Our Poodle was left unattended on the grooming table. I didn’t find out until I took her home and she was hyperventilating from fright. When I called Petsmart on Cedar Hills Blvd. the groomer owned up that she left the dog to answer a call. The dog could have fallen and been seriously hurt. A vet bill later and the traumatized dog still hates going to the groomer which she never did before.
But there’s more. After discussing the matter with the manager, the other groomers blackballed us! They claimed, that after years of no problems, our two dogs were «too hard to groom.»
Stay away from this mill.

Took my 5 year old, short hair, 6 lb chihuahua in on Jan 15 (Friday) for a full bath, including nail trim. the next day he couldn’t walk and cried when we tried to touch his right hind leg. It’s been 5 day and he seems to be feeling beter yet still hesitates to jump steps. I cant help but wonder if he was manhandled while getting his nails trimed. He has no behavior problems (meaning zerro agression issues). Infact, his vet once said that he was the only chihuahua that has not tried to bite him. There is no fathomable reason to be rough with him! I’m hacked off. Now I see that there is another commenter here that stated that some of the goomers get rough with the dogs. If you love your pooch DO NOT leave them in the hands of these fools. I called to discuss what may have happened to cause his injury. Of course they denied any wrong doing. We will never go back there. I wish there was sompthing I could do to make them own up to the truth… but I guess letting as many people as I can know what happed may help to protect someone elses pet.

I always choose PetSmart over competitors because I have pet health insurance through Banfield. I get my dog’s food and supplies at Petsmart and am always happy with the service I receive when it comes to finding what I need for my pet.
Store is well kept and has a large selection of food for dogs. I check online for food ratings. It would be helpful to have a food guide in the store to help choose a food brand for my pet.

The stores are always well-​lit and there are a lot of friendly staff around to help. I love seeing people there with their animals. Prices are a bit high, but watch for sales and it takes the sting out of paying for food/​treats. Items are not always kept stocked so you have to ask someone to go look in the back. They usually come back with the item. Overall, for a shopping experience, it is pleasant.
I would not use their grooming services again. I used to take my dog there and one time when I was shopping I saw an employee abuse a dog she was grooming. If someone will treat an animal poorly where people can witness the abuse I can only imagine how they treat them in the back where they are not seen. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ANIMAL ABUSE. These groomers need to be on camera every minute they are working and there needs to be someone reviewing these recordings to insure animal safety.

My sister and I have been taking our timid (of strangers) dogs in to get their nails trimmed here every six weeks for the past year and the groomers always do a wonderful job. They don’t leave the nails too long, or jagged, like I’ve experienced in other places, and they make our dogs feel comfortable. All the goodies I ever need for my dog, can be found at this clean and friendly location. I’m grateful to have a place I feel good about taking the dogs to for their nail trims…

Review is for Groomers.
First time bringing my long hair torti to this location. Staff were friendly, salon area was clean and tidy and they were ready for us when we arrived. Amy was amazing and did a fantastic job! Cut was even and the tapering and details were exactly what I asked for. Very pleased– and kitty seems pretty proud of her new cut as well.
A bit pricey, $ 61 for a lion cut but well worth it, I’ll definitely be back!

My dog is very sensitive to who he is around and we have found the perfect person at this petsmart. Jean is caring, gentle and kind to my dog and i feel very comfortable leaving my baby with her.

This is probably one of the cleanest petsmarts I’ve been to in awhile. Not sure if it was recently remodeled, but it feels very clean and up to date. Even the restroom is clean and doesn’t have any weird stains or smells.
It helps to have the rewards so you can get a little discount on prices. I have only bought treats and chuck it toys for my German Shepherds here, I haven’t done any grooming or training, so i’m unable to relate to that.

Pet hotel– We took our two Japanese Chins to the pet hotel at Petsmart. They were safe but I think this environment is very stressful for dogs. The play area was tiny, not really enough room to run. There is no grass so dogs have to pee on the tile floor in the play area. This was a problem for my guys since they are not used to peeing inside. After picking them up, my dogs were exhausted. My dogs are pampered so I think this is not a good situation for pampered pets. I probably would not do this again. It was their first and hopefully last time being kenneled. The staff seemed friendly and nice. I feel it is a safe but not ideal place for dogs.

This store is one of my favorite stores to go to. The managers and staff are all friendly and great. They’re extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help. I shop here on a regular basis and they love their furry family members just as much as we do. They are very understanding. I just wish they had music like they used to. They recommend feeding their pets healthy food options to prolong their furry friends lives and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure that we’re happy.

Everytime we go to this store we get mistreated. Store staff is not helpful at all. Groomers won’t do the job if they find mats in your dog’s coat and are only willing to shave them down completely; they disregard what you want as an owner.
We paid for the behavior classes and the trainer was very rude and not very helpful. Needless to say that they kept postponing our class. Our dog was getting very stressed out and she wasn’t very comforting. We skipped the last two sessions because of our dissapointment and she wouldn’t even call to check in.
We pay each month for the Banfield Wellness plan. We’ve had a few emergencies with our dog and they are NEVER able to see him. You’re standing in line, worried sick, and they ignore you, and they end up referring you to Tanasbourne Emergency or the Clackamas clinic. Geez, I’m getting so much for my money! And they never have any problem getting it from my account… yet, I always have problems accessing their services.
Except for the manager, everybody else has HORRIBLE customer service and not very caring service to pets.
Changing providers ASAP.

This PetSmart’s Manager Dan is a great guy. I called to check on the availability of an item and he went the extra mile for me. It’s rare to find someone who is willing to help customers to such an extent these days. Good job PetSmart!

This is a convenient location, (although I hate the parking lot situation which is more a product of the mall as opposed to the business itself), and it has quite a variety of pet products and food. The help with questions here generally is pretty good, there seems to be a decent amount of product knowledge or a resource of someone who can answer specific questions.
The store is large and offers grooming and boarding services although my dog doesn’t do well with other dogs around, so I have never used these services here.
The product cost I am guessing is comparable to other pet stores, I just tend to go here as I know I can pay and get out quickly as opposed to the other pet store nearby where I used to always have to wait what felt like 10 minutes.
It’s a decent pet store, and I have no reason to buy pet products elsewhere — I can always find what I need here.

So… We had taken our dog to the PetsHotel at least 2 other times for almost 2 weeks each time. Everytime I’d drop her off she’d be happy and she’d be more than willing to jump onto the arms of whoever was at the front desk. Everytime I’d pick her up she’d be her normal happy self.
This last time I took my dog in, the front desk girl that checked my dog in she had this very forced «nice» attitude, the kind that one sees when someone really really hates their job and everything in it…
This last time, my dog was literarily scared of the girl at the front desk, my dog just didn’t want to go with her.. When it came time for the girl at the front desk to take my dog, she just grabbed my dog by the scruff, and yanked her out of my grasp.
I was like WTF!!! I know that grabbing them by the scruff doesnt really hurt them, however, WHY WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING SO HASTILY, especially in front of THE CUSTOMER???
Anyways… Booked the dog for 3 weeks @ PetsHotel. We got a call once 3 days into the reservation as there had been a misunderstanding when we’d pick our dog up. Other than that there was NO other contact from the PetsHotel staff.
When it came time to pick our dog up, after 21 days our dog was SCRAWNY. She is a Chihuahua Mix. She was 10lbs going in (took her to the vet a couple of days before), and she came out @ 8lbs (took her to the vet a day later for some shots, which she did not get cause she was took skinny). You could see her ribs, every bone of her backbone, AND she came out with a mean rash on her ears… To top it all off her behavior changed, now if we raise a hand while going to grab something
For her size and weight @10lbs, our vet said that our dog was «just right», and to see our dog like a bag of bones and skin was just upsetting. Our vet did mention that sometimes dogs get stressed/​depressed, and that they don’t eat, but our dog has a VERY healthy appetite, and even at times that we’ve left her at relative’s houses she’s had NO problem eating, even if our dog had never seen them before.
I went back to the PetsHotel desk and asked more about our dog’s stay there, and girl (same girl that checked her in) was like no, everything was normal, she ate and played, and slept fine. Then i asked if she ate all her food, then she was like: «oh, no, she only ate about half. She only picked at her food.»
If your dog wasn’t really eating, wouldn’t you call the owner to let them know??? IF there was ANY issues wouldn’t you inform the owner?
For the $ 600 that we spent there for 3 weeks. I would’ve expected MORE from them. PLUS another $ 130 on the vet bill to treat her rash, and to check her for any issues.
NEVER taking my dog there again. Will even spread the word to my friends and relatives.
The condition of how my dog was returned was UNACCEPTABLE.

This is a tricky rating — it’s about 3.5 but I just can’t push it up to 4.
As with most pet stores, nothing it cheap but you can find some great deals if you’re looking. Especially on dog toys after a holiday — because your dog doesn’t care if it’s January and she’s getting a Santa clause toy as long as it squeaks.
Mainly, we use the grooming center for my pug to get her nails trimmed & grounded. It’s not too expensive and most of the time they do a great job. They even tolerate when my pug decides to banshee scream like she’s losing a leg instead of an inch of sharp, pointy nail. It’s embarrassing as a pet owner, but she doesn’t fool the groomers one bit.
My girlfriend comes here for bird items (also pricey as she points out) but it’s the most convenient locale.

Yesterday was doggy day for me… I don’t have kids at home though I do run grand daughter round a lot, but I spend yesterday doing dog chores… To the groomer (at Mutley Crew. heads up for a great doggy day care and super groomers), to the vet at Companion on NW185th, right next door to PetSmart and here to PS for chews and a new leash-​since she chewed her leash up when I tied it to a fence. I was tempted to buy a chain leash but figured a leash that weighs more than the dog might look a bit strange.
I like this Pet Smart and appreciate they have not only doggy day care but also Doggy Overnights. The last couple of times daughters family and I went out of town together we stabled both the dogs together for the weekend… they questioned our putting a 70 pound black lab and a 16 pound Scottish Terrorist together but soon saw that Fiona is the Alpha girl even though Roxy is bigger.
They have a lot of options for the pet owner who likes to read labels –everything from very inexpensive brown bag food to very expensive boutique dog food… just decide how much is in your wallet and make your choice.
I love to visit the birds and fish and wander thru the gerbil and ferret, see what they are selling for cats and watch the dogs play in doggy day care
Prices can be high on average stuff that you can find less expensive at Freddys, also their price on the prescription dog food I have to buy is more expensive here than at the vets next door.
The employees have always been friendly and helpful to me and I prefer this store over the one at Walker and Cedar Hills Blvd just down the street now… parking is easy too.

This review is based on my experience with the PetsHotel, but the second star is for this Banfield location. I am officially pissed off. Never have I been so angry at a pet store chain. I mean, even selling dogs from a puppy mill probably doesn’t piss me off this much (well, eh…).
I had been emailing and calling kennels in the area for 2 days prior to coming here as a last resort. None of the independent kennels ever got back to me, and we were leaving for an overnight visit on the coast, so I needed a place ASAP.
I’ve never boarded my dog in the 6 and a half years I’ve had her, so it was hard enough thinking about it. I called the PetsHotel at this location and was told I couldn’t board her without at least 48 hours and they transferred me to the Banfield desk for overnight (unsupervised) boarding. I had my roommate drop my dog off (they forgot I said BANFIELD) and they had no problem checking my dog in at PetsHotel. Hmmmm…
Long story short, my dog has dry eye and needs eye drops every few hours or eye balm (which I provided, along with a note explaining this, and my roommate explained it). Luckily, she was only there for a little over 24 hours, but she came out with the biggest crusty goops. I know what it looks like when her eyes are bad, but they were horrible, and the whites of her eyes were blood red and irritated.
My dog is very, very important to me. An overnight visit for $ 50 worth of not being cared for is just too much. Board your dog with Banfield and pay $ 31 instead of $ 50 and they’ll at least give your dog the treatment required for whatever issue they may have (although there’s no one overnight).
I probably won’t board my dog ever again. I can’t imagine how stressed and horrible she felt.

We took our dog here for training and the people there are great, the cashier area the people are great and helpful. The grooming… another story. I took my dog to get his nails trimmed and the blonde girl who was helping me tried to grab my dog… I think it scared him and he peed. The girl made an irritated noise and cleaned it up. She went to grab him again and he peed again. I don’t think he trusted her. I took him there two other times and a brunette girl helped me and he didn’t do that with her, but this girl was annoyed with my dog and presented all her emotions right then and there. I did not trust her from that point on and just left in case she was to cut his nails deeper because she was clearly upset. I think if she is in the dog grooming business, as irritating as it can be… its a given that a dog might pee if he is afraid but she told me that that was not normal.
I will not go back there again if she is there. I will drive further or pay more to go somewhere else. I was completely unsatisfied. This petsmart would have gotten a 4 star otherwise.

PetSmart is where we take our dog for boarding, and for daycare.
I should probably state, I am not a huge fan of PetSmart and Petco because they do run small pet shops out of business. However, its the employees at this Petsmart that have me hooked.
When my corgi was a puppy, we had trouble finding a place that would take him just during the day because he hadn’t been neutered yet. We called Petsmart and they were more than willing to look after him, but he could only do day care (just staying in a kennel with individual playtime) instead of day-​camp (where they play with other dogs) due to being intact.
When I went to go pick up my pup at the end of the first day, we found out that one of the employees also had a young dog coming to work with them. They let our pup play with his in the back during random times, since neither could go in with the general population. It made me feel so much better about having out dog there and it was a really kind thing to do.
We did that for a week until he got neutered and they have never forgotten my dog since that week. I called back 7 months later for boarding and they not only knew my dogs name but they were very excited to see him asking about how big he had gotten, etc.
That made me trust this place. The people that work in the Pet hotel. are DOG people.
Now I will admit i wish they had more room to work with for the dog daycamp, instead of the small rooms they do. That is why we go to Buster & Lilys.
However, this my place of choice for boarding and my backup for daycare/​daycamp.

Consistently nice people who work there. Not sure what else to say since I do not go in there much. For a box store? It is fine.
