mouth reviews have been sketchy at best, so we didn’t have high expectations. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised. The waitstaff was friendly and thoughtful, the menu options were great, the drinks were good, and the food was yummy. We ordered a fried seafood plate with fries, a steamed seafood plate with corn/sausage/potatoes, grilled salmon with rice/broccoli, and a kids’ meal. The only complaint was that the steamed lobster was mightily over cooked and tough… but I did ask them to split it and clean it out. I’m sure it lost a lot of moisture that way. The best part for our family was the playground located just off the porch/open area. It was PERFECT for our five-and seven-year-old kids, and my husband and I actually got to talk to each other before the food came out. It was an expensive weeknight dinner out($ 100), but we’ll be back… after we save up for a while.

Joe’s is a fun place with good food at reasonable prices. The manager was attentive and our waitress was outstanding. We’ll go back. It was pretty noisy, and while tolerable, we’ll nonetheless try the patio seating next time.

Lunch date with the wife mid-week outstanding selection of seafood, great service and fast. Their steam pots are great and they have a lot of them of them to try. Prices are a little higher that a few other places local that do seafood, But it’s great quality seafood unlike some other national chains that use low-quality seafood. Did have a small problem with our order, the manager on duty took care of it real fast and resolve the problem to more than our satisfaction. High marks for Joe’s crab shack great experience a must try if your into good, quality seafood.

I hate seafood. Yeah, you read that correctly. HATEIT. All things fishy are quickly eradicated in, near, above, around, and outside of my home. I had to go to Joe’s Crab Shack for a working lunch. I assumed they would offer a few non-fishy options, so I wasn’t too upset. My first impression was surprisingly a good one: the tie-dyed shirts and industrial themed interior were refreshing. The lunch specials were reasonably priced. However, it was the staff that truly impressed me. The host and servers were super friendly and hospitable. They made it appear that they actually liked their job, each other, and their customers. While some may view their enthusiasm as artificial or forced, I appreciated it. Very few establishments emphasize the significance of customer service and professionalism, so the effort was noticed and welcomed. Naturally, I ordered a non-seafood meal; the crispy chicken salad. It consisted of fresh field greens and a variety of vegetables, topped with fried chicken strips. It was more than adequate. The ranch dressing, however, was delicious. So much so, in fact, that I dragged my hubby out several weeks later so that I could reorder the salad and have the dressing again. I was curious about the desserts, but recall the prices being a bit too steep, so I passed. I may just have to try them in the future, as the photos were quite tempting!

It was an ok experience. The staff was trying way too hard at being ‘friendly’ with us. Gabriel was extremely over zealous, in our 20’s he would have been fun to joke with, however, his juvenile jovial joking is a little much. We ordered the Double Dip Chips. The dips were good but the chips were coated in too much salt. I had the Classic Steam Pot; the lobster was good, but they did not devein the shrimp.
