just okay. not the best chinese food ive had, not the worst either. portions were good. The general tso and the hot and sour soup could have been spicier. crab rangoon and spring rolls were both as expected. nothing was really super great, but again, none of it was bad either. Would probably order again, they have decent coupons if you go through their beyondmenu site to order, at different price points you can get some item of food for free.

I ordered fried Chicken Wings, Sha Cha Pork and house fried rice. The Sha Cha Pork was blend and the Fried chicken wings was too salty. How could they go wrong with fried wings??? Anyway i would never go back again. Didn’t even try the fried rice. I threw everything in the trash. If I could i would give no star

Very similar to my review for 3 Olives. This place is on Grubhub and seems to be the best Chinese in the near area so I order it. I’m from out of town and this is the best Chinese I’ve been able to find. It’s ok. The food, while decent, is SUPER greasy. So greasy that while I’m eating I sometimes wonder if they boil all of their food in oil. I still eat it, but try I try to stay away from their greasier options like their noodle dishes.

I’m a fan. This is the only place I have been ordering from since I moved to the area earlier this year and its good. I’m not sure how I feel about Unilocal’s feedback anymore… I decided to switch things up today and try a new place, the place Unilocal had highest reviews for, and it was awful. I could not finish it. My only real complaint about Royal Golden is that their fortune cookies suck. They are the Chinese proverb kind and we never bother with them anymore…

Some of the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Delivery was fast. Just wish the stuff was edible. Extremely overcooked and the flavor was not there.

Came here tonight on a whim and ordered the sesame chicken which came with white rice(under $ 13. seems a bit pricey really). This was covered in a red sauce which looked more like it’d be for a sweet and sour dish, the sauce tasted very bland and could probably use some szechuan and salt at the very least. The sesame seeds looked like they were more of an afterthought rather than incorporated into the cooking process(which I kind of expected based on Unilocal photos here). The rice was fine, not dried out like most places. Overall I would probably stick to Oriental Express for mediocre takeout.

Should have read some of the reviews before ordering. Ordered food on phone and that should have been a good indication of what to expect! Took an hour and 30 minutes for delivery and completely unapologetic. I get to my meal and bite into undercooked eggplants(Had ordered an Eggplant Garlic with brown rice). Called them back again and they have no clue what Customer service is trying to justify that I have no idea what eggplant is… lol. After a few Chinese Lady screams in the background, The lady on the phone actually ask me to put back the half eaten bites into the ‘to go’ bag back(yuck!) and then only will then refund. At a point she asks me to put the brown rice back in the box(Hopefully they don’t reuse it). Mistakes happen but these first generation restaurants have a really tough time in understanding how to make it right.

There is a real ass**le working there who picks up when you call for delivery and patronizes you when you ask basic questions. Thats the last thing you need when you’re trying to order some food and enjoy.

This place is good if you want to get something quick for take out. They give out way too many onions in the Mongolian beef entrée. Their General Tso’s is always cooked too long and is not soft. I have not used the delivery as I live nearby.

Still trying to find a good Chinese delivery. Our food arrived on time, but was all very greasy. The dumplings were deep fried(and cold, that’s why I don’t order them that way) and mushy. Very few cashews in the cashew chicken, also very greasy. Disappointed.

I ordered and received dried & terribly over cooked duck– a leg and two tablespoons of chopped meat. I called and complained about the duck. He politely explained, «the duck has been there since Wednesday». OMG! You really told me that. Okay that explains the dryness & whatever else I was tasting. It literally made me sick to my stomach. His defense was they do not make fresh duck everyday but stock order it once a week & all they have to do is put it in the oven and heat. Really. Wow. Disgusting. Yuck. Now I having nightmares about everything else I’ve tried from there. Shut it Down.

Average to above average. We’ve ordered from this place over 30 times and for the most part we are satisfied. We’ve occasionally received the wrong order(someone else’s completely different meal) and ordering over the phone is not always a smooth process. Some items are overly greasy but the main staples(lo mein, chow mein etc are pretty good).

We ordered and they told us 20 – 30 minutes. An hour and a half later the food showed up. The food wasn’t bad — but only so-so. And nowhere near the amount of food others said they received. Certainly not exceptional and worth the wait.

Hope you aren’t hungry when you order because you can expect a long wait. I spent almost 2 hours waiting on my meal. I called twice to check on my food– after an hour the 1st employee was helpful/nice but misquoted my arrival time. When I called back another 40 minutes later, the 2nd employee told me «it would be there soon» before even finding out who I was or what the order was. I certainly will not be ordering from them again for delivery, that’s for sure!

Royal Golden… I was beyond hungry and trying to satisfy my hunger and this place did the job. They give you A LOT of food, they’re cheap, and the good is pretty delicious. You get a good amount of food for your buck. I had ordered the Thai fried rice and the barbecue short ribs. They really do give you a lot of food. It’s unbelievable. I enjoyed it. I was traveling, so I may not be back here again. But it’s great for hunger cravings on a time crunch and budget lol! :-)

On-time delivery. It came very quickly. The delivery man was very polite and thankful. I ordered the House-Special Pad Thai and a Spring roll. The pad thai contained a combination of a fried egg, meats and shrimp. It was just fine. I enjoyed it because it was not overly powerful with the thai sauce and salt. I was able to taste the flavors of the veggies, the meats and the sauce mixed with the thai noodles. The spring roll was fried, but it was not greasy as they can tend to come out that way. Cheap, fast and flavorful. Win win in my books.

The hospitality is completely lacking. The place is staffed by what looks like an entire family. There is a laptop and video game setup on the back wall. Two kids are running in and out of the kitchen and trying to keep themselves entertained. This kids should be at home or doing things kids do, not be forced to hand around mom and pops restaurant while they do work. I ordered General Tso’s Bean Curd, and the food which was told to me to be ready in 10 minutes took 30. Once I got to eating the food, it was not the best meal i have had. The food had a foul fishy after taste to to it. Kind of like something rot in the ingredients. This is the first and last time I will order from them.

I saw this place one day by accident. I figured I would give it a try. I even read up on the Unilocal reviews before I went it. I still went, why? Why not, I figure things might have changed. Who knows. Anyhow as most know. I like to judge Chinese Restaurants on some authentic dishes. If they can’t make these true Chinese dishes, then they have issues. The 3 dishes are Kung Pao Chicken, Mao Pao Tofu, and Hot and Sour Soup. On this trip i ordered the lunch kung pao special, it also came with a spring roll. I ordered a cup of hot and sour soup. I sat down and waited away. There are only a few tables in this place. If you eat in, they will serve you on real plates. My food hot and sour soup came out pretty fast. It had a nice smell to it, but it was too thick for my likings. Way too much corn starch or whatever they used. Taste wise, it wasn’t too bad. If it wasn’t so gelatinous, it would have been much better. Now the kung pao came out. I will give them credit, they made it with only chicken, scallions, peanuts, and red chili peppers. This is the traditional way. No veggies is good. But looking at the color I knew it was going to be off. The color lead me to believe it was going to be sweet. I took a bit and I was wrong. In fact it had no flavor. It was just stir fried, maybe even deep fried chicken. Most of the pieces were very dry, then covered in this brown sauce. I did finish it as I was starving and had not had breakfast that day. The spring roll, was just filled with cabbage and had no flavor. On the plus side, it was crispy and hot. Maybe the other dishes might taste better, who knows. I might give them another shot and try something else. The prices is super cheap if you get the lunch special. If you go, just don’t get the Kung Pao Chicken.

Let me start off by saying, I did not finish my meal. This can only mean one thing. BAD. I ALWAYS finish my chinese take out. ALWAYS. People who know me understand the magnitude of this statement, so do not take it lightly. I’m the guy who usually finishes YOUR meal AFTER I finish MY meal. But with this one, i couldn’t bring myself to do it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still hungry. I COULD eat it… there is room… As I type this, the half eaten lunch«special» is teetering on the edge of my office trash can, like a Roman gladiator awaiting the Emperor’s thumps up or down. Thumbs DOWN. Awful Kung Pao. Spongy fried chicken chunks in a standard issue«Americanized Asian brown gravy». Not spicy at all. No thought went into making this dish. Cook the crap out of chicken in oil, dump on a thick brown sauce gravy(which my guess goes on a bunch of other menu items) and toss some peanuts and red peppers on top. No vegetables. Would rather be eating plain boiled chicken. Hot and sour is standard takeout fare. Nothing special, not bad, not outstanding. What I expected. It was edible and I was a good change of pace to take my mind and taste buds off the kung pao. White rice is good. Spring roll included with lunch special was crispy, which was good, but the filling was pretty weak — just cabbage or lettuce. Also, like other reviewers mentioned it was extra greasy. To top it off, the guy talking the order was unpleasant and borderline rude. He was not friendly, and seemed annoyed when I asked him a question about the menu. The delivery guy who was walking out the door when we arrived was friendly however. Smiled and thanked us for coming. Overall, would not choose to return to this place with all the other choices for chinese takeout in a 2 mile radius. Sorry Royal Golden. At least you got my money this time…

After almost 30 years of sole allegiance to the China King franchise, this is my family’s new go to place. They deliver which is great for my 60+ year old Nana. They even remember our names and the special way we like our dishes. Not too salty or over sauced. All 18 of us have our favorites and that’s hard to do! I say give ‘em a shot!
