It’s funny that I see only one other review on Unilocal for this Corner Bakery that mentions how dirty this place is. This Corner Bakery located in the beautiful downtown Highland Park area is DISGUSTING!!! Why would Highland Park allow this? Here’s my laundry list… 1. The service is slow, even if you’re the only customer there 2. Employees talk on their cell phones instead of actually working 3. The floors are sticky… gross 4. The tables are filthy… shouldn’t employees be cleaning this up? 5. If the floors are sticky and the tables are dirty, what is the food handling like? I like Corner Bakery, but will not be coming to this one until management is changed and they CLEAN up their act.

I eat here pretty frequently as it is very close to where I work. I always know what I am getting when I walk in here. Filthy tables, staff that loves to chat with each other and free wi-fi. The latter makes it worth the trip. I think the food is pretty consistent– When I order a salad I usually have to pick out a few of the less appealing pieces of limp lettuce. I think it is the feeling that I am imposing on the employees conversations when all I would like to do is place my order is what irks me the most. If there was a Panera closer I would definitely prefer to give them my business…

I’ve always loved Corner Bakery and am happy to find another one that’s within good driving distance from work for lunch. Lots of room, almost split level seating areas, and an outdoor patio to boot. Very well-kept and the food was nicely prepared. It didn’t look like it was thrown together or pre-prepared like most other restaurants of the like seem to do. I will certainly be back here!

Great location right in downtown Highland Park. Because of my newly-started Weight Watchers diet, I looked at the menu online ahead of time to decide what I would eat. I was torn between the oatmeal and breakfast panini and decided I’d go off the cuff once I got there. I decided on the power-thin(I think that’s what it’s called?) veggie breakfast panini. Actually, I could’ve sworn I ordered the one that had chicken sausage on it, but, it’s okay. Back to my veggie panini… scrambled eggs, fresh(raw) spinach, fresh avocado, and cheddar stacked between very thinly sliced whole grain bread. I also ordered a side of breakfast potatoes and coffee. I was really impressed with this panini. At first I thought there was no way it would fill me up, but I definitely had enough to eat, was satisfied, and remained full until eating again at 4pm. The location is unique, I like the different areas to sit. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was clean.

Really like Corner Bakery. This is of course is a chain but it has nice quality products with combinations that taste good. To come here everyday for lunch though would get kind of expensive. My favorite lunch items are the chicken pesto sandwich and the santa fe ranch salad. But there are plenty of other appetizing options to switch it up with. Also love that they have a club you can join and they will send you free offers by email. I just had a free breakfast panini thin — the spinach and avocado. It was good but a little messy. Comes with an interesting salsa. The bread is so thin it makes it difficult to hold in all the delicious scrambled eggs.

Not the best service. They have got my orders wrong many times and the people in front of me as well on multiple occasions. Kinda slow even when there aren’t many customers in the place.

Came here today… This place is a good value for really great food. It’s a chain, so the quality between franchises will vary a lot, but the Highland Park location is really fantastic. I love the way they offer suggestions for under-600-calorie combos, and I had one of those today: the California Grille Panini with the Three-lentil Vegetable soup. The soup was good, the panini outstanding. I wish I had remembered to ask for carrots instead of chips(usually they’ll prompt you– not today). I’m also a fan of the fresh lemon they offer to put in your soda! Keep it up, Corner Bakery!

Key Unilocal: Clean, convenient consistent good food and free WiFi… what more do you need? Review: CB has become my haven. With my kids out of school and me looking for a new position of employment, I need an office. Corner Bakery of HP has become my place to hang out, work and best-of-all linger without feeling I am loitering. Fresh hot coffee, great sandwiches and literally a great corner location in downtown HP makes this a much appreciated hang-out for me. Well done and appreciated.
